My son was in a motorcross accident and shattered both ankles. He is confined to bed and a wheelchair for at least the next 3 months. We borrowed an old wheelchair from his girlfriend's grandfather. I brought the wheelchair into U2 and met several of the gentlemen inside. These guys are great!!! They replaced the rubber on the wheels and changed out and repaired the axles. Actually had to manufacture a piece since the wheelchair is so old. The wheelchair is now like new. I can not say enough about these gentlemen's outlook on life and hospitality. Today I called about getting some help with my grandma's wheelchair. I needed to put 2 parts from an old wheel chair to a new one and it was very complex to try and do on my own. After calling a dozen places to get ahold of a wheel chair, I came across this place! Met Mike he was so wonderful and so helpful he lended a brand new wheel chair for me. After I was done with the wheel chair I needed some crutches, luckily they had a set available. They gave it to me! I offer to pay but they were so sure to let me have it! We have told them (John box)repeatedly this is not the chair. Dodges my calls for months. I finally asked for a refund and he sends me a warranty saying it's too late. After, being told by the owner of she's not happy with it she can take it back. Sales - avoids my calls. Then when I actually get him on the phone. It's not very helpful. We have been trying to return the chair. I think they dodged our calls so they can throw it in our faces to go away. Oh! And he did say there was a restocking fee, blah blah blah. We are VERY unhappy customers. I don't know if they work on commission. They sure as hell take your money and won't give it back. To John box: we told you from day 1 this was not the chair. Do the right thing and refund us and take your chair back!!! I paid 1700.00 for a chair I've been trying to take back. Never doing business with you again. read more

I bought a Rio Mobility Firefly from an online retailer. Long story short, Rio's installation instructions are outdated and don't provide accurate information for the current model. After days of trying to figure things out, I tried to reach them, to no avail. U2 is listed at the bottom of the Rio page w/ instructions for SoCal folx to contact them. Turns out that's also not quite correct but right away, I connected with John, who explained part of the issue. He then put me in touch with Mike, who provided detailed guidance over the phone. Mike also told me to reach out if I had any further questions and suggested I might want to come have them work on it. Another long story short, I gave up on trying to finagle the thing and made the 2-hour trek from Pedro to Corona and I'm so glad I did! Everybody at the shop was super friendly and helpful - not just to me but also to another (actual) customer I saw them helping. They even provide full sized snacks and drinks while you wait! I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the U2 team for servicing an item I didn't even buy from them. When it comes to wheelchairs & such, it's often not like cars, which you can just take to whatever mechanic you choose. So for Mike & John to make sure I was all set up properly and safely says a lot. I'll be sure to reach out to them for future purchases! read more

When my wheelchair blew a tire two weeks ago, I was frantic. I'm one of those dummies who absolutely requires a wheelchair to so much as move more than a few inches and doesn't have a backup plan in case the chair fails or goes out of service for whatever reason. So, when my only method of moving my heavy paralyzed ass from point A to B was not able to accomplish its primary goal, I called U2Mobility, Inc and spoke with John, the owner. He saved my day, and at a price point that I found extremely reasonable. Many of these mobility companies charge rather exorbitant labor rates - and I went into this without looking at pricing. It honestly didn't matter - I needed a working chair. Job done, chair working, YAY! I look at the invoice - price was roughly 1/3rd less than I was expecting, based on my prior experiences with other vendors. woohoo! Okay, well, I know who I'm calling next time I need to buy a part for the chair, a new chair, or have any work done on my 'ride'. Additionally, John also been able to help me on a separate occasion with obtaining a replacement part for the hand controls in my car without it being a long and involved complex. I was able to describe the part (with photographs), and he was able to procure it and sell it to me, no issues or headache involved as it usually is when I have to deal with any of the specialized automotive mobility operations. Twice he was able to come to my rescue and make things easy - and those of you who need things like wheelchairs and hand controls and such - you know that dealing with a lot of these mobility dealers can often be a headache... that's the difference so far. I have been diagnosing multiple sclerosis for almost 20 years. My mobility was getting worse. I had to rely on the wheelchair to get around. However, the wheelchair that Medicare approved it to me was very heavy. I couldn't lift it from the trunk of my car. I called Medicare and asked for help. However, they informed me that it was the lightest chair, 30 lbs, that they approved it to me. I was so sad. I had to find a solution to get back my life. I did the research online and found the company called U2mobility, Inc. They do carry the lightest chair for the disabled. I called them and John, the owner of U2Mobility, introduced the customized lightest chair to me. It was amazed. I could lift it. I could put it into my car or get it out of my car. I was so happy. But, Medicare was not approved it because of the cost of the chair. If I wanted this chair, I had to pay it myself. Because John knew my situation. I couldn't work. They were incredible. My mobility scoter died while we were on a River Boat trip. We brought it back as luggage figuring there was little hope. The scoter was made by Tzora (company from Israel ... who knew). They patiently tracked down the missing part (it took forever) got it fixed and I've got it back. I have known John Box for over 20 years, we 1st met when I was leaving rehab and my parents was scared and nervous because an "Extra Long" wheelchair frame was ordered for me in error by National Seating and I wasn't going to be able to get around in my house. John heard about what was going on and told my parents to stop by his office on our way home. He gave me a loaner wheelchair and reordered the correct size for me.
