When my father passed away, I inherited his Technics SL-1600. However, it had sat idle for quite a few years previous to his passing, and thus it wasn't in the greatest working condition. I took it to Jay and he completely brought it back to life. He gave it a new stylus, new cartridge, greased all the moving parts, fixed the speed controls and automatic functions, and dialed in the anti-skate. Now it plays like a dream. I have literally never heard such clean vinyl playback. Even my records that typically crackle and pop and skip on every other machine I've ever spun them on play damn near flawlessly. I'm absolutely blown away. Jay was easy to deal with, very communicative and friendly, and did exactly what he said he would do. And all for a very reasonable price. I have a high end Marantz SACD player that had been stored in my garage for the past 4 or 5 years. I got it down to check it out prior to putting it up for sale and discovered the CD tray would not open. I didn't really want to ship the unit off to the mfg. service center so I was glad to find a local guy that could do the work. He diagnosed the issue immediately and determined that the tray mechanism would probably need some lubrication and probably a new belt and gave me an estimate for the cost to fix it. As it turned out, that was exactly the problem; he fixed it; and charged me exactly what he originally quoted...which BTW was very reasonable. Thanks to others' reviews, I chose Jay to do a bit of tuning up on my '79 Pioneer PL-560 turntable, and I'm happy that I did. The TT damping/cueing mechanism needed adjustment. Jay had worked on another TT like mine, so he assured me that he was capable of taking care of my issues. He made it easy for me to drop off and pick up my TT, and he completed the job in a reasonably short amount of time. His charges for the service were also pretty reasonable too. Jay repaired our 18-year old Sony 400 CD carousel player which went out of production in 2012. He restored it to its original glory and for a very reasonable cost. Fully loaded with CDs, because it could not be opened, it must have weighed about 80 pounds and he carried it from my upstairs 'cave' then back up again when he delivered the repaired player. Jay did an amazing job repairing and servicing my 30+ year old Technics SL-10 turntable. The MM/MC switch had a short in it that caused the audio levels to jumps up and down so he totally rebuilt the switch and now it works flawlessly. A replaced belt, a lot of TLC and a lube job and my turntable spins like it's brand new, fresh out of the box.
