Recently had solar done by Solar Solutions, in upper Shingletown,I Rock filled ground with rocks of…read more4 and 5 foot diameter. I had dug out 6 of these and left a 10 ft deep 20 x 20 area. Back filled withe still a rock that was more like 6 ft in diameter in the hole. Paul and his crew worked so hard in the front panel area that did not seam to have so many of these but as they start to put in the hols they soon ran into some. They worked so hard to install the holes and to get it ready for inspection, It all passed and they then installed the poles int the concrete, which was another major task they handled with ease, wheel barrowing all the concrete to each hole on a slope. They got the Fram work up the next day and then came the panels. One could not ask for a harder grew to build such a nice finished solar panels. The electrician that wired it into the house did such a clean install and straightened out my service panel that the previous home owner made a mess of. This was a challenge job for them I am very sure and they pulled it off with the highest of professionalism ever! Extremely pleased with final result and the professionalism displayed by everyone from start to finish. Paul and his crew kept us well-Informed through the entire process. I can say that if you want the best go with the best. Supper highly recommend!

If it wasn't much of a loss, I would be ok with just helping the environment but it is a huge cost. We are using less electricity now than were then (fewer people living here and we are gone from the home approx 2 months a year), and still when adding the lump sum payment due to REU annually and the payments on the remaining $18,000 owed of the $40,000, we were much better off with no solar. And to add insult to injury, the system stops working every year (which you have to monitor). Save yourself the cost and instead make a generous contribution to an environmental charity and you'll come out better financially and your donation will help the cause of saving the environment in a more effective manner.

Of course the water heater blows on a Saturday night. I started making calls at 7:00 am Monday morning. After having the stoner with the Amsterdam bumper sticker from one shop give me a very bloated estimate on what it costs to replace a standard water heater, I started thinking why not upgrade to a tankless or solar system? BNB Solar was the voice of reason. I had a couple of pricey quotes from local companies on what various systems would cost me, and then I got a call back from BNB Solar. They said they couldn't set me up with solar right away, but if I could get a new propane water heater installed, they would come and help me tie it in to a solar system for a very reasonable price when their schedule allowed. People need their hot water. Tomorrow I'll be calling Home Depot. I'll let you know how it goes.

So, I started a fire and the room and house smelled like smoke. I couldn't see an obvious place that smoke was leaking. I called and spoke to the manager who came right over and evaluated it and thought it all looked fine and that maybe it all escaped when I built the fire. ..Well, that night it was horrible. I couldn't see clearly - I opened the door and smelled "camp fire" - One thing all of you should do it purchase a carbon monoxide indicator - I was afraid of the smoke and had been very sick the previous day so I ran to get monitors and they did show a tiny bit of gas but way below anything scary. That night I called and left a couple messages - obviously afraid and upset. The Owner came out driving all the way from Montgomery Creek! He climbed up and found the flu topper completely plugged (even though smoke was coming out). He climbed up and cleaned it then came in and cleaned the flu part in the house - (with some hot coals. He was great - the company stood behind their work and I appreciate that very much. As a woman doing making most of these decisions I appreciated that the company came out and fixed the situation for me. Thanks

Fast forward to Monday April 3, I emailed the owner directly because I have not heard anything back after what I feel was a very generous amount of time I waited. No response. Keep in mind all I wanted was a price on a panel and I would even be willing to install it myself. I waited another week and still no response. Sunday April 9 I emailed the owner again asking for a price or at least a model number so I knew what to order. I got a (what I deemed as) rude email back telling me "currently working on the April 14 NEM 2 deadline all service calls and correspondence has been put on hold until we get past this deadline. As you mentioned this is not a warranty issue and it is not an emergency". I'm sorry I didn't realize you couldn't find 3 minutes get me a price on a panel or even tell me your reason for the delay within the almost 2 months I've waited. This is the level of service after the sale $58,000 gets you. I do, have a fully working system. Based on this, I would have given them a 4 or 5 star review. They are losing 2 stars because, this company is going through some growing pains that significantly impacted communications and scheduling on my project. Not all the delays were their fault, but I would have preferred more proactive communication from them. In hindsight, I wish I had made two changes to the contract: (1) Add specific detail about communication expectations especially regarding supply chain and scheduling delays (2) Revise final payment terms from "sign-off of permit", to "full commissioned and working system, with sign-offs from City and Power Company."

They did EXCELLENT work!! If we would have known getting solar could be so effortless we would have done it a long time ago!! Now let's see if it pays off.
