    Five different types!
    Zynette C.

Delicious delicious delicious! One of my favorite meal here in Oslo. After a day of travel and a comforting type of food is definitely needed. I love bread bowl in the US and I needed to have more of a comfort food. So my husband and I stopped here and had lunch. We couldn't decide what to get so we ordered the babies on board. We ordered five different types of stew, now I can't remember the names but let me try: we had Thai Curry, we had Chili, we had the Mac and Cheese, my favorite Oslo stew and I cannot remember fifth one (I believe it's Indian Curry). Anyway, these five stew were delicious and I recommend that you come here.

Really delicious! I'm visiting from the U.S., and it was a wonderful blend of home and away! I lived in the Bay Area for a while and I have to say that I liked the sourdough at THIS restaurant more than any I had in California (and that's obviously saying a lot!!). I had a vegetarian curry lentil bowl and I wish I could have eaten two! I'm not a vegetarian, but it was satisfying and filling, and not at all heavy! Absolutely wonderful! I spent a lot of time trying to decide what to eat (it all sounded so good!), and the owner, Matt, was patient and flexible (I'm very particular about what I eat) and made suggestions based on my likes and dislikes. The restaurant isn't huge, but it makes very efficient use of the space and it's decorated to feel cozy and warm. There's even some comfy lounge furniture outside if you'd prefer to dine al fresco! I will definitely go back next time I'm in Oslo! I highly recommend this place for a great meal!

A cute cafe style vibe with a variety of delicious bread bowls and Kombucha! They also have a bar if you want to grab drinks with some friends. The service was quick and the employees are super friendly. I ordered the coconut Thai curry bowl and pineapple kombucha. Very tasty! Would go back.

2 babies on board: Baja chili and Indonesian bowl

Tried the Baja chili and the Indonesian - both were delicious!! And the sourdough has such a gorgeous texture - crunchy crust and a light, delicate and chewy inside. Too it off with a great selection of draft and bottle beer and super-friendly staff and this just became a new city fave.

    Truffle Mac!

I used to live next to fisherman's warf in San Francisco so I know a thing or two about bread bowls. The food here is the real deal! Had the 4 cheese truffle Mac. The food has amazing quality for its simplicity. Great selection of beer on tap (10 I think) Will def be back.

I'm visiting from the US and was craving a bread bowl and this hit the spot! Comfort food at its finest! I'm definitely coming back for more! Matt the owner was there and he was super friendly! I will definitely tell my friends when visiting Oslo to come here.

Food in bread, it just can't go wrong.

Bread bowl is the new craze from USA, and with good reason! The food is delicious. Finally a casual place to drink and eat at Solli. With good beer and nice staff, this is now my new personal favorite.

The bowls lacked flavor and the tables were dirty and sticky. Quite expensive for what you get.

Well, it's not. Sure...it has NFL banners flying high above the bar. Sure...it has a vintage photo of Denver's Mile High Stadium in the middle of it. Sure...the beer taps (which they only have Heineken by the way) have football helmets on them. But American sports bar? Not even close. Rule #1 in an American sports bar: Be Friendly. The workers were not. And although my boyfriend and I were the only people in the ENTIRE place at the time...they held all of their personal conversations literally right in front of our faces. Luckily for me, I can't always understand everyone's Norwegian because of dialects. Rule #2 in an American sports bar: If you're gonna talk the talk, you better walk the walk. All that decor and not even the NFL playoffs? Hell...they barely had any TVs (there was a small flat screen on one of the walls I did notice). Numerous people walked in the bar when we were there to see if they were showing the playoffs or having the Superbowl. They sent everyone to Hard Rock Cafe. Because people want to sit at touristy Hard Rock Cafe and watch a football game while sipping on $50 beers. Nevertheless, this place was clean on the inside and seemed like a decent place if it doesn't get 23 year olds (I saw that 23 was their age limit) partying and puking on Saturday nights. But for some reason...I think the identity of the place relies on that age group. It sure doesn't rely on sports lovers. I didn't give this place 1 star because I could still be a little bitter. Only just a little...

Not what I hoped for…read more I was visiting Oslo from the USA and thought it might be cool to check out an "American" BBQ joint on the 4th of July. WDS makes a big deal on their website about making reservations and what it serves large groups as the try to have enough cooked meat on hand. I was traveling solo so I emailed the week before to make sure I could get a table- no problem they said. When I got there the had to check if seating was available though the restaurant was half full at best. Service - The guys handling the seating sounded American but were not particularly friendly or welcoming. I'm pretty sure by my voice and appearance they knew I was from the States, but made no comment. My actual waiter was fine - friendly and attentive. Food- Shame on me for ordering a burger at a BBQ place- should have had the brisket. Still this smoked burger was undercooked for my liking and not particularly flavorful. Maybe their other barbecued meats are phenomenal-don't know. They promote themselves as a southern bbq experience-one wall is covered with a mural of the USA south, highlighting the regional bbq's. I have had better food and hospitality at dozens of bbq joints throughout the South. I accept part of the blame as maybe my expectations were too high. Just feels like an opportunity missed. All the local diners seemed to be enjoying themselves so they must be doing something right?

This place is located inside Oslo Central Station and it's an English style pub. As is the custom in England, you find a table first and then place your order at the bar. There is a wide selection of beer including some non-alcoholic options. Be sure to remember your table number when you go to place your order at the bar. Your drinks are provided at the bar when you order and food is delivered to your table. I recommend asking for a tray to bring your drinks to your table. There is also a screen displaying train departure times in the seating area. Ordered the fish and chips, which comes with smashed peas, and a 7fyell ale. The fish was hot and tasty, with a light breading. The fish itself was firm and the accompanying tartar sauce was a good compliment to the fish. Personally, I could have used a little more tartar sauce but made do with the amount provided. The chips/fries were hot and crispy, and the server brought along a basket with ketchup, salt, pepper, malt vinegar, and utensils. The smashed peas were a real treat! Service was quick and friendly. A good, convenient stop while in the train station or staying nearby.

Trying desperetly avoid going to McDonalds and thats when I found this place. The locale was a bit... wierd? It was in the cellar of a theater/cinema and when I got there the place was almost empty. Just a few Foodora guys in the doorway and a group of youngsters inside. I say youngsters but they was problably around 18+ and there was an event going "TeaterPils". My kind of people really, but seeing that I was only there to pick up a burger I sat on the sideline. So I ordered a Double Jucy, and I have to say right now that doing that was a BAD idea, and I had to wait. I waited for quite a while and it seems like the place is quite popular by Foodora orders. I had some problems communicating with the bartender as she took my order and I guess she aint quite used to people ordering to go in the bar. I got home opened the package. It was BIG. Fries all around in the box and they was quite good. Nothing special but decent. The dipping saus had a bit of a wierd taste at the start but got really good fast. And yes, I know that "wierd" is a bit loose term but I dont know how to explain it better. And the burger.. It was messy, the pattys was almost round and filled with cheese and when I bite in to it the cheese just oozes out. Delicious! I love cheese. But sadly other then the big pattys and the cheese the bruger dident have much going for it. There was supposed to be some caramelised onions, but I only saw like one or two small pices. And since it was so big I ended up eating it as a sandwich, with one of the pattys on one half of the bun. So, while I am a fan of this place I think that my first order was a bad one. To avoid long waiting time I would recomend ordering via Foodora But if you are a bigger group of people I recomend you to go down there on a sunday evening since they always have something going on then. I will defently be here again, trying out some of the more "exotic" choices. Sadly I got no pictures.
