Wanted to try this place. We walked in and we were totally ignored. Decided to sit in the bar area, sat there for 15 minutes and still no sign of a waitstaff. Went into the dining room to ask someone about service and the guy over there told us that, "to be honest, he's never seen anyone sit at the table in the bar area", I find it hard to believe that nobody has ever sat at a table in the bar area. Well we sat there anyway & guess what?? STILL NO SERVICE! Even after we told the guy we were over there! My hubby had to walk up to the bar to get our drinks, bartender seemed to favor the regulars. As we were sitting there WAITING at the table, I played some songs on the jukebox. The first song played fine, second song was turned off. Umm...don't they realize people pay to hear songs?! Why do they have a jukebox? My music being turned off was as rude as not getting any service, I think they should give me some money for that. Anyway.....waited 25 minutes and still no service so we left no had a fantastic meal at Dominick's in Washington Crossing. Old favorite of my family's. We love the bread that they serve at the beginning of the meal - we often order just the bread to go. We also look forward to the salads. The entrees are all classic italian dishes that allow for some customization if you ask the waiter - a liberty my family and I usually take. We like to order variations of gnocci with a gorgonzola sauce and their penne vodka. Also, lunch time prices are amazing! I'd recommend the place, especially because it stands out relative to what's in the area! read more

I frequently dine at Revere because of the casual ambiance and consistent Italian fare. If I can recommend one dish on the menu, PLEASE try the herbed chicken. It is prepared with an amazing blend of herbs and spices in a balsamic reduction skillet and comes out piping hot. If you live in the area I highly suggest going over to Revere. They also have a full bar and serve a complimentary bread with olive oil, parmesan and Italian herbs. read more

I have been to Revere a number of times and have always had a great experience. I recently went in for lunch and had a great Panini sandwich on fantastic "Hoboken" bread. The food is good here. The service is bad. And the timing of the kitchen is very bad. I was done with my entrée and the soup appetizer came out. WTF? Seems like the regulars have come to expect this quirk. If you don't mind having your order come out in stages that you might not expect then you should not have any issues. Only other suggestion is to go easier on the salt. If you have a salt dietary restriction, tell the wait staff. You might have a problem. read more

Went here for New Year's Eve as we have the last 5 years. We had a 7p reservation for 10 people. Had to wait 30 minutes no updates from the hostess. When seated we were met with a special menu which we were not expecting Every other year the regular menu was in place. Our waitress was spread very thin and service was slow. Mixed review. This was our first time there, and I've heard good things. The bread is outstanding. Drinks were good. Service was VERY slow and the T-bone was the worst I have ever had. Waiter misrepresented it. Suggested rare, Pittsburgh. It was incinerated. I know what to expect when you order Pittsburgh. This was not good!! Overcooked on the inside too and the garlic seasoning does not go well with char!!! It tasted like burning.....with herbs and garlic. It was terrible. Wish I had stuck with my original thoughts and gone Italian. The waiter talked us into the steak and it was a mistake.....plus it was super expensive for a meal none of us enjoyed. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. The waitress showed no interest in our table of 8. We took our seats around 7pm and did not receive our entrees until 8:50pm. The waitress showed no sympathy or remorse for the delay. Once the food arrived 3 entrees were completely wrong and the waitress did not know who ordered which dish. No manager came over to apologize or explain the reasoning behind this disaster. Will never return to this establishment. read more

Wow, maybe we caught it on a bad night but dinner last night was a total disaster. 45 minutes to get our appetizers and over an hour to get our entrees. My wife's salmon was so so over cooked it was practically inedible but didn't want to send it back because I did know how long it would take to get a replacement. the revere is really good food. i can't decide if i like the interior. it has it's good points and bad. i think it's just a little too dark. like, i have a hard time seeing the menu. the drinks are good and the waitresses are usually really cute, hey, i'm a guy, i'm just sayin' , is all. it's a little pricey but the food really is good. plenty of parking, the music...it's a little too small for a loud band to play in. the scott rednor band was pretty good , but the other bands are pretty bad. try and get there before the music starts. it often sounds like canned karaoke. did i say the food was good? because it just is. read more

