Upon arrival, I was greeted by a nice young lady and asked her for a table for 5. She said, hold on and that she would be right back. Less than 30 seconds later, a skinny man in all black with a thin mustache comes up to the front. He looks at me, no greeting, no smile, and then with this look and a roll of his head of what do you want, said, "yes?" I told him, the other female was already helping us. He then said, what do you want. I proceeded to tell him we were wanting a table for 5. He then said, we have no table when clearly there were tables open and no one else waiting. My husband then said, well she told us to wait. He replies with, "She is a nobody here. Just a waitress. She knows nothing. We cannot seat you."
We travel to a foreign country only to be met with racism! Asian group walks in and automatically turns us away. Thankfully this was our only bad experience in Norway.
All I have to say to that man is you did us a favor because we ended up at Lofoten and had the best meal and service ever! Spent over a $1,000 on our bill and didn't care. And in the words of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, "Big... BIG MISTAKE!"
