I just had arthroscopic hip surgery. Prior to surgery Tony dropped off crutches, an icing machine, a brace, and a motion machine. Tony did a fantastic job explaining all of the equipment. He was also very prompt with scheduling and executing the appointment. For the equipment, the brace, crutches, and motion machine have all been great. The ice machine is really convenient, but it doesn't provide as cold of an icing experience as I prefer. Tony has been the highlight of my experience with the company. read more

I unfortunately chose to get my surgery done by a practice that does business with restore motion. Two days prior to my ACL surgery. I get a call from this Business that informs me that my doctor prescribed a knee brace a pair of crutches and a passive motion machine ( to be used as a rental ) and that they would be dropping all of these things off prior to my surgery. They informed me what my insurance would cover and would not cover and what my co-pay would be. With the optional ice machine ( which my insurance did not cover) I paid them a little over $300 . $120 for the brace and crutches and about an additional $ 200 for the ice machine . Flash forward to weeks after the surgery I get a bill for $788 for the brace. The Brace mind you does not even fit me. The crutches they gave me were for a 5'10 person or higher . The customer service for the drop off of these things was also bad . But the insurance fraud is again what really takes the cake the guy on the phone flat out lied to me about what my co-pay would actually be if you look at Google reviews you will see that the rating for this place is much lower averaging about 1 1/2 stars out of five all mainly due to Predatory billing practices/ insurance fraud . If you have a surgery scheduled with an office ask them if they do business with restore motion and if they do I would advise you not to get surgery done with that practice because any practice that would have a contract with this company does not care truly about your health they are just trying to make money off of you. read more

BEWARE if a representative from Restore Motion comes into your pre-op appointment. Do not take any device or equipment from them without confirming price and whether your insurance will cover it. Restore Motion charges double, and sometimes more, for devices that can be bought directly from the manufacturer. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. During my pre-op appointment the rep gave me a shoulder sling and told me the device would be covered by insurance as it is medically necessary after shoulder surgery. She never told me what the device cost, what they would bill my insurance, or gave me the option to buy it elsewhere. A month after my surgery I received a bill from Restore Motion for $190 for the full cost of the sling. Restore Motion was not in my insurance company's network so nothing was covered. The sling was listed for sale from the manufacturer for $82!! This was not a fancy sling--a couple of Velcro straps and a foam pillow. Their markup is astronomical and essentially robbery. The Restore Motion rep told me I would need some other items post surgery but told me I could purchase those elsewhere. Of course, I ended up not needing those things and spent money unnecessarily because of the misinformation I was given. I called the company several times and explained the situation. They initially blamed me for taking the representative's instruction and accepting the sling and buying the other products that she told me I would need. In the end, they said all they could do was offer a measly $38 discount. Even after the discount the product was nearly double the cost at other vendors. These representatives need training and should not be telling patients that they need unnecessary post surgical devices or that insurance will cover the costs of things. Had I known I could potentially be billed nearly $200 for a basic sling I would have certainly purchased it elsewhere. Restore Motion's practice is unethical and they were completely unapologetic throughout this process. 12/24 UPDATE in response to Brittney's message below: Once again Restore Motion is blaming the patient. Your representative explicitly told me that my insurance would cover the cost of the sling since it was a medically necessary device after shoulder surgery. Had she said to me that she cannot guarantee that my policy would cover the cost and in the event it's not covered I may be billed for the full cost that Restore Motion charges, which is nearly $200, then this would be a non-issue. The dishonesty and lack of transparency at your company is incredibly frustrating. Either your representatives are intentionally misleading to induce patients into taking your overpriced products or they are just incompetent. Either way the patient is the one who suffers in the end. read more

I have had two experiences with this company and they have both been amazing. From customer service reps over the phone, to in person equipment reps, everyone has been great. Two people, however, stand out the most. The first person was Jaime, she was very helpful and diligent in making sure I received the knee brace my doctor ordered. She came out and measured me and was very professional but even more so personable. The second person was Charles Slater. He helped with the fitting of my first knee brace and most recently my second knee brace and cpm machine for a surgery I had yesterday. Charles, like Jamie, was very professional and personable as well. But more importantly he was very thorough in his description on how to use each piece of equipment and he didn't leave until I was comfortable with everything. He also made sure to answer any question I had and he didn't get mad when my wife asked him to remove his shoes before entering our home lol. Keep up the good work you guys! Thank you. read more

