Came here during my trip to Switzerland, and this place is a must try in Luzern. This is a Spanish restaurant that specializes in tapas and paella, and the restaurant did a wonderful job in both categories. My favorite was definitely the carne paella, which was filled with flavor, meats (bacon, rabbit meat, chicken, sausage), and I opted for the black rice with the meal. Service was very accommodating and they even helped switch out the seafood paella to the other paella as I didn't realize how it could affect my girlfriend's shellfish allergy. So it was very nice to get that sorted out! Yes it's a bit pricey, but Switzerland in general is just expensive. Definitely worth a visit when in the area of Luzern.

We landed here when the restaurant was about to close. They seated us but said pallela wouldn't be possible because it would take 40 minutes to cook, they offered us some tapas and we gladly took that offer. This was the only restaurant that seated us at 10p on a Sunday and we appreciated it much. We ordered some tapas and local wine and beer and it was delicious. The decor is pretty and comforting. Lovely place in Lucerne!

While vacationing in Lucerne, we needed a light dinner in the city, something with small but tasty portions. Could this Swiss city have a tapas place, perhaps? Yes! Thankfully, a Spanish transplant moved to Lucerne and opened this spectacular restaurant featuring both tapas and paella. We were guided to Bolero by the tremendous online ratings, and we were not disappointed. The clever dishes and exceptional quality won us over! The Plato Variado (assorted plate) features three thinly shaved meats including chorizo, Serrano ham, and dried pork as well as Manchego cheese. The Chips de Trufa (truffle chips) are house-made chips with truffle oil covered in bits of Serrano ham. Both were incredible! And the Croquetas de Bacalao (cod croquettes) were nearly as delicious, with a piping hot crispy exterior and tender interior. You can use the iPad menus to isolate only gluten-free, lactose-free, or vegetarian dishes. The dessert menu is extensive. And a three-course tapas for the table is also available. And I hear the churros and paella are just as fantastic! So while I always seek out local cuisine and suggest you spend part of your time in Lucerne looking for great Swiss food, I have to recommend Bolero for at least one lunch or dinner! It's that good!

A beautiful venue with a large selection of tapas and entrees. Stopped by during non prime time and grabbed a few entrees. The duck dish was a good portion and the sauce was flavorful but a little overpowering as I had a keep chugging water after each bite. The foie grad sandwich was indeed yummy. The service was typical European passive absentee even though the restaurant was near empty. Only came to our table when we ordered and when we called for the check, not quite fitting for the prices being charged here. At least the venue was beautiful while we waited around.

Best meal of our trip to Lucerne. For our party of 5 we ordered the three course tapas and it was just perfect. Even my picky eaters tried some things they would not normally try and loved it. The service was equally wonderful and everyone made it feel welcome and at home.

We had a delicious meal at Bolero, and were especially happy with the tapas. Lou is the best server, ask for him!

Juice bars are on the rise, and I have found a number of very good ones in Lucerne and Zurich so far. But Joe has very quickly become my top spot. All the drinks and juices I've had here, I don't think I've had better anywhere else. And the prices tend to be noticeably lower, too. Starbucks can keep it's overpriced, watery thing they call an Iced Latte from now on, they've got nothing on Joe. And his coffee shake is probably the pinnacle of cold, milky coffee drinks, with some coffee beans blendered in to top it off. A dream! Apart from juices, smoothies, shots and shakes, Joe also offers great coffee, tasty and freshly prepared sandwiches, and more nourishing drinks with muesli that I imagine would work very well as a breakfast to go. The location is a bit hidden, on the upper floor of the train station, and I hope that word of mouth will be able to compensate the reduced visibility of being tucked away up there, next to the railway ticket office. The decor is very nice and elegant, though. I like their image and design a lot. It's a very nice place to have a little break, and you have access to the balcony looking down on the railway platforms, if you fancy. All the staff I encountered so far were very friendly, glad to elaborate on the menu, and seemed genuinely motivated about working there. Discovering Joe & the Juice was a very pleasant surprise, and I really can't think of anything to criticise. Two out of the four times I've visited so far, other customers made it a point to pass by the counter before they left, to tell staff how good it was. This is not at all a common thing in Switzerland, but that's how good Joe is. I recommend it wholeheartedly, and hope that the franchise will expand further and get to mix up the Swiss juice bar market a bit.

It was fun but also very time consuming, and after that I always needed to go to the local super market or health food shop to get whatever nobody else had. Nowadays this shop is my one stop solution for everything organic, a true farmer's market selling certified produce directly from their own fields. But is has much more going on. You will of couse find seasonal organic fruits and veggies (fresh salads all winter long!), many of them heirloom varieties; herbs, bulk grains, nuts, free range eggs, homemade pasta, meat and poultry, cheese, milk, butter, jams, sirups all of this from their own production or sourced directly from another organic farmers in the vicinity. They sell also health shop staples like teas and tisanes, flours, baked goods, tofu, seitan, oils and even bio soap and detergents. Lately, they have also opened a coffee & tea bar (beautiful, btw!), and in the summer one can sit outside to enjoy the clean air, eat homemade cake. This guys work very hard. Everything they offer is of the highest quality available, and they still manage to keep prices reasonable, sometimes lower than the supermarket. Not that after biting into the juiciest, most flavorful, just-picked tomato of the season you will even care.
