This is definitely a great retro game place. The pricing is pretty average and reasonable. The store is pretty organized. I was sad they got rid of the CRT but they needed to make room for all the inventory. It has a pretty good selection of games. The staff is pretty nice. They also do sell cards there but they had another location with more inventory. The pack prices are msrp from what I can tell. It is pretty easy to find the games you want. I do think their inventory is always changing. There was less consoles then what was available last time so I can assume they price their consoles pretty well. They do refurbish their consoles before selling. They also have a disk repair machine. I saw them testing games which is a great sign. Overall this is a good retro game spot. The staff is super nice. They are testing their games and they are reasonable priced. read more

Came here to trade in some games. Dude offered me 5 bucks store credit for about 7 games. Took em to another shop and got 50 store credit. He did say they had a shit ton of xbox games but the other store had even more. These people will lowball tf outta you to maximize their profits. But hey can't say i don't respect the hustle. Prices are tax as well. This one ps3 game in particular was 20 here with a alright case. But the same game was 9 dollars with a cib case in beautiful condition at another store. went there found a mega man x and was wondering why it was $500 for the SNES CIB. and they told me "oh because it was in great condition it might as well have just been sealed" even though it didn't have the plastic around it. I asked how much they would give for an Adventure Island (goes for $415+ sealed) which had a small hole in the plastic seal in the corner. Since i was going off their logic with their mega man x. Store has a massive selection which will at first seem great but come to realize the reason this selection is extensive is because the prices are extremely above market value. Service is also extremely bad as the owners are rude to their employees and made me uncomfortable as a customer. They also seem to try and lowball trades in thinking that I don't know the value of the games I bring in. As I brought in a game that was well worth $450+ on price charting and the owner told me "game is worth $30 open best I can do is $70". Made a Yelp account just for this review. Came in here to buy a PlayStation 3 and a few games, and the staff was polite. Got the console and controller cleaned up when we were purchasing it and let us test out the console in the store before purchasing. When I got home, I noticed the left analog stick on the controller was sticky and I tried to fix it, but couldn't put the controller back together. I was quite frustrated by this, but when I went back to the store, RR gave me two DualShock controllers at no cost which was really unexpected. I really appreciate this gesture from them and will be returning for future game purchases for my PS3. read more

Super nice owner! a great selection of games for pretty decent price :) even gave my boyfriend random discount and we didnt notice till we left! He was very efficient and even cleaned the game discs for us before letting us leave with them. Awesome selection here of all gaming related merchandise. Super disappointed when I came to find out I purchased a bootleg copy from this store.. with all the issues I had with this GBA game I just decided to take it in to my local game store in Vancouver, WA to do a trade in. When I traded it in they actually ended up telling me my copy of final fantasy was a bootleg.. it was partially my fault for not knowing but also the owners fault for not realizing and catching counterfeit games before just receiving anything and throwing it on the shelf.. none the less the store in general was super enjoyable to look around and just speak to the owner. He was super friendly and nice but with how much stock they have I'm not surprised they had bootleg games for sale but in general that just makes them look bad for passing counterfeit games to sit on the shelf for sale. Quality over quantity in my opinion. Just know what a counterfeit copy looks like before selling.. read more

Friendly customer service, wide selection of product and reasonable pricing. I've been to this establishment numerous times ever since opening and the experience has gotten better and remained great ever since. Customer Service: At first staffing was pretty spotty. There would be times where I would walk in and there was no staff to be found for the first 5 or so minutes. (I think that was because they were still trying to get settled into the space... but still not really great to do.) However now a days the presence of available staff has been consistent and very helpful to me. They tended to all my gaming questions with great understanding and knowledge. There wasn't a question I had in mind were they were not able to answer with good reason and explanation. Very friendly vibes and kind responses. I also appreciate the amount of effort relating to me and others gamers within the store, that's building great rapport so good job on that and keep it up! Space & Merchandise: My first time being there everything was super spread out and awkward but after a month of them getting settled this space it blossomed! They have a wide selection of old games, systems, magazines and they even have figurines! The few games I had purchased were second hand products. They looked from about great to good condition and was working perfectly when trying them out at home. Also I personally didn't have this experience but I did see another client being able to try out if an old gameboy color cartridge was still in working condition and being pleased after doing so but again that wasn't my experience but I was happy to see them being able to confirm that the product did in fact work. I also had purchased third party console controllers and they also were in perfect condition and working smoothly! ALSO If you're just waiting on someone else they do have some consoles up a running for you to play while you wait for whoever which is very nice hahahaha Pricing: Looking at the games I did noticed that most of them didn't have price tags. That can be a little frustrating to have to ask each time but to me it not that big of a deal knowing that older games can fluctuate in price depending on demand/popularity/rarity/discontinuation of the game. When asking for prices I believe that they sell games at an average price range to what you usually see online. So yes certain games can be very pricey most of the time but for good reason and I'm not complaining about it. I also had sold a good bunch of games to them that I didn't use anymore. Just like the pricing they usually search up the average price of the item and gave me I believe 40-50% of that price. It doesn't sound like much but considering other places I've tried to sell games to this was way better than receiving almost nothing back from other establishments. It's the greatest not really but it better than most I've been to. ------ But yeah that was my experiences and thoughts of this place. Love the Retro Rewind. Why? Because I find decent things there and they offer great service as well as fair prices. Came in one day and bought a CIB GBA game and was also getting ready to purchase some cheapo/rando used game just for the ps1 case so I could've used it as a replacement. He stops me and offers me a couple of new and unused replacement cases for ps1 era games for free. That's why I'll always frequent this place. This is the place to be in the Bay Area if you love retro games. The owners care for their customers so much. I even took a bad copy of Super Metroid I got from another store, and they fixed it up for me no problem! The store has so much. I'm not much of a complete game collector, so I love looking at all their loose games on and off the shelves. If you are a complete game collector, they got you covered too, especially for Nintendo stuff. I discovered them last year when I bought some ps3 controllers from them, and have been buying games from here since. They really take care of you, and are just great to talk to. Love this place, a buddy and I come here almost every other weekend to kill time and checkout any new trade-ins. This place has a ton of inventory. Games are reasonably priced and his inventory is pretty large. If you're looking to pickup any consoles they have a great selection of less common consoles like turbo grapfx 16, SNES jr's, etc. They open up their consoles and clean them up along with any necessary repairs for common problems that a generation console may have. I highly recommend this place to anyone if you're retro hunting. read more

