I stopped in to have a electrical testing device fixed since I just didn't wanna throw it away and buy another one like most people do. It was a SunPro multi tester, it wouldn't work even though I put a fresh 9 V battery in it. It had a rattle inside of it and I'm not an electronics guy so I thought it prudent to let the professionals take a look at it and fix it. The gentleman who greeted me was very nice, warm, talkative, and quite agreeable to taking a look at my Sunpro multi tester device and attempting to fix it. He walked into the back after taking it apart did something brought it back and said it was working!!. (It was). As I started to leave it still had the rattle and when I turned around to ask the gentleman about it he said don't worry it's nothing that's gonna short out the circuit board. I remonstrated a bit and said are you sure? And he assured me everything was OK. Well I am Asperger autistic and OCD. When I got home I took it apart removing the circuit board to discover the main fuse just floating around underneath the circuit board, a metal-cladded fuse. Something that certainly and Dustin and potentially Will short out a circuit board. It was a physically oversized fuse meaning that it had been replaced at one time.... I wanted to take it back to him and just let him know that the rattle was indeed a concern that should've been looked at and I wanted to do so even if it been paying to have the job done properly with the right size (physical size that is) fuse. But I'm in my 60s and I'm a bit black-pilled with what I think on my reasonable expectations for people to do a thorough and adequate top-notch job anymore these days. /sigh read more

I took my TV to another repair shop and had the worst experience possible. I came across Bill at Amni, and decided to take my TV to him to see if he could fix it. He took a looked at it and called me within the day to let me know that it seemed to be working fine, and there was nothing more that he could do. Amni is simply the best company for data transfer and conversion! I had drawers of VHS tapes, mini DVD and 8mm tapes that I wanted to convert so I could use Apple's iMovie and ICloud to share video. After comparing price and capabilities for local and on-line companies, I went with Bill, the owner of Amni Electronics (and TV repair). I walked into the store at the SE corner of Forest and Marsh and felt like I was on a movie set. The store is filled with TVs, VCRs and DVD players and has rows of shelving with parts and tools. There was a constant stream of folks picking up repaired items or dropping a favorite TV off to be fixed. I thought I wanted my tapes transferred to DVDs, but Bill quickly explained why it could save me time if he put the data files on an external hard drive that I could just plug into my computer. With 50 tapes to convert, this saved me hours of time as I didn't have to 'rip' the DVDs to my MacBook Pro. Given the age of my VHS tapes, Bill suggested that he convert a few test files that I could take to my training session at the local Apple store, as he could put the files in whatever format worked best for my projects (QuickTime Movie .mov, MPEG, etc.). I ran the files through several programs and found that one format worked best. Bill then finished the conversion AND gave me DVDs neatly banded to each tape in addition to the files on my hard drive. These are great for family members to watch on the TV. What did I like about Amni? Bill is extremely knowledgeable about hardware, software and the conversion process, so he added tremendously to my decision process -- I'm a video rookie who knew little about what I needed. The quality of Bill's work - he repaired a broken tape, picked a different format for a particularly jumpy tape to improve the quality, etc. - is outstanding according to the folks who have seen the converted files (and to my untrained eye). I didn't have to mail my tapes off and hope they showed back up, since I dropped them off at a local shop -- and no hidden shipping costs! 50 tapes were done in just over a week, and the price was substantially less than even the lowest priced member's club. Overall, Bill gives superior, personalized service at a significant saving off every other company I checked. read more

Bill was a great Christian businessman. I had a very old VHS tape from the 80s and he fixed it and was able to transfer it to a DVD. Overall poor experience, messy inside, and uncomfortable. I was quoted a fair price originally, but when I went to pick up my product the price had increased. I was tricked into paying more for something that later I realized was a scam. He completed the requested service in a timely manner with adequate quality, but the overall experience needed improvement. I was really hoping for a more professional encounter so I could go back for my future electronic needs. I will not be going back again. Absolutely amazing! These storms throughout the Dallas area have been crazy lately. My apartment building was actually struck by lightning knocking out all of the electronics in my entire apartment including my Samsung tv! After looking online for days for a replacement DLP bulb for my Sony TV, I typed "TV repair" in my search engine and found Amni Electronics. It is a small shop tucked away next to Radio Shack, south of Forest Lane on Marsh Lane. I called and spoke to Bill. He advised he had the bulb in stock and gave me a fair price quote. I took in my lamp housing, he replaced the bulb in a couple of minutes and I was on my way. So I did a Google search for "TV Repair Dallas," after my TV stopped working properly. I found this little place. The next day I got my TV over to them and when I walked in the place was a complete mess! TV's and other electronics scattered the floor to a point where I could barely walk through, but I decided to let them look at it anyway. I went into this shop and was very pleased with the service I received last week. Bill was very helpful in replacing the lamp in my housing for my TV at a fair price; he even offered to come take a look at my TV for free, if the lamp replacement didn't do the trick. When he came to my apartment, however, he was not the same chatty, friendly man I met in the store. He was very short with me, not wanting to answer my questions or explain things like the week before. I know I don't live in the best part of town, but the way he treated me after he saw my apartments was totally uncalled for. I had 25 years of family VHS tapes, some in really bad condition. Bill at Amni was able to convert them all to DVDs and then for a very fair price added extra copies for my children.