One of their service managers, Lui came to our house, helped us set up the machine and instructed us how to use it actually did it incorrectly so my daughter was not able to get full benefit from the machine. I received a knee brace from Restore Motion, but after a couple weeks it broke and no longer fitted me. I did not advise them until after my orthopedic appointment a couple moths later when the Dr's PA told me the brace was doing me no good and needed to be adjusted. After calling Restore Motion twice, they basically ignored my concerns and never returned my calls. The brace doesn't fit and slides down my leg causing bruises on my calf. Received excellent service and care from Restore Motion. My ortho doc ordered a knee brace for me and the Restore Motion team was great! Ann in customer service was friendly and patient as she scheduled an in-home evaluation and then followed up within a week to make arrangements for delivery of the brace. Freddie Olvera came to my home to take measurements and then returned within a week with the brace. He was professional and caring. This company still owes me money. They overestimated what my insurance co-pay would be. Once I received my explanation of benefits from my insurance company, I reached out to request my credit refund. It's been three months and I'm STILL waiting. Every time I call I get the same response, which is, "we are working on it". Well it certainly didn't take three months for them to charge my credit card for my brace. The refund process should be much easier. I will NEVER use this company, nor would I recommend them!! read more

Horrible customer service. I was scheduled to have shoulder surgery and the rep at this company was supposed to call me prior and deliver my unit to my house. I called her and left her a message. She called me back later and made some excuse about being in San Diego. Instead of resting the day before surgery I was running around and driving to their office to pickup the unit and get trained on how to use it myself. I do not recommend anyone use this company. Are you preparing for surgery? Are you nervous and unsure what to expect afterwards like I was? Well let me share with you that with this company your in great hands! I had surgery Monday December 17, 2018 and was sent home with your average grey crutches that eat your armpits raw and cause you to be hunched over because it was all the surgery center had. They told me a company would reach out to me and set up delivery. Well next day (today) Tony reached out via phone and confirmed my address and the time with me and actually showed up AND on time! Now let me be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. I look and feel like a slug and wasn't sure what was going to happen.Tony was actually a dream come true. He showed up with the Lexus of crutches, fitted me for a custom brace, showed me the proper way to use my current brace and even adjusted it for me so it would fit better all without causing me any further pain or discomfort (which I was afraid of) and he was pleasant all while my dog screamed in his poor ear. Restore motion/Team makanea are liars and possible scammers I was told my knee brace would be covered by Medicare and BCBS insurance companies fast forward 3 plus years and I get a bill for it after being told by 3 different employees it was totally covered and when I called they were rude and disrespectful and told me I signed a agreement which I refused to when I received the brace telling the person I was promised it was all covered fast forward they send me a agreement with a forged signature DON'T TRUST This Company go elsewhere you will save yourself a lot of headache read more

Be very careful! My doctor ordered a TENS machine for my back. There was some delay in getting the machine as they contacted my insurance. A few weeks later, in March, a woman called for delivery. She said my insurance was approved and that my copay was $37. The machine arrived. I am now, in October, getting a bill (first one) from Restore Motion for almost $600. I offered to return the machine but they will not take it back. They will only accept a $150 cash payment, which gives you an idea of their markup. The machine didn't really work-also, I fortunately feel better..it's definitely not worth $600, could be worth $200, but you can order them for less from Amazon. I was misled by their sales representative and would not have purchased it at all if I knew. Shady, shady medical group. Also my insurance is Blue Cross, do it's commonly held insurance and they should know if Blue Cross covers it-I believe I was purposely misled. Got this resolved through the admin office. Not sure why but apparently my insurance company authorized a "procedure" date outside of their coverage (different calendar year) even though the appliance was actually delivered prior to the authorization date and my surgery didn't take place until months later.
