We live very close to this restaurant and used to go once in a while but since the change in ownership we go more often and look forward to it. The new owner welcomes you like you are a guest in her home. The new decor is very calming and welcoming, and the food is amazing. We've tried different things each time we've been there and have enjoyed them all. There is not a large staff so it may take a while to get your order in but the side dishes, at least 9 of them, and a salad keep you well occupied as you wait. The portions are huge so I look forward to a snack the next day as well. We will continue to go there for really good Korean food and a friendly, hospitable restaurant. read more

I cannot overstate how much I love Silla! The atmosphere is phenomenal, the staff are so kind and welcoming, and the food is the best in town. It's a little hard to find the front door, as the entrance is located in the alley way, but honestly that just makes my dining experience at Silla feel that much more unique and charming. I wish more establishments had such character to them. The portions are perfect and the cost, while more a couple dollars more than a run to the local burger chain, is more than worth it for the quality and quantity of food. This Korean restaurant is probably as close to a true "hole in the wall" as you can find in Columbus. It's located in a strip mall off of Henderson Rd next to the Sears Hardware store, and you actually have to go down an alley off on the side of the Sears Hardware store to access the entryway. The interior decor of this restaurant will not blow you away in any way. It feels like a more run down version of Akai Hana down the street. They have no windows, so it may be depressing to eat here on a warm sunny summer day. But with that said, the Korean food here are solid and the service is probably the best out of the Korean restaurants in town in my experience. While I've never done a side by side comparison of the prices, they seem competitive in that regard as well. From what I can tell however, they don't have BBQ grills at the tables for Korean BBQ like Kaya and San-Su does. That's an unfortunate downside. They do have a sushi menu, but I've never tried it so I can't comment. I've also never done karaoke here, so I can't comment on that either. read more

One of the first Korean restaurants I have been to in Columbus. It took my family a while to get seated, it wasn't that busy. There was one long table of 20 people who were about to wrap up and leave, that seemed to occupy the staff. Even when we were seated, it took a good 20 mins for a server to get to us. I am not sure if they were understaffed the night I went, but it seems so. My family got a variety of dishes, from apps to entrees that range from meats, seafood, soup, stews, and grilled items. Meat dishes were overcooked, fish (mackerel) was dry, soups were bland. I don't know if it was the night we went, but most of the dishes just seemed to be half-hearted cooking. I would give this place another try, but I am not in a hurry to do so. I rather explore other options for authentic Korean food in Columbus. I ordered via Uber Eats, and got the Korean BBQ (short ribs), and Budae Ji Gae (army stew) with ramen noodles. The soup was piping hot, with melted cheese on top, ramen noodles, and spicy broth with veggies, tofu, sausage, spam, and rice cakes. It was delicious. I also ate the spicy tuna sushi roll, which was also very good; pretty much what you would expect from any spicy tuna roll. Both were reasonably priced and tasted great with the complementary corn tea that is offered. There is a pretty good variety of side dishes. But, if you expect a large amount of sides like at other Korean restaurants, you will be disappointed. Although you can only enter the restaurant from a sketchy alley, the indoor atmosphere is casual and clean. The staff are very polite and fast to serve customers. Silla rounds out the top of the list of great Korean restaurants in Columbus. It's established, they're open late, and serve some of the most authentic food around. It is a great place to come for happy hour - 4:30 to 9:30 (!) and they are open until 2am. Late night for the win (although we're more the happy hour crowd at this stage of life). Silla is also right-sized for larger groups, if you want to bring all your besties to try it out. The décor is nice, plenty of light wood and a bar/sushi bar if you're feeling cozy. The best thing to understand about Korean restaurants: they are pretty straight-forward about their cuisine, and they rarely hesitate to tell you how they feel about you ordering a dish, how you are serving/eating your dish, etc. We've had our meals "fluffed" here and when the spouse's soup was bubbling fiercely, we no sooner noticed than the owner swooped over to turn down the heat. So, be of good humor, stand your ground if you know what you want to eat, and enjoy being shown the proper way to eat your bibimbap/whole fish/noodles/sushi. ANYWAY. We ordered the seafood pancake #1 for an appetizer and picked around the menu for the other good stuff. They do have udon, teriyaki and other Japanese dishes as well as soups, jigae and rice stir-fries. I got the classic budae jigae, a stew with sausage, spiced ham, and a piece of cheese melted on top. It's really, REALLY good - the first time I ordered it, the cheese freaked me out - there's no cheese in Asian cooking! Turns out with spam, there is. It's darn good stuff. The spouse ordered the for-two chicken dori-tang, which was OUTSTANDING. Their broths are probably my favorite of anywhere. The soup was even better the next day. If you've tried Korean and you're ready for a new experience, or want to experiment with Korean food (but have other options), Silla is the place to go. read more

The restaurant atmosphere is comfortable and is decorated with random posters of Korean dishes, drinks and a random odd collection of items. The staff are all unique, offering a different experience for each table. They are adequately able to serve, seem to be a bit hit and miss at times. Nothing remarkable, but not horrible. The food is good, the soups in particular the Black Goat (had it in the past) is really tasty. Everything else is good too. The value on some dishes don't really meet my expectations, but that's a personal opinion. Overall, it's a good spot that's open late and anyone should give it a try. read more
