Course 2 of 4: Mushroom Soup
Christina H.

When I say, "I want to eat an amazing meal in Copenhagen, but don't want to spend the hundreds of dollars at one of their Michelin-starred restaurants", this is exactly what I wanted. The ambiance is dimly lit, creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere. I recommend making a reservation, although they do accept walk-ins if space allows. I ordered the Olive's 4 Course Menu, which included the Norwegian Salmon Tartar, Mushroom Soup, Peppercorn Steak and a Crème Brûlée. Everything was perfect: the crème brûlée was delicate and subtly sweet, the steak was cooked to perfection at a requested medium rare temperature, the soup had just the right amount of truffle to make it rich, yet homey, and the salmon tartar was exquisite. I was also able to try the Blue Mussels, and wow *chef's kiss* My last meal in Copenhagen did not disappoint!!!

Food service ambiance all lovely. You need a reservation first and more than last minute. I should add I've been here 3 times and the food was excellent

Ambiance is cozy

Excellent meal, good service in a charming atmosphere. During my visit, I ordered the four course meal (must do so as a table only) and it was outstanding: Norwegian Salmon Tartar, avocado cream, capers, freshly cut herbs Creamy Mushroom soup, mixed mushroom soup topped with truffle oil Peppercorn Steak, served with garlic mashed potatoes, braised vegetables and peppercorn sauce French Vanilla Creme Brulee I highly recommend RESERVATIONS and a visit while in Copenhagen, can't miss! 5 stars

Five stars all around! Came here because all the reviews were good and it did not disappoint. I can confirm that the mushroom soup is a must try! My mom and I both had the panko Parmesan chicken and upgraded to the goat cheese salad and were blown away. The flavors were absolutely amazing and we both cleaned out plates. We walked 1 mile out of our way to check this place out and it was worth every step. Prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurants with lesser quality food. Ambiance and service was very nice. We went late enough that we didn't need a reservation but I would highly suggest you make one.

"The Huff". Best drink in the place.

Exceptional food and service. I highly recommend the peppercorn steak or the duck. And you must try "The Huff" - best drink in the place. :) Hannah was a great server.

The "self-saucing" chocolate biscuit (we'd call it artisan molten chocolate cake)

We enjoyed an amazing, world-class food and dining experience at this little gem of a restaurant. We started with a couple of their specialty Drinks: passionate lychee (like a glass of Hawaiian sunshine)and mango lemonade (like sitting on the beach). The menu features a wide variety of artfully crafted choices and we decided to start by sharing the lovely Goat cheese salad which had slices of warmed cheese topping a mixed green salad with dried tomatoes and sunflower seeds-fantastic. For mains I tried the tender and juicy Mustard pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes, slaw and a sweet ratatouille while my wife enjoyed the savory Pepper steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. One of the fun things about travel is the quirky English translations at chef-driven inventive spots like this. The "Self-saucing chocolate biscuit" (aka molten chocolate cake) served with a creamy scoop of ice cream was the perfect finish to our wonderful meal. Note-this place is very popular so advanced reservations are essential-you can't just show up so plan ahead and make sure this place is on your itinerary. Highly recommended Great wines by the glass

Copenhagen ribs

Wonderful food and service! Portion sizes were good and between the two of us we shared the ribs, creamy mushroom soup, seared salmon entree and chocolate cake. No leftovers, not stuffed, it was just the right amount of food for us. The creamy mushroom soup was absolutely amazing - rich and delicious - my favorite part of the meal. The ribs were also excellent. They were very tender with a nice slightly crispy rub. The salmon was cooked perfectly, not too overdone and the pea purée and sauce were really nice. The accompanying mix of green beans/ broccolini were also nicely cooked. All the food was timed out well and served appropriately hot. The chocolate biscuit and ice cream had nice flavors and weren't too sweet. I didn't care for the consistency of the biscuit or ice cream and would've preferred both to be less runny. I'd definitely recommend Olive Kitchen & Bar and would come back in the future. We made a reservation a few weeks prior to our visit.

Creamy Mushroom soup with Mixed Cheese Plate, glass of Malbec

Our first night in Copenhagen and we really wanted soup. The mushroom soup here was outstanding! We kept it simple (ate a lot in our last destination) so with the soup we added the cheese plate. Service was perfect, wine was great. Cute spot, wished I was more hungry to enjoy more of the menu!

the mushroom soup was to die for. it was so good. the reviews were very accurate. I also ordered the pepper steak which was nice. the service was excellent and the waitress was very helpful. the explained each dish very nicely. I'm very glad I went there.