I would highly NOT recommend this place at all especially for non hardcore gamers looking to get a game at a fair price. I've been to the store multiple times with my family and here's our issues: 1.) UNFAIR PRICES - Many of the games are way over their actual market price (eBay, other game stores) despite their condition which can vary from torn labels and dirty cartridges. We saw numerous games being marked up 50-75% ABOVE actual prices that you can simply buy it now from eBay and it's a shame those price mark-ups are for games that aren't in good condition at all. 2.) CUSTOMER SERVICE... WHAT? - What seems to be approachable owners ends up being a tremendously frustrating and SHADY experience. Each of the times we walked in there were no staffers at all to be found at least for 10 minutes into walking into the store, no-greeting, nobody at the front register at all. Furthermore, some games don't even have prices and the associates have to alert the owner to open up their display cases just to get the game out, search online for a "fair price", basically ensuring that customers always pay at or above the market price. This is even more frustrating when it's a busy day and you can't decide if you would get a game because you have to wait a long time just to find out how much it is. Staff were clearly annoyed when we told them we wouldn't get specific games because the prices would be told to us AFTER they got the game out of the case. This place needs to mark prices for EVERY game out on the store floor to respect the time of the customers who go there. Furthermore we saw 2 respectable men try to trade in a large stack of GameCube games and they were trying to clarify something the owner was denying over and over again (probably market prices as they were showing him eBay on their phones)... and the owner was raising his voice to them in an accusatory tone. 3.) NOT ALL GAMES ARE GENUINE OR WORKING - We have several friends who have purchased games from here only to open up the cartridge and verify that they're actually NOT authentic or genuine like the store owners say they are OR flat out NOT WORKING. Basically they probably aren't opening up or testing each game that's traded to them. That means customers could be paying full price (AND MORE) for a game that's actually only worth a few dollars because they're fake or not working. A couple stories of friends who have bought games include games with cracks to the cartridge or cockroaches inside game system holdings. 4.) UNFAIR PRACTICES AT GAME SWAP MEETS - These are events where everyone can meet other gamers looking to resell their game collections or try to make a buck from collecting so many games themselves. For one we went to, we saw several people buying almost the entire inventory of other sellers at the BEGINNING of the Game Swap meet, probably to re-sell on their own. I'm not sure if Retro Rewind has any rules but that's despicable and rude for other customers looking to at least buy some good games from these game swap sellers. All of this is a shame because the store has a lot of items for all gaming systems. I guess you get quantity over quality here. I would recommend the other retro gaming stores in the South Bay. Avoid this place at all costs and don't say we didn't warn you. read more

This place is amazing! I originally came in to see if they had Mischief Makers for the N64. Even though they didn't have it, the owner was very helpful. He even agreed to fix my gameboy micro! I went back the next day to drop it off and got it about a week later. I'm super happy that I can play all my favorite gba games again! Thank you so much! First of all, Jalall and Huisain are some of the easiest people to talk to. They are very knowledgeable of their element, being video games. The store is very organized and fun to get lost in because they have so many different consoles and games spanning from many years of gaming. . The owners are extremely encouraging of allowing you to test a product before purchasing it. I recently did a trade with Huisain and was completely satisfied with it. What an awesome shop! I've been to many retro gaming stores in my life and this has to have the best selection I've seen. Very reasonable prices as well. I picked up puzzle fighter and a few other gems. My goal is collect all the games I've had I used to play as a kid. The store front is clean the customer service is very laid back and professional at the same time. I really like the vibe and will be coming back for many years to come. Just recently I've gone on a bit of a SNES kick, re-living my younger years on my favorite system. Finding a shop with a good stock of SNES games was a struggle though, a lot of stores had a few, but when I checked out Retro Rewind, they had almost every single one I was after. The owner and his nephew have been super helpful every time I've visited, cleaning the older carts to make sure they'll boot up without issues, giving advice on where to hunt down rare hardware, and letting me test-drive games on their in-shop SNES console. Really can't recommend them highly enough, I really hope they become a permanent fixture! read more
