We were visiting Copenhagen from Los Angeles, and we decided to celebrate our daughter's birthday at Restaurant Pluto. What a great idea it was since the food and wait staff were fantastic. We also really enjoyed the music they played, which gave the place a hipster vide to compliment the amazing food. I highly recommend having dinner there if you are ever in the beautiful city of Copenhagen. read more

We were recommended to come here by a friend and boy are we glad we did on our last night in Copenhagen. The place is packed tightly and the table next to you is practically in your lap but aside from that complaint this place is the bomb. We started with a cucumber comet which was very refreshing. We shared several plates. Croquettes with pork belly and bone marrow, waffle with ham and manchego cheese, korean bao bun with chicken, duroc ribs, and the cod. All were great. I loved the waffle and the ribs but the cod stole the show for me. Thank you to our server for recommending it. We were too full for dessert. I wish we stayed longer in CPH to try out the rest of the menu. read more

Restaurant Pluto proves that Copenhagen is a foodie city. Across the street from a top-rated burger spot inside a gas station is this quaint restaurant with a large dining room and sidewalk seating with heaters during the winter. My friend and I went on a Saturday October evening and snagged a table outside without a reservation. Here's our experience: 1) Food: The entire menu looks well done, but we opted for two very different smaller dishes. I ordered the gyoza with mushrooms and chili and it had an appropriate kick that made the dish stand out. My friend ordered the stracciatella, tomatoes, pistachio pesto and raddichio dish and was impressed. 2) Service: It's attentive, friendly and efficient. If you love good fo0d, make this spot a stop. You're going to want to be my best friend! Because I'm going to tell right now you now, YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE. Was here on holiday and had very limited time - but let me tell you, this place is worth the visit. worth the trip to Copenhagen! It was actually one of the best meals i've ever had, anywhere in the world. That was how much we enjoyed the food, service, atmosphere. We came for dinner. We debated to go a la cart or the tasting menu because we weren't that hungry (we actually ate a lot before because we were hungry getting off the plane), so why not save a few krones. But my better half said he thought the tasting menu would be the better experience --- and I'm SO GLAD WE DID THE TASTING MENU!!! The progression of the food and the exact sequence of plates was perfect. We really liked how thoughtfully they started with trio of bites, then went into the fancy meats and fish, but also playful veggie plates like the beats, to the pot pie at the end right before dessert (as if just to make sure you don't leave hungry -- but actually we were very very full and didn't finish the pot pie to make tiny bit of room for dessert). The dishes themselves were all beautiful. And after admiring the colors and plating, it all tasted magical!! The flavors were bold, comforting, but also very refined. I love that the food was brilliant but at the same time approachable and not arrogant - and that was the whole vibe of the restaurant. Like fancy but so down to earth at the same time! And after the whole meal, having tasted everything and experienced the service, the price really is a bargain. And last bit about this restaurant, it was VERY BUSY on the thursday night when we went. So I would recommend making a reservation, or show up at the restaurant when opening like we did (and still I think we got very lucky to be seated). read more

Pluto hits it in every category. Bistro style restaurant, open late, lively atmosphere. Diverse crowd, mixed age groups. Service was genuine, sincere, accommodating. Bartender took the time to explain how Akvavit is produced, and the difference in varietals. Best part is the food, with interesting menu items , creativity prepared. Sardines, anchovies, quail, pate, wild boar... all available...freshly prepared. Oh, and they serve bread too, wonderful Danish bread. Well considered wine selection, full bar, beers. Pluto is an out-of-this-world experience with prices still with our solar system. read more

What a great experience! I went here with some "customers" after a meeting in the ministry of education.. We had preordered their 12 course menu including welcome drink and coffee (600DKK) and some had the paired wine menu (+500DKK). The 12 courses (which was actually 13) came in a "family style" which means you share the plates.. They were served 4, 4, 3 and 2.. Everything was super delicious, interesting and very tasty! We had 3 vegetarians and 1 with nut allergy in the group, and they all had special food accomplished food - which all looked super delicious, as well! The staff and service were overall really great, and I'll highly recommend Pluto! Both for smaller intimate groups and for larger groups. read more

