Dr. Andrew Brief, now affiliated with Orthopedic Group LLC in Ridgewood, performed a second surgery on my ankle. Weeks after the surgery, my foot was numb all the way to my calf and knee. Multiple calls to his office, he is never available to respond. I would leave a voicemail message to his nurse, who would call me back, not having an answer, will call me after conferring with the doctor. Several months after the surgery, numbness did not go away. Dr. Brief dismissed me by saying he did not know what happened and this had never happened to him. He dismissed me and referred me to a pain management doctor. Several tests later, it was discovered that Dr. Brief caused nerve damage to my foot, hence the numbness. The nerve damage is permanent and I will suffer for the rest of my life. The swelling and the pain were also unbearable, which he could not explain. I visited multiple surgeons and had surgery number three, to repair the torn tendon in my ankle. My surgeon could not believe the sloppy surgery that was performed and the size of the scar tissue that was never removed from surgery number one. Dr. Brief is not only an arrogant individual, he is the worse surgeon. He treated me as if I was a burden after the surgery. He could not be bothered by me or my pain. He was unable to provide me with answers, and now I know why. He messed up and refused to take responsibility to his own actions. If you are ever referred to him, run the other direction.

Kessler Rehabilitation Center: Where Recovery Meets Compassion…read moreMy 5 Star Review If you are looking for a place where compassionate care meets expert rehabilitation, the Kessler Rehabilitation Center at 194 The Plaza in Teaneck, NJ, is the ideal choice. A top-notch rehabilitation center should provide a welcoming environment, skilled therapists, and a supportive staff dedicated to your recovery. This 5-star review is long-due, as I experienced all of this at Kessler. First impressions matter. Before even stepping foot into the facility, my initial interaction with Kessler was through a phone call to confirm the location and hours. The person who answered the phone wasn't even the main receptionist, she was the backup, yet she was outstanding. Her professionalism, warmth, and lively spirit were tops for me. Even though she wasn't the primary receptionist, she took the time to verify the details I needed, answered my questions, joked with me, and made sure I felt comfortable before moving forward. That level of service made a lasting impression and gave me the confidence to book my first appointment. Sade - The Heart of the Front Desk. From the moment I arrived, the first person I encountered, and the one I saw on every visit was Sade. From day one, she was fantastic, not just in how she treated me, but in how she interacted with every single patient who walked through the doors. Sade has a lively spirit and has always maintained an upbeat attitude. She consistently greeted patients with a warm and genuine smile, creating an inviting and stress-free environment. Sade was efficient, organized, and patient with everyone, ensuring that check-ins and check-outs were seamless. No matter how many patients arrived at once, Sade never appeared overwhelmed, and never made anyone feel like just another name on the schedule. At least when I was there, she didn't. She managed my appointments flawlessly, always making sure they fit into the schedule I mentioned during my first visit. For me, she was the face of Kessler, making the facility feel like a place where people genuinely cared about your well-being. Jessica - My Primary Therapist & a True Expert Jessica was nothing short of amazing. Don't let her soft-spoken voice fool you. She is extremely knowledgeable, highly organized, and deeply compassionate. She was always on top of my schedule, explaining each exercise in detail, ensuring I understood its purpose and how it would aid my recovery. Her attention to detail and ability to adjust treatments based on my progress made me feel confident. One of the things I appreciated most about Jessica was that no question was ever considered stupid. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly, ensuring I felt comfortable and fully understood what I was doing. Her patience as a true professional and her willingness to answer every question made a significant difference in my confidence throughout therapy. Helene - A Phenomenal Therapist & Master Multitasker. Helene joined my sessions when Jessica was unavailable and became my exit therapist. She maintained the same high level of care that I received from Jessica. Helene brought a different energy to our sessions--more assertive yet equally dedicated, knowledgeable, and attentive. One of Helene's most impressive qualities was her extraordinary ability to multitask. On multiple occasions, when she was the only therapist onsite, she managed everything flawlessly. She had an uncanny knack for tracking each patient's progress simultaneously, knowing if someone was on their 27th rep, checking in when another patient who had been on an exercise too long, and keeping everyone engaged and on track. Even while managing multiple patients, she never let my quality-of-care drop. You had to see it to truly understand how impressive it was. And I must add, I loved Helene's incredible voice. She had a tone, clarity, and presence that could easily make her a broadcaster. Every time she spoke, her voice commanded attention. It was strong, engaging, and impossible to ignore in the best way possible. While it may not directly relate to the therapy itself, her voice carried a natural authority that made everything she said even more impactful. This added an extra layer of confidence to her instructions, enhancing the overall effectiveness of my sessions. Final Thoughts - A Rehabilitation Center That Delivers on Its Promise So, if you are searching for a place where a rehabilitation center that truly delivers on what it promises, offering expert care, a welcoming atmosphere, and a team genuinely invested in your recovery, then look no further than Kessler Rehabilitation Center at 194 The Plaza in Teaneck, NJ. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with professionalism, warmth and a level of service that goes beyond expectations. It's a place where every staff member is dedicated to helping you heal, improve, and leave stronger than when you arrived. Kim Jones-McKnight

His holistic approach I great. He would not force you to do now than you can handle and when it came time for stretches he did not force my body but actually worked with it and respected the limitations. Not only David but the whole staff is extremely friendly. Kim is an amazing person who genuinely cares and will help you with whatever you need and do her best to work with your schedule. I recommend anyone who needs PT to go to this location you will not want physical therapy to end. I would go back there if I ever need to.

His entire staff are all very knowledgeable and educated about anatomy, exercise, pain and treatment. During my sessions, I am one on one with my physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. If they happen to be doing two people at the same time, the other physical therapist or assistants will watch and make sure I'm doing my exercises correctly. The atmosphere is not only helpful and productive but also fun. I honestly look forward to coming here and just casually chatting with Lawrence, Moise and other patients. Everyone is so nice and friendly. If you need physical therapy for whatever reason, I very highly recommend Edge. They take excellent care of their patients here.