Crème Brûlée

I saw this place had a lot of really great reviews, specifically on trip advisor and it did not disappoint. This restaurant was INSANELY good!! We had the tasting menu, a great choice. Each of the dishes had great flavor (we also did the wine pairing) our favorite part of the tasting menu was the mushroom soup. It was very creamy and had amazing flavor. The service was great and we loved the candlelight dinner. Highly recommended and we will be back

It's grime-y in a charming way but stay away if any grime bothers you. It's dingy on the inside with some nice sidewalk seats, but reeks of old cigarettes either way. Lots of folksjust hanging out for some drinks and people watching. For this they had high chairs and baby friendly. The service is great. They give of the air of not GAF but are actually attentive and charming. Food came or relatively quickly on a Friday night which was good with a hungry child. They were happy to explain things on the menu and even suggested a few things for substitution. Funnily everyone comes into the restaurant, loclas and tourirsts alike, acting confused where to sit or if there's a queue and after a dramatic pause the barkeep tells them to sit wherever and right on. The food was good. The menu looks very basic and doesn't do the food justice. The 3 salads accompanying each meal are listed without description or fanfare. You don't know which ones you'll get. We got four different ones in combination for two entrees. Even the chicken satay we ordered for our little one came with two salad sides. Two out of four were great, the others bland. Each salad is about 1/4 of a cup, fairly small. The sesame seaweed with ginger and heirloom tomato salads rocked. The guacamole (really just smash avocados without seasoning) and cabbage salad (no dressing, plain with two honeyed almonds on top) were uninspiring. We got the Manilla tofu and beef lasagna as the main dishes. The Manilla tofu was cooked just right with great sauce and an ample portion of protein compared to your average Nordic experience. The beef lasagna was decadent. It was more reminiscent of mousaka than lasagna, cheesy, pillowy, creamy, and very thin Al dented pasta. Not a whole lot of meat but very flavorful and filling. The drink list was pretty good. I had a nice primotivo for only 55 Kr. Whole bottles are reasonable finds at good prices. They also serve half bottles I'm carafes. Good brew selection too. Prices were fair for the fare. Much less expensive than many surrounding restaurants. Overall, great spot. Good to hang or eat. Not pretentious but just good enoufh food.

At Den Lille Fede, they offer a 5-course and a 7-course meal, both with the option of wine pairings for each course. Since it was a special occasion, we went for the seven course dinner with wine pairings. Though I'm not usually a white wine drinker, favoring bold reds instead, I tasted three white wines that became instant hits because of their complexity, balance of acidity and refreshing minerality, accenting the dish paired with it. A few of the most memorable courses were: umami beans, egg, and truffle; fried hake fish with paper-thin potato slices and roasted malt (even my seafood-avoidant partner said she loved this fish); ribeye and beets with a tangy and savory refined BBQ sauce; and raspberry sorbet with peach and cream. Though it can easily become an expensive evening, especially for traveling Americans and others who aren't used to above-average Scandinavian pricing, I highly recommend Den Lille Fede for a special occasion and the experience of a long meal, vibrant flavors throughout a variety of interesting and beautiful dishes, and the professional and accommodating staff who led us through the meal. Expect to spend between $44 (for 5-course meal with no beverage pairings) to $113 per person (if you get the 7 courses, the wine pairings, and cava and coffee.

Giant wooden beams support the ceiling, oil lamps provide gently glowing illumination, and Berkeley / San Francisco-grade hipsters weave between the tables, dropping off plates laden with braised mushrooms, mashed potatoes with leeks, and lamb cutlets. I went for the venison, with whipped potatoes and berry compote. The venison was past tender into soft --- good, but not what I was hoping for. My wife got fish, with a salmon-spinach souffle, some fennel, shrimp, fried potatoes, and a good helping of creamy sauce. We started with a soup --- translated for us as "like carrots, but white," which we think was parsnip --- that was creamy and rich, but still nicely light. The house red wine was good --- but the house white was absolutely amazing. You have to try it. The meals were quite good, but didn't manage to be as memorable as the experience;
