Popped in on a rainy night in Lucerne without a reservation. We were sat immediately. Every single staff we interacted with were prompt, professional, and surprisingly kind. Leka was our server. The restaurant was casual but was still quiet and somewhat reserved. There were a handful of families and some small children; no one felt out of place. The food was unbelievable! The pizza was perfect and all of us enjoyed the well balanced flavors. One of the waiters warned me the Piccante was spicy, but I found it mild with just a little kick. Every dish was delicious and we left feeling quite full. After a long day of walking and enjoying time by the river, this was a perfect spot for sitting down and filling up. Delicious food, warm place to relax, clean toilets, nice place to chill-eat a good burger, pizza, steak!

BRUSCHETTA ALLA CASALINGA and the CARBONARA were incredible and the Chianti offered was delicious, as for the ribeye I thought it was overpriced for a steak without sides. The service was very slow but the server was excellent when available. We were able to get in without a reservation which was a pleasant surprise. read more

Very grateful this restaurant was open on Sunday's since a lot of restaurants in this town are closed on Sunday's. They didn't require a reservation either which was perfect! Tons of seating inside and outside. The menu was mainly pasta dishes, we enjoyed tortellini and a linguini with a vodka sauce. The tortellini dish was a smaller portion size so you might want an appetizer first if you choose this dish. The linguini hit the spot, the sauce tasted like it was made fresh that day and the pasta was cooked to perfection. We also tried their house white wine, went great with our pasta dishes. Walking around the streets of Luzerne, eating out was a bit intimidating due to the high prices. I noticed that Italian restaurants leaned towards the lower values in terms of Swiss francs, and ended up eating at La Fenice one night. Super hungry, I ordered the ''spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino,'' not only because it's one of the cheapest pastas, but simply because I love me some garlic & olive oil :) The pasta was perfectly cooked and the olive oil coating that served as the sauce was super mouthwatering, even as I chewed. Brown bread is complimentary, so go ahead and dip it in your pasta sauce. I also got a taste of one of their creamy-tomato-based fettuccine dishes, and it was also delicious! A glass of a good Merlot wine was only 6 francs, which completed the meal quite nicely. The waiters were very friendly and all seemed to speak a little bit of English, so don't worry too much about not understanding! read more

This is a beautiful Italian restaurant nestled into sweet downtown Luzerne. We decided to have dinner here because the prices looked fine and it was pretty inside. Our waiter was very friendly and patient with me and my all too entertaining German. He was a bit funny too... when my boyfriend ordered 4dl of wine he said... "you could also order 5dl..." To which bf responded "yes... and I could also order 6..."... what? hahaha, so strange. There wasn't any discount for ordering 5 over 4. Anyway, after dodging his not so suble attempt of selling more wine we chose a calzone and some pasta with broccoli, cream sauce and carpaccio? I think that's what it's called. Both dishes were very good. I enjoyed my creamy pasta and the calzone was massive and tasty too. I like that a lot of places give a complimentary side of spicy sauce if you want more kick. I went there with my family last night. We chose this place based on other reviews. This place could have had 5 stars as food is amazing and we got starter size plates not main dish and were good size for the price. One star deduction is for the waitress. There is something uneasy about her. She seems to recommend and push for the more expensive items including the night specialty pizza and suggest more items salads. We asked here about four different pizza and she could not describe any of them but said we should get the speciality. Plus at the end when I paid cash I was planning on giving tip but she walked away without returning change just put the cash quickly in here purse and walked away without saying anything! It was a little more than what I had planned to give as a tip but by much but just the principle here that was a little bothersome. Anyway, we got pizza for starters: the fiorentina had mushroom spinach buffalo mozzarella and an egg on top and it was good with thin over brick crust and the marghariassomo pizza had arugula tomatoes ricotta and also was tasty. We tried various pasta dishes which as lasagna and gnocchi pasta with shrimp and pasta with salmon. All pasta had white creamy sauces except the lasagna had read sauce and beef cheese filling. Tasty all around. My done got the tagliatelle which had a creamy garlic cheesy sauce with linguini and mushroom. That was a great dish! This was the first restaurant I ate at while in Lucerne, and it was very welcoming for a foreigner. I arrived on Sunday when all the shops in the Old Town are closed, so finding a place to eat at was a little tough (especially when I didn't speak the language and couldn't read any menus posted outside of the restaurants). My co workers and I stumbled upon a sign that said "Pizza, Wine, Pasta," and since we were hungry and was familiar with the foods listed on the sign, we decided to give it a shot. The waitress was very accommodating and helpful since she knew we were not from the area. She tried her best with translating whatever she could from the menu so that we would know what we were ordering, which was very nice of her. I ended up ordering a meat lovers pizza with sausage, pepperoni and capicola and I had a beer on the side (I believe it was an Eichoff). You can never go wrong with pizza, and what I liked about their pizza was that it was very light. The crust was thin and crunchy which was a good change from the thick crust that i've been used to from American pizza. I would recommend using their spicy olive oil sauce with the pizza as well (it seems very common to have this as a topper rather than chili pepper flakes). Overall, great little place to eat at on a Sunday when most things are closed. read more

While I was in the bathroom, a waitress spilled significant amount of oil on my jacket beyond what a dry cleaner could fix. Once I came back another waitress told me the best they could do would be to take it to a dry cleaner and mail it to me, but I told them I was leaving the city the next morning and needed to leave with a jacket and the waitress snickered and replied "well I don't have another jacket for you". In the end they gave me the meal for free, but I thought they did not handle the situation correctly and were kind of rude about the whole thing. The entrance is nice with a place to hang coats and the second set of doors opened automatically. We were immediately greeted and seated at the ideal table. The room feels like a large Italian kitchen. Our waitress, Paula, was perfectly helpful. Most importantly, the food was excellent! Arugula salad disappeared. The spaghetti pomodoro was so good, extra bread was ordered just to clean the bowl. My salmon with prosecco sauce was divine and accompanied by a beautiful and tasty salad. We were really pleased with our lunch here. They have a lunch special for under 20 francs where you choose which pasta or pizza you want and it comes with soup and a salad. The pasta tasted very fresh and great value for the price. One of the only places we could find that was not super touristy and overpriced. Great service too. read more

Okay pizza, but the lady serving is rude. She knew that when i ordered pepperoni I was American and meant salami, but she still put the Swiss version- peppers, and then put cold pepperoni on top to teach me a lesson or something. Tap water is $1 and when someone in my group ordered another water, she brought one for everyone, charging us for something we didn't order. Don't go here if you want to save money. read more

Simply. My wife ordered the calf liver with risotto. I helped her eat it. Only because it was maybe in the top five of all things we've ate in the 55 years roaming the planet. Lastly as someone said earlier, the oil does clearly have hot peppers in it, a fool could see that. Don't eat massive amounts of pepper oil. read more

They were able to accommodate us on a Friday night for dinner even without reservations (while others waved their hands saying no tables). The mushroom risotto and the pasta dish with saffron cream sauce was delicious! We cleaned our plates- and they had a large wine selection as well!
