My wife and I are so glad that we decided to use Energy Docs as our contractor. During the summer…read moreour AC was constantly running and struggled to keep the inside below 80 degrees. Our ducting was also beginning to tear and break apart, so we kept finding pieces of ducting in our air registers. We called several contractors and eventually decided to have Energy Docs come see our home. Mike and his crew came and did some tests to see how our home was actually performing. After the test, he gave us a report that gave incredibly detailed information. We saw how much airflow we were losing from the house itself, how much airflow we were losing through our ducting, we even saw thermal imaging of where heat was entering our house through the walls and recessed lighting. He gave us estimates as to how much the project would cost, and how much we could expect to save. We were able to use the REU Home Performance Program which returned roughly half the project cost in rebates! During the project, the entire Energy Docs crew was nothing less than excellent. They started our project in early August, and spent the next two weeks baking in our attic. They would work until it was too hot to handle the materials anymore. With these conditions, they were still friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. They finished the project on time, and even slightly under budget. When they were done, they cleaned up after themselves and even did some repair work that made the house look even better. Two weeks after the project has been finished, it is a night and day difference in our home. There are no more temperature differences in the various rooms. Our house sits at a comfortable 75 degrees. My wife and I have been so relieved that the project went according to play and there were no horror stories. If you need any work done to your home, go see Mike and his crew. We will always recommend them, and will return should we need anymore improvements. Great job Energy Docs crew!

The whole HVAC system (including heat pump, ducting etc.) has made such a difference. Thank you Mike. We subsequently had Energy Docs (Mike Macfarland) install a state of the art solar system. Again, we cannot say enough about the savings we see with the new system. It is truly a pleasure to have someone so knowledgeable and trustworthy working on our home. We praise his skills and highly recommend Energy Doc.

Shane recommend a mini-split HVAC system to replace my crippled unit and it has exceed my expectations. The solution works flawlessly, is whisper quiet, and is unbelievably efficient. While I am wholly satisfied with the mini-split system and it's value, I am more please and impressed with Shane's expertise, workmanship, and attention to detail. Shane is and old school perfectionist who works quickly, cleanly, and is a craftsman. He and his team took the time to insure that all units, lines, and fittings were installed with the least amount of disruption to my home while cleaning behind themselves and making sure the fit and finish were better than expected. I am eager to review my energy bill savings over time, but I continue to be impressed with the value of the solution Shane designed and the outstanding quality of his work. Shane is the watchmaker of HVAC solution providers in this community. I would not hesitate to recommend Shane and his company, especially given the value and quality they provide. Quick service, utmost attention to detail, and honesty are waning qualities now, but Shane provides all these and more in abundance.

We bought a 1932 fixer upper and installing solar was an early priority, knowing full well some electrical upgrades and an re-roof of the garage would be needed. Ryan has expertise in roofing and has worked in solar for a long time. The roofers did a fantastic job adding details at my request, like a ridge vent, and details I did not expect. The main service panel was upgraded and the coordination with the electrical contractor, county permitting, PG&E, and the solar installation team was seamless. Communication was timely and excellent as was follow through. Ryan picks up the phone, which was refreshing after many calls and e-mails to another local installer who never responded within the timeline promised. I had researched solar for months and despite having the ability to DIY the project, the time saved to focus on my career and other home projects and not do all the paperwork and coordination myself was money well spent. The system is the most reputable and reliable gear on the market backed with a solid guarantee which provides us peace of mind for years to come and tremendous savings on utilities!
