We made reservations for dinner. Pleased to be quickly seated without any wait time. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The food was delicious, highly recommend the veal spaghetti and the ravioli. It was fresh and so flavorful! Very nice ambiance, the place is very nicely decorated. Staff was helpful and attentive. They had a huge wine list!

Delicious lunch, super attentive staff, beautiful atmosphere. Quick service. The place filled up fast. We were only in Lucerne for the morning, would have loved to try their dinner. Would definitely go back.

5 star reviews are hard to come by for me- this place deserves 10! We have been to Italy, France, and now Switzerland- not been impressed by food in Switzerland so far (other than a pizza place (la bestia) but this place is amazing! Every dish we had was AMAZING- tagliatelle, grilled squid, veal and lamb- even the wine was one of the best. Definitely must try!

If you're in Lucerne and craving excellent Italian food, come to La Cucina. Expect very solid Tuscan style Italian fare, professional staff, and outstanding house made lemon cello in an unpretentious and casual dinning environment. Be aware the lemon cello is very potent and strong. The house made ricotta spinach ravioli CHF 24 and veal with parmesan saffron risotto CHF 27 were some of the standouts.

Had dinner here during one of our free nights while in Lucerne. Initially booked a 7pm reservation while heading up to Mt. Pilatus. Even though service was choppy at 6000 ft elevation, I was confident online reservation went through. We came in at 6:30 and our rsvp was nowhere to be found. We were seated as a walk in guest next to the raging hot brick oven as most of the tables were reserved. I was turning lobster red from the heat so we were moved two spots over next to a very nice couple from Florida. Glad that we end up next to unexpectedly delightful company who were a joy to converse with because the main courses were not impressive at all. I had the grilled squid which superb. It was cooked perfectly, tender, juicy and hint of seafood sweet. The seafood pasta was meh... only ate the mussels. Hubby had tenderloin which was really good. Dessert on the other was extraordinary. Boo had the tiramisu and I had the oh so exquisite passion fruit mouse. I almost licked my plate clean it was so decadent. Service was excellent, loved the open kitchen, huge columns and super cool ceiling.

Very good Italian food. The waiter was also very entertaining and nice. The only improvement could be to cook their pasta a little more on the al debate side. Dinner * Grilled calamari salad (Great) * Tuna tartar (Good) * Pasta with truffles (Excellent) * Parpedelli veal ragu (Great) * Panna Cotta (Excellent)

La Cucina is a cozy bustling Italian restaurant with fantastic ambiance and excellent food. We went there on the recommendation of our hotel's concierge and were happy that we did so. I had the eggplant millefeuille to start and then a half portion of the pasta with truffle sauce, both of which were delicious! My husband had spaghetti Vongole which he really enjoyed. We had our meal at the bar and were waited on by Luca who was very friendly, professional and spoke great English. He gave great food recommendations and was a highlight of our visit. Definitely recommend!

Eh hmmm (clearing my throat)...DELICIOUS...PHENOMENAL...AMAZING! My dining companion and I had an amazing experience at La Cucina. I'm so glad we choose this place to eat in our one free night in Lucerne. We ordered so much food just in case we would not make it back. We traveled from Germany. We started with the Burrata and Tomato and a Mixed Green Salad. The Burrata was just so fresh and flavorful. The mixed green salad was nice as well. It's your standard salad with a house vinaigrette. I order a salad pretty much everywhere I go. It was certainly satisfying. Then we ordered the truffle pasta as a sorta second/third course. My dining partner wanted to lick the plate. She loves truffles. The pasta sauce was everything. Then, we had the pizza. The pizza was my favorite of the night. Yummy doughy goodness. And we ended with the prawns with lemon risotto. The risotto was worth the order. I will say the prawns did not taste like it was seasoned not even with any salt. But adding the tapenade to a bite of the risotto and prawn made the bite very pleasing to the palate. Before I forget, The complementary bread was just that. I made a mess as you can see from the picture of me trying to hide the spot. The tiramisu was the creamiest tiramisu I've ever had. My dining partner said initially she didn't like tiramisu but she doesn't like the coffee part of the dessert. But she loved this version. It's more cream than coffee. I loved it as well. And lastly, because I forgot, we ordered a bottle of a Swiss Pinot Gris. And it was really good. I also had a glass of the d'asti and it was delicious too. Fabulous experience. Must dine here if you're in town. And I'd be remiss not to mention our waiter. My dining partner knows him name and I've forgotten because I suck. But he was amazing. Service was amazing. And he was not annoyed by all of our questions. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had.

Fantastic service. Amazing homemade ravioli with mushrooms. Scrumptious truffle pasta dish. The staff are so welcoming. Will be back! This is a must when in Lucerne!

We quickly learned that portions are huge, and very little English is spoken at these smaller places. No worries though...after stumbling through ordering a beer (easy to order) and a Chardonnay (a little different) we ordered a large salad and a pizza to share. Service was excellent once we overcame the language barrier, and the large house salad (Gruner salat), and a combo pizza (stagioni) for 10.50 and 23.50 Francs were excellent! The staff are very pleasant and accommodating...we found one waitress who spoke English. This is definitely a popular place for families and locals and can be very busy. It's cute; quite small, but highly recommended off the beaten path restaurant!

First off, there were four of us, two adults two kids and they insisted we must order 4 pizzas. Ofcourse the pizzas are huge and as a result there was a lot of wasted food. Maybe this is a Swiss thing that anyone occupying a seat must spend a minimum amount, but if so, what a sucky way to run a business. Next when it came time to pay, the guys says "you must pay cash". Now I wish he had told us that earlier, not sure what we would have done had we not had cash. This was the first place in all of Switzerland in our 2 week trip here that demanded cash. But there was a reason for this as we'd find out soon. The bill was a little over CHF 100. I handed him CFH 110. He prompted gesticulated "ok? Ok? Finish".. clearly indicating that we wanted to keep the change as a tip which he did! Overall shady service designed to cheat foreigners.
