Cabrese pizza - could share depending on how hungry you are

Fantastic small restaurant with nice outdoor patio. Wonderful service and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend - not unusually pricy compared to other places and food was quality good- and just the perfect portions so you don't leave there stuffed.

This is a pretty good place - it was recommended by a local jewellery merchant that we bought from earlier, so being the hungry tourists we were, we decided to leverage their advice in an attempt to avoid Lucerne's typical tourist traps. My parents and I ordered three pasta dishes each - out of all, I thought the Spaghetti w/ Shrimps was very good / underrated, followed by the Prawns with Linguine The prices are a good 10% less than the surrounding area, and the Einhorn features a neat patio to look at passer-Byers.

Great Italian food and the desserts especially, were just brilliant! There were three of us and mum got a veg pizza, which was pretty decent (she wished the toppings were more US style), and the green salad to share with me which had an amazing balsamic dressing. I ordered a trio of pasta, which came in the colours of the Italian flag - top taste was fettuccine pasta with pesto, second ranked was fusilli in tomato sauce and then the gnocchi in Alfredo cream sauce. Then unfortunately, we come to the only sour note to an otherwise wonderful lunch, when my brother got the salmon risotto. He really disliked this as it was too cheesy for him, but also the risotto was undercooked. I tasted it too and agreed with him and it's the only reason why it's a 4 star review instead of 5. For dessert, mum and I split the tasting trio and my brother got the tiramisu. This was excellent. It was little bites of perfection and just right with the level of sweetness. I plan to go back again before leaving Lucerne.

    Nice place...very comfortable.

Pasta was bland and horrible with a fly hovering around all the time. Pizza was decent. Worst part is the water glasses smelled like egg

We were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside and were quickly shown to a table. Since we had had a long day we weren't starving, and asked if we could split the buffalo and mozzarella cheese appetizer and the tagliatelle with black truffles main pasta dish. No problem. We started with a glass of prosecco and bread with olive oil, salt and pepper and two other dipping sauces. We didn't ask for anything and our every need was anticipated. Our starter came timely and was delicious. Our pasta was split into 2 portions and I couldn't eat all of my portion and gave the rest to my husband. The truffle sauce was perfect and not overbearing. Service was outstanding. Our water refilled frequently. The manager / maitre de greeted us as we left amd asked us how our food was and thanked us for coming in. Honestly, one of the best meals and service I've had in a long time.

Strongly recommend you check this place out! We hope to return!

We quickly learned that portions are huge, and very little English is spoken at these smaller places. No worries though...after stumbling through ordering a beer (easy to order) and a Chardonnay (a little different) we ordered a large salad and a pizza to share. Service was excellent once we overcame the language barrier, and the large house salad (Gruner salat), and a combo pizza (stagioni) for 10.50 and 23.50 Francs were excellent! The staff are very pleasant and accommodating...we found one waitress who spoke English. This is definitely a popular place for families and locals and can be very busy. First off, there were four of us, two adults two kids and they insisted we must order 4 pizzas. Ofcourse the pizzas are huge and as a result there was a lot of wasted food. Maybe this is a Swiss thing that anyone occupying a seat must spend a minimum amount, but if so, what a sucky way to run a business. Next when it came time to pay, the guys says "you must pay cash". Now I wish he had told us that earlier, not sure what we would have done had we not had cash. This was the first place in all of Switzerland in our 2 week trip here that demanded cash. But there was a reason for this as we'd find out soon. The bill was a little over CHF 100. I handed him CFH 110. He prompted gesticulated "ok? Ok? Finish".. clearly indicating that we wanted to keep the change as a tip which he did! Overall shady service designed to cheat foreigners.
