I haven't been following Kate for very long, but when I learned that she had opened her own salon, I knew immediately I would follow her talent wherever she went. Kate knows hair and will make you feel fabulous each time. In addition to her competence, her customer service is top notch. At her former place of work, there was a booking mix-up, but Kate took it into her own hands to make certain I left on time with exactly what I needed though the service came from another stylist. I can only expect this type of customer service and skill will be continued at Kate and Dana's new salon, Revival. It is very clean and possesses an esthetic appeal with a beautiful mix of modern and vintage fixtures, furniture, and accents. I am very pleased and impressed with this new salon! I saw Neenah's page on Facebook and contacted her about a pixie cut. I wanted to donate my hair to Locks of Love and was a little nervous. She told me to come in and we could talk it out. I did and I'm so glad I met her! She did an amazing job on the cut and made me feel comfortable. She was so fun and everyone at the salon was super friendly! I will definitely be going back. This review is solely for the customer service aspect of this salon. I booked my first appointment with Kate and was SO excited! However I unfortunately had to cancel the same day as my appointment because my son had a fever in the morning, so I was unable to take him to daycare and didn't have childcare coverage. I was super bummed and left a voicemail first thing in the morning and then called back 3 additional times with no answer. I even called back the next day and left another apologetic voice message for Kate and reiterated that I would love to rebook for a Saturday (since my husband could be with my kiddo no matter what) and was willing to put down a credit card for a deposit to show my level of commitment. Keep in mind, I also took my son to the doctor that day as well and he had a confirmed ear infection and bronchitis. They never made the effort to call me back but did make the effort to block me on their online app, Booksy, so I cannot reschedule an online appointment either. Very cut throat policy. Perhaps they do good hair but I will never know since they have a zero tolerance/empathy policy for those who have an unexpected life event happen. read more

I never ever give poor reviews but I had to share my experience today. I just finished a lovely lunch with my husband and my legitimate, certified, seizure response dog. I was walking up the street and saw a cute dress in the window. I picked up my small and freshly bathed dog and attempted to walk in the store. I was greeted by a very rude red head woman with a sour look on her face. She immediately said to me " No dogs allowed!" Not a hello, welcome, sorry but we do now allow pets or even ask if he was a service dog! I was floored by her rudeness and quickly walked away. As I walked back from spending my money elsewhere, she was outside so Informed her that my dog was in fact a ADA licensed seizure response dog and legally he was allowed in the store and if she would have politely asked to begin with, I would have told her. She rudely interrupted me telling me there's no dogs allowed in the store. At this point I just walked away. I wasn't going to let her ruin a beautiful Saturday for me or worse trigger a seizure! She yelled something at me as I walked away but I didn't hear her. I have heard great things about the stylists here but I will never ever step foot in this place again because of her. I hope management gives her a lesson in customer service, hospitality and the legal rights of the ADA. read more

I recently moved from the east coast to Dana Point and was looking for a good place that I enjoyed going to being that I went to the same stylist for 12yrs back home and really had a hard time finding a salon I liked. I found Revival while walking down Del Mar with my husband and really like how clean and nice the place was so went ahead and made an appointment with Holly. Love this salon/boutique, and I love my stylist Kate! I've been shopping here for years, half my closet is filled with Revival! The girls up front are very helpful and friendly! The prices are also amazing for downtown San Clemente. I recently got my haircut by Kate looking for a new look. She gave me the perfect A-line long bob. I'm in LOVE. I showed her a picture I had found on Pinterest and she worked her magic to modify the style to my face and body shape PERFECTLY. I'm still obsessed 4 weeks later! I can't say enough good things about Revival and Dana, who has been my stylist for a couple of years now. Soooo glad I found her! I followed her to Revival from her previous salon as I've never found anyone who had such a great eye for the color that will bring you alive, nor have I found anyone who does such great haircuts. Had a fantastic cut with Ashley here yesterday morning. I have course, difficult hair, and Ashley heard out my issues and then worked magic on it. I wound up with a stylish long layered cut. Ashley did an absolutely beautiful blow dry too. I met Dana through t-ball and found out she cut hair. I was looking for a new stylist and told her I'd try her out (so much better when your stylist knows a bit about you/your personality, of course). So I went to get my hair cut and came away with a fantastic cut and style. Ended up chopping about 10 inches off my dry, fine hair, which was looking pretty miserable after not having cut it for months. I've been going to Katie for 8 years now. She is by far the best hair stylist I have ever been to. I have really thick and long hair and its very difficult to get the right cut with layers that don't look chunky but Kate nails it every time. Strangers come up to me and say how pretty my hair is after I get it colored with Kate. Literally, random people coming up to me! She is awesome and remembers everything. I went in yesterday to get a haircut from Dana, and it was the best cut I've had in years!!! I have fine and thin hair and many people don't know how to cut my hair, but Dana does for sure. At last! After a number of disappointments elsewhere in town, I feel lucky to have found a local salon that suits me, does a great cut and is full of friendly staff. I was greeted at the door by Gina, who offered me my choice of tea or coffee with a lovely cheerful smile. My stylist, Kate, was on hand straight away to sit down with me and talk about the kind of cut I had in mind while I sipped my Earl Grey. It's clear from the off that Kate knows what she's about when it comes to hair. She quickly identified the type of trim that would best enhance the look I was going for, making tactful suggestions about altering the type of layering in my long wavy hair to make the most of its natural attributes. In testament to the small things, the shampoo and conditioner she used to wash my locks smelled scrumptious. We had a really good chat as she gave me my cut. I found out that Kate worked at Salon Bleu prior to venturing out with Revival as her own business, and I certainly think she brought all the best aspects of Bleu along with her, while leaving behind the parts I didn't like as much. I have had several compliments on my new cut in the 5 days since I visited Revival. I had my first keratin/brazilian blowout treatment at Revival yesterday and am ecstatic with the results! The salon is big, bright and open. Location can't be beat. Dana and Kate were so warm and hospitable (offered me wine or coffee as soon as I stepped in the door). They really take good care of you and make you feel so comfortable. I'm definitely a minimalist when it comes to doing anything with my hair so I was a little nervous, but I can't say enough good things about the entire experience. I highly recommend. read more