From the second we walked in the door the service left little to be desired beginning with the dark haired late 30something grumpy waitress. We had reservations. We arrived to a 1/2 empty restaurant and were escorted to a seat about 2' from the door. We asked if we could sit at another empty table and were told those were all reserved, but not for us despite us having reservations. We were escorted to the back room that has no ambiance; it looks like the dining room at a senior citizen center; sad and brightly lit with a squeeky kitchen door too boot! Our now grumpy waitress was so annoyed, she didn't look at us when she spoke and huffed when we asked about specials. Yes, the bread is great. Thats about it. The manager with his dirty sneakers bussed the tables, never offered a refill on water or coffee. My husbands meal was sub-par; however my pork special was very good. Pre-dinner salad was brown and looked like it was thrown on the plate and 1/2 a cup of balsamic vinegar thrown in it. dessert stunk, homemade lava cake my eye, it was like a tastycake with a scoop of ice cream. We had an issue with the check that the manager could not comprehend and the owner, who was in the kitchen, would not come out to rectify. I would never return to this joint; nor would I recommend anyone to go. They need a serious attitude check, which explains the 1/2 empty restaurant at 7:30pm on a Saturday. I have only been here once, but I was very unimpressed. We went on a Sunday night in the fall. Football was playing over at a TV by the bar (not a huge problem, but the volume was turned up all the way) and music was blaring over by the dining area. This made for very awkward dinner conversation, either trying to talk over the music, or being distracted by the game. The food was very 'meh'. I got their 'famous' Pollo alla Erbe (chicken served on a sizzling platter finished in balsamic reduction). The chicken and the plate was SCALDING hot. I was never warned by the serve and I burnt myself. The chicken itself was over cooked, dry and the skin was burnt. The balsamic reduction was delicious though and I dipped my bread into it. My boyfriend ordered his favorite, classic chicken parm and not only did he not finish it (very rare for him), but did not bring home the leftovers. My boyfriend's parents both got the same entree, some sort of chicken special and they said they enjoyed their food. I would not rule this place out- I would definitely give it another try-- but there are other places in the area I would return to first. read more

When we finally got seated the meal took forever to arrive and 3 of 8 meals were wrong. Waitress had no idea who ordered what. Just had THE worst experience of my life at this restaurant! The waiter was rude, and the owner was even worst! The 'All You Can Eat' crab legs are not all you can eat. There is a limit of 5 clustered. A complaint was made about the smell of second cluster of crab legs. There was a strong chloride/ ammonia smell to them. The waiter debated with us about it and when the manager was requested and approached the table, he was rude as well. He didn't ask what our issue was but immediately started to get defensive. He walked away in the middle of us talking to him! I asked him what are we going to now, he responded (never turning around face me) "I haven't decided yet!" After several staff members walked by our table to listen to our conversation, the owner returned to tell us he was making a special batch just for us. Needless to say, that made us uncomfortable so we declined and asked for the check. When the check was bought to us the waiter was rude and argued with us again! It was a horrible experience! I've lived in the area since 1989. I've been an infrequent diner at Revere. Lately I've had three great meals, until tonight. Actually the food was okay to good, but the service was at an all time low. I get the feeling if you're not a " friend", they couldn't care less. Really enjoyed all my meals there. Ordered the seasoned chicken with the bollanaise. Very tasty and enjoyable. Good sized portions and well priced. In an area where there are so many Italian restaurants this one stands out. It is a must eat when in the area. Oh yes the bread is to die for. I have frequented this restraunt many times with my wife and family and enjoy the food tremendously; however tonight was an episode to rival Bar Rescue. The female manager or possible owner was clearly drinking and working on getting drunk and very vocally searching for her Jack Daniels. Unfortunately, my family and I were sitting beneith the order station/payment station with three or four very unprofessional servers loudly trying to figure out how to split up the check for a reception and who owed who tips. In addition, it seemed as if tonight was the waiter's first night serving ever. Due to our waiters lack of professionalism my wife had to leave the table refresh a couple drinks. Last, as we were just about to leave we were graced by the precense of a small dog in the restaurant and to my knowledge it was not accompanied by a blind employee or patron. Revere is authentic Italian food not somebody trying to be someone theyr not...the bar is small, dark and almost dungeonlike, similar to the inside of the restaurant...But isnt that what you want on a cold winter evening when you wanna gorge on pasta and sauce!?!? We have been loyal customers at Revere for several years , with same excellent satisfaction. We are there often for lunch and dinner in the same day. Also at least 2 times a week. I used to like this place. Our son was up from DC and I suggested we dine there. I made reservations and we showed up on time. It took a few minutes before hostess arrived and seated us inthe "other room" as the main room was almost full except for a table in the middle. We took her suggested and proceeded to the other room where there was only one other table of 8 taken at the time of our seating. Well, it took 20 minutes before we saw a server with menus. That should have been our clue. More time passed and a couple of other tables were filled. Anyway, by the time our order was taken, it was an hour before our food arrived. By this time were so frustrated we couldn't enjoy our meal. Obviously there was a shortage in the kitchen, servers or both. At any event it's inexcusable to be sitting for a meal that takes over 2 1/2 hours. Management needs a wake up call. Or the owner does. We won't be back and my friends will know about it as well. Old school Eye-talian joint that does a good job. Let's start with the food. The roasted peppers with melted cheese and anchovies was seriously the best appetizer I've had in recent memory...just amazing, even my wife who's not into anchovies loved it, the anchovies are just a perfect nuance to this dish. Pasta Bolonaise was really top quality, very rich and meaty. Veal saltimboca was just about average, good. Loved the room and the ambiance...old school Trenton Italian, feels like the 70's...my kind of joint. Service: took a while to get our 1st drinks and getting the entrees out took some time, but our girl was very nice and we were in no hurry. The bar was all local regulars but they were cool with us, looked like they were having a good time. On the outside patio were some more locals, a bit more than shady, kind of felt like they were the real, somehow "connected" owners of this place. I'd go back. read more