I'm pretty sure I've been hearing about Pluto since it opened. I have this coworker foodie confidant who, every time I have seen him since he first mentioned it, has asked if I've been yet. He's been at least 10 times. Seriously. So I finally went with two girlfriends in tow. And holy 12-course-family-but-also-tapas-style-awesome, batman. I wish I could remember everything we ate, because it was so so so good, but the menu is made daily and I didn't write anything down, so you'll have to rely on the pictures in order to whet your palate (without getting into the finer details of how things were prepared, we were offered 4 courses with fish, 2 vegetarian, 4 with meat or poultry, and 2 desserts). Pro-tip: come hungry. And unless you haven't eaten in a week, I think the 12 course tasting menu will suffice for most people. read more

Disclaimer: After Restaurant Pluto, I honestly don't know if I'll ever be able to eat steak again. They have hands down the best steak I have ever had in my life. While walking around our neighborhood, we came across Restaurant Pluto and remembered that it had been recommended to us. The place was packed; however, after a short wait, they were able to squeeze us in at a high bar table. Pluto has a 12-course prix fixe menu for 475 dkk (~$76), but they also have an a la carte, so we opted for a la carte. We originally were planning to have a lighter dinner, but the menu just looked too good and we ended up ordering a pretty big dinner. We started with a selection of oysters, which were good, but a bit on the briny side. We also ordered the duck spring rolls, which were served with an beautiful, verdant green sauce with a flavor we'd never come across before. We also loved the lemon sole with king trumpet mushrooms, a light yet absolutely decadent dish. The casserole of morel mushrooms, lobster, and veal sweetbreads was outstanding as well. Because everything was so delicious, we decided to add one more dish and went for the steak. Damn. The steak. The meat itself is just an outstanding, buttery cut, and it's served in a silky red wine sauce. We had no idea it would be so huge and had a good amount of (awesome) leftovers for breakfast the next day. The drink menu is also very good - I loved the Solero Rodeo, which tasted like a fruity, refreshing negroni. Other members of my party enjoyed the wine selection, which featured well-priced, highly drinkable wines. Service was wonderful - everyone was super friendly and enthusiastic about the menu, making fantastic wine and food suggestions. Restaurant Pluto is more on the trendy side, attracting a younger, louder crowd. The night we were there, we noticed a lot of medium-to-large dinner parties, which contributed to the high noise level. That being said, the food is excellent and it was definitely the best surprise of our trip. We only wish we had more room in our stomachs to try more items! read more

I went to Pluto for a holiday dinner with some coworkers. None of us had been there before and we were all pleasantly surprised. The restaurant space is quite large with ample seating and a trendy, young vibe. We ordered the 12 course tasting menu and a couple bottles of wine. The courses were separated into 4 appetizers, 3 seafood dishes, 3 meat dishes and 2 desserts. Without mentioning every course (honestly, so much food passed my lips, I can't remember them all), but some of the standouts were the scallops, the Duroc pork sliders, the roasted goose, cod and both desserts, a shaved pear with sorbet and a deconstructed cheese cake. The food came at a very good pace. Just as we were finishing a course, the next came out. All in all, a wonderful evening, great food, great atmosphere and great service. I've been here twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner. I must admit, I enjoyed the dinner more, but maybe because I tried more. It's a hidden location in a way since it's off on a side street, but the right people know it exists. When we went for dinner we ordered a bunch of different plates and just shared everything. The standouts would be sliders, macaroni, croquettes, veal, and tartare. They have an awesome meat selection, but don't have as many options with the vegetables. The decor is very simple, yet classy. The atmosphere is cozy and I like having all the wine displayed everywhere. This is a foodie must if you are in Copenhagen for sure. read more

Wonderful food, great service, and cozy atmosphere! We came in jetlagged on our first night in Copenhagen. The tables are pretty squeezed in, but somehow we didn't notice. Despite the crowd, the restaurant wasn't too loud. Our waiter was so wonderful and made us feel so welcome! He was very accomodating of our dietary restrictions. My family and I shared the ceviche, falafel, the risotto, and the rhubarb dessert (my sister is vegan and both my sister and mom are gluten free). Everything was so good! The flavors in all the dishes balance so well. The risotto was the family favorite that night. Portions are small; we probably could have used one more dish. I'm hoping we'll make it back before we have to leave Copenhagen! read more

