Tips: Bring body lotion and comfy clothes to change into. (They provide towels, shampoo/conditioner and body wash.) During colder months, consider a hair shammy bc there isn't a hair dryer. Super happy I found this place. I'm recoverng from some reconstructive foot surgery...ouch! I was…read moresearching for a physical therapy place that was in my Aetna network and I wasn't having a lot of luck. I was about to give up hope and go to another physical therapy place. this "other" physical therapy place I questioned their business practices...this particular place told me that they weren't in my network; but as a courtesy to my doctor, they would take a $15 co-pay from me...WTH I didn't think that was possible since I don't have a copay. I won't name this Pt Center. I'll just say they are located on Main St in Hackensack across from Target :) So back to Jag. very friendly staff, they are a fun bunch people to be around but at the same time they get down to business. The staff at the front desk...very competent and super nice (Joy and Kim) As for the therapists let's see...there's my main person PT Annie, there's PT Jeff, PT Liz...they are all great! Then there's the support therapists (I guess this is the appropriate term) so there Ooch (nickname), Hussein, Marcos, Gianni...they are all a great group of folks. I come in the evenings now since I'm back at work there are a couple of other student therapists in the a.m. hours and they were very nice as well. I have a love/hate relationship with physical therapy. Physical therapy can hurt especially post-op. The hut is in a good way though since the next day you feel fantastic! I know i still walk very slow, with a cane and limp but each day I get better and better. I'll be back to that spin bike and power walking in no time. Unfortunately, no more bootcamp, kickboxing :( but that has nothing to do with my therapists it's due to the type of reconstructive surgery that was performed. Back to physical therapy tonight...i just hope they are playing some good 80s music to keep me from falling asleep after a long day of work. If in need of physical therapy, try Jag out. You won't be sorry...P.S. they also won't throw you in a corner and forget about you like some therapy places. They will keep you going and make you feel so much better :)

If this were a month ago, I would have rated this place (in Fair Lawn) five stars because of how…read morethey helped me six years ago when I was having back issues. It took a few visits to the chiropractor and a lot of massages but eventually, my back healed. Recently, after a very unfortunate visit to a physical therapist at another outlet (where they seemed far more interested in making money at the patient's expense and less in treating people like they weren't disembodied dollar signs), I decided to go back to Select Wellness. Given my very positive history with them, I thought this would be a shoo-in. A month ago, I started experiencing some recurring knee stiffness and slight soreness following strenuous workouts at the gym. Yes, I'm old but I've always been in good shape and have always exercised. The first PT told me I had a slight swelling in my knee (which I didn't see--she told me I wouldn't but she could as she's trained) and suffered a mild knee sprain from "wear and tear." Well, the PT at Select Wellness was very condescending. She laughed at me that I didn't see the swelling (yeah because the protuberance is so obvious--RME). I ignored her jabs as I wanted to focus on the healing. I have to say her initial round of exercises were helpful. But again, I really don't need for someone to be nasty toward me because I don't have a trained PT eye when it comes to swelling. I just wanted my knee to be on the mend--that is all. On the third session, she didn't even take me (and naturally, Select Wellness didn't even tell me about the change beforehand as I'm clearly just a number/a meaningless abstraction to them) but farmed me out to an aide or fellow PT. Good god. He did an exam on me that didn't even seem to take account anything that my regular PT had done. I'm not even sure the regular PT even wrote anything down regarding her work with me--that's how much I was a second thought to them and the office (probably because she can't earn as much money from me). Anyway, this guy examined me and was astonished that someone of my age would be in good shape. Yeah, I'm old but not THAT old. Then he had me do a series of exercises like squats, which my first PT at the other office told me NOT to do. He also put for some unfathomable reason decompression tape on my knee and told me to leave it on the next day. And then to top it off, he made very ageistic cracks about me--that my condition was a result of aging and eventually I would need a knee replacement like him. Forget about the fact that I did NOT tear my meniscus, tested negative for ACL and ligament injuries. Anyway, I took that tape off later that night as I found it put too much pressure on my knee. You know what ensued from the squats and all the exercises he forced me to do--intense pain and soreness, which I didn't have when this whole thing started! Now I need physical therapy for the physical therapy. If you want to feel like a number and have arrogant PTs make fun of you, then go here. But please don't. You know what really upsets me about this whole experience, even with the arrogance and the ageistic jabs? I still trusted them based on my past history with Select Wellness. And now I feel my trust was violated. Again, please avoid this place like the plague.

They require you to sign off on the legal document that is a combination of Hold Harmless if they injure you, and a list of service that are included in service your purchased. I listed on the document that I had an injured right arm, and believed that that would indicate they would treat that area with care!! One of the services listed was a change of clothes, so that I assume you change into those clothes for the massage. Despite purchasing a 90 min massage, I was led into a non-private room where there were other customers being worked on... I was never given this change of clothes. So the message person gave me a message through my street clothes...shirt and shorts! I was surprised, as I have had massages before and never have they not provided the message spa wear so that you get the proper benefits of a therapeutic massage. Masseuse did not speak English well, and proceeded to twist my injured arm behind my back [to stretch it]! I said that hurt and she chuckled ! I was shocked that they disregarded the note on my intake form stating that that arm/shoulder was injured. Furthermore, she worked unusually long on my left inner thigh at the juncture of my leg and hip joint, and lower back near my kidneys. I experienced severe pain in three areas after this message for three weeks! : My left hip joint, my lower back / kidneys, and my right arm. Very memorable as a non-enjoyable experience. Buyer beware!
