My lovely wife and I celebrated our second year wedding anniversary walking about Luzern. We had been told of this place, with terrific meals; Villa Hausermatte.
We found the secluded gate entrance for the restaurant after walking up the Haldenstrase. We proceeded to the house, and were greeted by a friendly host and wait staff.
Our ability to translate the menu was limited, and the wait staff understood and accommodated of our communication barrier. We had fun making our selection as we sipped on one of our favorite Spanish red wines.
The chef kindly came out of the kitchen to facilitate our selections. He recognized our desire for a good dining experience and our special day. He asked what types of things we like to eat. We advised him of our desires and he departed no worries.
Shortly we were presented each with a beautiful appetizer sampler consisting of salmon roe, sushi roll, and three other tasty delights.
The salads were fresh and tasty.
Our main course was a medium rare beef filet, with fingerling potatoes, steamed spinach and broccoli florets.
Dessert was offered, but we choose cappuccinos instead.
Our experience was memorable because the staff was so accommodating, the food was delightful, and the Villa Hausermatte is a gem.