Pluto was a very nice surprise I didn't know what to expect from it and it was a really cool experience. For starters I can't eat red meat at the moment so they managed to bring me alternatives with duck and seafood. The duck spring rolls were amazing with really cool and spicy mermelade, it followed anchovies which I normally cant stand they were the best dish really well made no bones with heart lettuce roared almonds and a sour dressing, then followed crab salad with an avocado mousse and a homemade chip again really nice, at the same time my client was getting near so he was happy as well starting with cold cuts with special mustard the only thing I didn't like from the starters were the sardines which were served with their skin, but so followed the main dishes an amazing cod slightly breaded with a brown butter sauce amazing dish you could really taste the brown butter, it followed scallops one the softest I have ever tried and the sauce was made of lobster so it cannot get much better and to pair some really tasty grilled spring onions with sesame seeds and pickled onions, on the meat side there was a nakkefilet sandwich which was praised and a sausage with dark lentils also was said to be very good, on the veggie side it continued with tempura vegetables and duck again I have to say I was not hungry anymore at this point so I just tried the vegetables with the homemade mayo they were very good and the meat side got a duck pie with a fried foie gras on top he really liked it the dessert was amazing a creative cheesecake on the good side of balance not to sweet and a creme fraiche ice cream with caramel and blueberries which was awesome. The ambiance was loud I have to say a little difficult to hold a meeting but it ends up being a long dinner so it helps to talk about all the points necessary, the service was good not great they took a little too long to take the plates, we stayed on water so I cannot comment on the wines, the bathrooms for me were a little too informal for the nice place Pluto is. Vi kom en lørdag aften og fik et bord for to midt i restauranten, lige hvor folk masede igennem den smalle passage mellem bordene. Der blev skubbet til vores tallerkner og på et tidspunkt faldt et af megafyldte tøjstativer over på et bord hvor folk sad og spiste. Musikken var alt alt for høj og efter at have råbt ad hinanden under samtalen, bad jeg en af tjenrerne om at skrue lidt ned for den pumpende musik. Menukortet var uoverskueligt. Fik at vide af tjeneren, at der udover 12 retters menu, som stod skrevet på menuet, var der også en 8 retters en!! Nogen af retterne smagte godt, men ikke hele menuen. Vil give 3 stjerner ud af 5 for maden. Regningen blev 1250 kr for 8 små tallerkner og en flaske mellemklasse hvid vin. Forlod stedet med et lidt af en ripped off eftersmag af stedet! Det eneste gode ved stedet var tjenerne. De var ret søde og hjælpsomme. Alt i alt så holder konceptet ikke. Priserne er for høje og stemningen er ikke specielt hyggelig. Det så bare billigt og utjekket ud. Bare fordi man har smidt nogle gamle kaffe borde og stole i en lokale, har man ikke nødvendigvis skabt den efterhånden overbrugte rustikke bistro stemning. read more

This place was DE-licious. Very cute ambience, service was friendly but maybe a little more slow/relaxed than we are used to in the States. To start we had a chantrelle hazelnut salami that was to die for. WOW/amazing, and there was plenty other charcuterie that also sounded delish. We then shared 2 fish dishes (codfish and monkfish) that were some of the best fish I've had. The fish itself was flavored/seasoned so well, and then matched with the rest of the ingredients on the dish and being perfectly cooked - it was delicious! Would definitely recommend it to others - wish we could've tried more! read more

12 courses Menu was a good deal quality+quantity for value. Don't eat too much at the begining and easy on the bred since the meal is long! Found the fish, beef and dessert the best. Starters were quite simple. Overall the food could benefit from more originality but since classics are well done, that is fair. I found that overall the experience was pleasant. I would recommend decreasing a little the music (place is really loud) and a higher focus on service (waiters were very nice but not very careful to details). read more

