This review is being reluctantly drafted due to a horrible dining experience I had last night at Caesar's Tijuana during dinner service. The minimum star rating any food establishment should be awarded is 3 stars if they are trying, and a two stars if the staff were careless, inattentive, or did not provide a minimum service. When the food quality is sub-par it is my experience to give the kitchen one more chance without docking any stars. 1 star ratings are seldomly and reluctantly awarded.
Last night, January 30, 2020 is a dinner service that I will never forget. I have dined at Caesar's Tijuana a dozen plus times in the last year and a half. So far, every experience has been an average experience. Last night, the dinner service was different, the staff were inhospitable, conflictive, and were caustic in their demeanor towards myself and several other guests that were seated adjacent to my table. Apparently, the kitchen was running behind on some orders and the waiit staff were getting anxious because the kitchen was running behind. When I arrived, I was greeted, seated in a center section closest to the bar, and handed a menu. Because I have dined at Caesar's Tijuana on several occasions I already had my order lined up. Minutes later, I ordered a Caesar's salad, cocktail, a medium rare steak, and I ordered an appetizer to go. Well, both the salad and the appetizer were served at the same time, no worries, I can tackle both. The salad was prepared at my table, I enjoyed the amazing Caesar's salad. The appetizer was cold, greasy, and had what looked like some sour cream or dressing from another dish that had spilled or dropped on it. I immediately tasted the appetizer and sent the appetizer back because it didn't pass any of the three tests, it looked bad, it smelled bad, and it tasted bad. The moment I sent the appetizer back my waiter started ignoring me. Now the waiting game ensued. Cocktail was never served, my waiter passed me a dozen times in a half an hour, the cocktail, the medium rare steak and appetizer were never served. During that half an hour, I asked my waiter for my meal twice, I ordered another cocktail that also never served. After a half an hour of waiting with no service, I asked for my bill. Surprise! Bill included two cocktails, a salad, an appetizer, and a steak. The only items I received were the salad and the appetizer which I immediately sent back. Taking into account this new level of pettiness, I spoke to the manager who repeatedly apologized about the kitchen being slow, he was nice enough, but he ordered me to pay the full bill and wait for my steak to boxed as a to go order. I asked for the appetizer to be removed from my bill, request denied. I then asked for the appetizer to be served or boxed to go, the manager agreed, but that never happened, because after another half an hour of waiting at the bar, my steak and appetizer were never served. I was billed for a medium rare steak, a caesars salad, an appetizer and two drinks. Award given to Caesar's management for this new level of sub-par and lackadaisical pettiness. I spent an hour and a half waiting for my meal. Waiter acted like he was doing me a favor by taking my order. The manager and the waiters act like best friends and they make rude and sexually explicit comments of the females that dine at the restaurant. Where I was seated, I could clearly hear the explicit comments made by the waiters of an older lady that was three tables away. I agree that the lady looked great, but the comments made were college fraternity grade explicit, and involved two of the waiters explicitly having their way with the lady. Inappropriate. Borderline gross. I would not expect these comments from two waiters at Caesar's Tijuana.
Please have management step up the food service, and teach the waiters that customers are always listening. While at work, sexually explicit jokes should not be made of female customers, especially when other customers are listening.
Caesar's Waiters, rude and disrespectful sexually explicit comments, shame on you! Shame on you! read more
