    1st course!

What a great ambiance, we tried to come on a weekend but they required reservations and were booked. So if you're being spontaneous, a rainy Monday night will provide better luck. The service is excellent, it was quiet enough to talk but noisy enough were weren't worried eavesdropping. The flavors were all local and amazing. This is a must try place!!!

Wow. This unique restaurant takes Danish food to a whole new level. I normally don't care for small plates restaurants, but the varied fixed price menu choices in 4, 5 or 6 menu choices makes this a unique experience at an affordable price. While I started out with the idea of taking pictures of each dish, I ended up grabbing my fork first. The service was great and each dish was a work of art that tasted as good as it looked.

Our first night in Copenhagen in early September and we decided to start vacation the right way :). Cofoco turned out to be one of our favorite restaurants from our trip. Decided to go for the 4 course menu with wine. Each course had distinctive flavor, was beautifully plated and the four courses was more than enough food as we were full heading into dessert. We had a lovely salad with shrimp and other fresh ingredients, mussel soup, hand pealed shrimps, chives, croutons and edamame beans. Perfectly prepared Monkfish and a tasty dessert with yogurt ice cream, berry coulis and creamy custard. The wines served with the courses were well matched and the pours were substantial. Service throughout the meal was friendly, helpful and efficient. A very relaxing and delicious dinner. Copenhagen is a city full of dining destinations, Cofoco is a very good option. Here are some photos of dinner.

This should come as no surprise to anyone who's ever been to a Cofoco Restaurant: the namesake of the reputable chain is, quite expectedly, fantastic. I came for dinner amongst a large group celebrating a town hall wedding that took place earlier in the day. We were given an intimate room to ourselves, and despite being relatively secluded and away from the action, our fears of being forgotten never materialized. The staff at Cofoco was patient and helpful, despite the indecisive crowd ("do we want more bubbles, or should we shift to wine?" "how many courses are you getting, I think I'll have three." yadda yadda yadda...), and while we were bad guests and didn't warn the kitchen about my wheat allergy, they gladly baked up some gluten free bread for *Yours Truly* so that I could also indulge in their deliciously whipped herbed cream cheese that came with it (real talk, I ate the bread to get to the butter/cream cheese because I'm old enough to know it's socially unacceptable to dip a spoon right into it). Conveniently, I was on perhaps the worst day of a gnarly cold, and couldn't taste as well as I normally can, and yet - AND YET - everything was a delight for even my snot-clogged palate. All that for less than 500kr per person including alcohol? Ja tak. Over and over again.

We had the 4 courses set, food was served in starter size (all 4), taste was great but a little too salty --- I found all Nordic restaurants made food this way so I guess that's common in north Europe. Nice interior design, but the waitresses were cold

Elegantly prepared and served four course meal. Delicious and authentic Denmark eatery. Quality is the name of the game here, the plating is what you would expect for a high end restaurant, the flavors were rich and not overbearing, and the service was fantastic. Next time I hope to meet the chef, it was that good!

    Beef tartare
    Jenn R.

We really enjoyed dinner at this fun local spot. The offered a tasting menu or you can do a la carte which we chose. Our family shared the beef tartare as an appetizer, and we had the ribeye steak and turkey dish. The flavors were fresh, well paired with side items and sauces that are prepared fresh in house. We saved room for their two dessert choices as well as enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine. They change their menu frequently but the wonderful server we had told us the mussel soup is a favorite and always on the menu. Wish we would have tried that but learned this after we were too full. Definitely recommend!

The trout tart looked beautiful, didn't have much of wow factor in taste though. The pasta dish was good with ton of truffle shavings. The main meat dish was not at all there. I mean it was cooked nice but there was a side of tempura made from pig-brain if i remember correctly, and it was pretty bad!! Not fried well, was chewy and the fried batter coating got badly stuck on my teeth! Dessert was good.

I went for the venison, with whipped potatoes and berry compote. The venison was past tender into soft --- good, but not what I was hoping for. It's grime-y in a charming way but stay away if any grime bothers you. It's dingy on the inside with some nice sidewalk seats, but reeks of old cigarettes either way. Lots of folksjust hanging out for some drinks and people watching. For this they had high chairs and baby friendly. The service is great. They give of the air of not GAF but are actually attentive and charming. Food came or relatively quickly on a Friday night which was good with a hungry child. They were happy to explain things on the menu and even suggested a few things for substitution. Funnily everyone comes into the restaurant, loclas and tourirsts alike, acting confused where to sit or if there's a queue and after a dramatic pause the barkeep tells them to sit wherever and right on. The food was good. The menu looks very basic and doesn't do the food justice. The 3 salads accompanying each meal are listed without description or fanfare. You don't know which ones you'll get. We got four different ones in combination for two entrees. Even the chicken satay we ordered for our little one came with two salad sides. Two out of four were great, the others bland. Each salad is about 1/4 of a cup, fairly small. The sesame seaweed with ginger and heirloom tomato salads rocked. The guacamole (really just smash avocados without seasoning) and cabbage salad (no dressing, plain with two honeyed almonds on top) were uninspiring. We got the Manilla tofu and beef lasagna as the main dishes. The Manilla tofu was cooked just right with great sauce and an ample portion of protein compared to your average Nordic experience. The beef lasagna was decadent. It was more reminiscent of mousaka than lasagna, cheesy, pillowy, creamy, and very thin Al dented pasta. Not a whole lot of meat but very flavorful and filling. The drink list was pretty good. I had a nice primotivo for only 55 Kr. Whole bottles are reasonable finds at good prices. They also serve half bottles I'm carafes. Good brew selection too. Prices were fair for the fare. Much less expensive than many surrounding restaurants. Overall, great spot. Good to hang or eat. Not pretentious but just good enoufh food.