I've been to Pluto a couple times when in Denmark on business, and each time it is an amazing meal. A menu full of tasty small plates, an excellent bar, and a comfortable dining room that makes you want to hang out all night long. Food: On our first visit, we were with a large group and chose the twelve course tasting menu. The kitchen chooses the courses and just bombards you with flavors in rapid succession. Add to that a few bottles of wine every couple courses, and to be honest, it's a little too much for the senses. During my most recent dinner, there were three of us, and we decided to order a la carte, and we were extremely pleased by our meal. A couple of Sipsmith gin martinis got us off on the right foot drinks-wise. Started off with the foie gras and pork shank croquettes (super-rich fried goodness), then had the confit octopus (oily but not greasy seafood goodness), and also had the dried salted beef over greens with manchego and almonds (so much more than just a salad). Then ordered a bottle of Barbera d'Alba to go with our mains - cod and duroc pork ribs. Star of the show was the duroc pork ribs - no fancy glazes or marinades, just amazingly-well-prepared meat that smacks of uber-porky goodness. So good that after eating two orders each of both the cod and the ribs, we ordered another portion of ribs. And fought over them. Finished out the night with a few pilsners (Mikkeller, I think) and shared a cookie with homemade ice cream. All in all a fantastic meal. Service: Great. Servers take care of tables tag-team style, so you don't have just one server helping you out. Probably helps when you have a pretty big dining room and lots of small plates to serve. Once in a while it took a bit longer than expected to flag someone down, but in the end it didn't matter one bit. Vibe: Chillin'-somewhere-near-Nyhavn-cool. Dimly-lit at night, indoor-outdoor seating fro daytime. Just a very pleasant atmosphere. We sat at one of the "tall tables" with bar stools and had a sweet vantage point of the whole dining room. The scenery was not at all unpleasant, either. And when nature calls, you will be happy you answered. The restrooms are, let's just say, well-appointed. Family-friendly: Probably for lunchtime, but I'd much rather hang out at Pluto with friends and have a great night out. Summary: Copenhagen has so many amazing places to eat that I am happy to have been introduced to Pluto. Will always come back as many times as I can whenever I am visiting. read more

Really Great food but somehow the service which I think was supposed to be high-casual, just turned out to feel like they didn't really care or was not particularly observant. Would have given 1 star more for that and we did wait quite long in between several of the 12 dishes - had that been timed better which could have been one unlucky day, I would rate it with 5 stars. read more

A really nice, informal, and interesting restaurant with good food that mixes the simple and the unexpected. I think we had around 6-8 dishes, but the informal - and almost unorganized fashion by which the food was served makes it almost impossible to keep track, and it could have been more or fewer. But by the end I was full and with some interesting new tastes to think about. The style seems inspired by French cuisine and when we were there; covered everything from a huge plate of cold cut Chorizo (for me alone :-), over hake, to a very well prepared beef. The service was very relaxed - almost a bit too much, and I think we had 3+ waiters attending to us leading to all of them losing track of where in the menu we were - just bringing the food whenever it was ready. I don't think it helped that we were one vegetarian and one meat-lover, so several times one had food while the other was waiting. However altogether it was still a good experience (and they did suggest everyone at the table ordering the same if you go for the menu). I was a bit surprised that they didn't know what a vegetarian is - and not only one time, but several times brought us fish, even trying to lecture us on the difference between vegan and vegetarian (getting it wrong too...). The atmosphere of the one big room is really cozy - though a bit noisy (not annoyingly so though). There is a dark candlelight feel to the room, and the voices of the neighboring tables makes for a pleasant ambiance to the meal. None of us knows much about wine, so at first I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have a wine menu to go with the food, but the suggestions by the waiters were spot on and really good, so no complaints here. The food isn't cheap, but for the amount and quality this is not overpriced at all. I would come back - and next time I will skip lunch, because this is a full meal for sure! read more

There is only one bad thing I can say about Pluto. Do not bring vegetarians here. This place is nirvana for those of you who like your meat rich, heavy and preferably butter coated. Pluto stays open pretty late, and was bustling still when we arrived in the large industrial style dining room at 10pm on a Friday. Like most trendy Danish restaurants these days, it offers small plates with a French leaning, including a lot of charcuterie and cheeses, ranging in price between 40kr to 130kr (for foie gras). Between us, we opted for the rillettes, sweetbreads, shortribs, leeks and foie gras croquettes (there are three vegetable dishes on the menu, and one of them is pasta). It was possibly the richest and most decadent meal I have ever had, but in the best way. The confit sweetbreads came dripping in a rich meat jus surrounded by little pearl onions. The rilletes came piled on a plate with good bread and a hit of wasabi on the side to cut through the fat. The leeks were tasty but an amazingly small portion (approximately 1 leek) for the price, considering that the meat dishes were pretty generous. Just to complete the calorie overload, we finished off with two cheeses, with our waiter obligingly providing us an amazing 36 month aged Comte instead of the standard selection. The wine list was ample and reasonably priced (by Copenhagen standards, not normal standards) and the service was friendly and efficient throughout. read more

I dont eat pork and they were able to cater the menu accordingly which was amazing given it is a pork laden menu! Fantastic atmosphere too - very fun and informal.