I went here with my friend and his family on a whim when we were passing through. The food was pretty good, the main issue is the pricing. They charge a lot for a pretty small glass for a drink and don't offer free refills. When my friend's mother confronted the manager about this she became very rude and defensive and that soured the experience. read more

My Girlfriend and I decided to have diner here for Valentine Day. We have ate here in the past and had a good enough meal to come back. Well that ended last night.. Let start with the hostess: We had reservations and got there early so we went to the bar and waited. We then watched the hostess seat numerous couple that were clearly walk ins. she completely forgot about us until we questioned her why we were not seated before these other people. She then took us to our table. The Table: We were seated at a table which had a clear view of the wait station and garbage and dirty dishes on a tray. The VD decorations they had attached to the ceiling tiles which were pushed up so the upper ceiling and all that filth was open above the diners. It took 15 minutes to get service. The waitress had to be reminded several times that we did not get our drinks. it was 30 minutes before they put bread on our table. We then ordered our meal which took an hour to come out. My NY strip which I ordered Med was rare and cold. The garlic mashed potato's were mush and tasted like box potato's. We then boxed up our food and went to the bar to have a drink and listen to Ernie White who is one of my favorite local musicians. We sat there for 10 mins while the blonde female bar tender talked with her friends and basically ignored us. We finally tired of waiting for this lazy bartender put on our coats and proceeded to leave. We then asked for the manager and had to wait another 10 minutes before one of the wait staff came to listen to our complaint. As we were stating our issues of the night The manager Joe D'errico who was outside smoking and hanging with his friends, walked right by us while we were talking to the waitress. The waitress offered to comp us a drink but at this point we had had enough and I wasnt spending another dime here. While talking to the waitress she related "They were having an off night" I spent 100.00 here and the best part of the meal was the bread. I wish that I could give this restaurant 0 stars. They ruined our Christmas eve dinner. This restaurant is the most unprofessional awful place I have EVER been to. We waited 2 hours and never got our dinner. We only saw the waitress a few times within this time waiting and every time we asked her what was going on she walked away. In this 2 hours of waiting only 1 of our appetizers came out (we had ordered 3) and it took 1 hour for my sons chicken fingers and fries to come out. Not ONCE did anyone explain anything to us or appoligize for such a long delay. We finally had enough I had to track down the waitress to ask for our check. After another long wait we finally received the check. Needless to say we left hungry and angry. A normal professional place would have at least apologized or explained why there was such a long delay. Needless to say I will never ever return to this place ever. It was supposed to be a nice Christmas eve dinner out and unfortunately it was ruined by the lack of professionalism and chaos that was going on here.
