I had a chance to visit Mash on Bredgade. MASH is definitely a first class Steak house featuring cuts from around the world. This upscale restaurant is next level in decor featuring ceiling high full bar with rich tapestry. The host, bartenders, and staff were great. The evening started off with drinks at the bar. Old fashions and martini were really good. Moving to dinner, beef tartar and pork belly, were superb. For the main entree, could not pass the opportunity to have the world tour- steak from Canada, Denmark, and Japan. The server brings the steaks table side for selection before they cook them to desired temp. On e they are ready, they bring the steaks cooked back to the table to share amongst guest. What an experience of flavors. I have to the Danish beef was my favorite of the 3. Sides are shareable so the larger your party, the more options to try. I look forward to future visits. read more

When we booked our summer holiday, top of the list of to dos for the 3 days in Copenhagen was to book dinner at MASH. We had been here last year and found it excellent in every way A couple of glasses of bubbles, a decent bottle of wine, a Uruguayan rib eye and striploin, a little salad, pepper sauce, and a couple of espressos = 1,680dk pretip Where to start...we had 2 waiters look after us and the sommelier came to visit a couple of times - the wine and the grappa. The service is friendly, laid back, but very professional. All these waiters know their stuff - I don't think they would be let out on the customers if not. There are echoes of River Cafe, where the wonderful Charles Pullan runs a tight but relaxed ship; (ever our favourite!) The service throughout was tops - the atmosphere is great, but but not noisy, this is a smart place, although as ever here, you don't have to dress up though its nice to...the food is superb... The sommelier chose the red and I asked about the grappa; I like it very cold - could he do that for me for the end of the meal. No issues - we chose 1 (that Valpolicella became the favourite and one other...plus he gave me a taste of something else...read on) and put it all on an ice bath in the freezer...fabulous. And it was...ah, the something else...an American Grappa...lighter fuel...blow out the candles please... Walked in without a reservation but it was a weekday so did not have any trouble getting a table. Just so you know they have a great option to try a variety of steaks, but there needs to be 2 people at the table. Even in a city like Copenhagen, it's hard to get really good food after say 9.30. Most of the finer dining closes up and with my plane being delayed, I missed out on my resys over at Mielcke & Hurtigkarl. So I looked around not wanting to eat in the hotel. Everyone in the resto industry here seems to love Le Sommelier. Unfortunately I missed that train too. Luckily, I remembered that they also own MASH and it was close to the Metro station. Score. Walking in at 10pm it was still hopping. Seems that this is a see and be seen place here. All the female servers are fairly attractive. It's very dimly lit and it has a lounge vibe. The bar room and the dining room have different feels but over all it's a night life kind of place. I sat in the bar by the kitchen getting a glimpse at both worlds and also getting to peek into the kitchen itself. Doing the opposite of what most locals would do I got specifically the Danish aged beef, and the sweatbreads. Also got the rhubard cocktail for good measure as it would be my last night in CPH for a while. Beef is very lean, though the aging isnt as funky as I would have expected. Still good taste with the sauce. Could have used slightly more salt. The sweatbread appetizer was awesome. Maybe one of the better versions Ive had in a while. Cocktails were good, not mind blowing and at the end I got a good scope of rhubarb ice cream to finish it off. My server was super nice and we talked about how she grew up in Jutland near Germany and how she ended up in hospitality. The back of the house were cranking out plates and all my food came in a good timely manner. Definitely now on the list of good late night eats. Very elegant and classic Copenhagen restaurant. Good variety of steaks and wines. The menu and the staff are on up to the level of a high-class restaurant. I got their special which was a Danish bone-in ribeye and a Caesar salad. The salad was very good, they added some crisp parmesan which made it a bit different and the dressing was adequate. The steak was good in taste, but a bit low in salt. The steak was also a bit overcooked from what I'd asked (medium-rare), which made it less juicy. read more

I love Mash. Its my favorite place to go for dinner. I have been to different Mash locations around Copenhagen, and I am never disappointed, nor was I disappointed while going to the one on Bredgade. If it was up to me, I would eat all my meals at Mash. The one in Bredgade is bigger than the Mash Penthouse, but the service is just as amazing. I would recommend anyone going, specially bigger groups, to book a table before hand. The food is always amazing, the drinks are perfectly made and there is always someone there to make sure that everything is just perfect. If you love steak GO TO MASH, either one of them ! The only difference between the locations is the different vibes. All good, but Bredgade is maybe not as much a place to take your kids as much as the one in Ringsted is (Ringsted has outdoor seating by the water, and a lot of people take their kids) read more

Comfort food served in dark rooms with tall ceiling and red furniture. Very romantic. Either sit at a booth, at a small table text to the bar or have a look at the street. The Danish dry aged ribeye definitely has more taste than the uruguay steak, but both are very tender. We tried bearnaise sauce and peber sauce. Both very good. Onion rings has too much dough around them - not recommendable. Small salad has a tasty dressing. We tried the key lime pie which had too much creme on top and a too thick crust, otherwise pleasant perfect taste of lime. We didn't try the wine, but have heard good things about the wine selection. The redwine sauce should also be good, for people liking the strong taste. On the pricey side also the water, but you can choose tapwater. Quick serving. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Went to MASH on a Friday night, we didn't have any reservations, but we were able to get a table in the front area, which is designated for walk-ins. Nice overall atmosphere, the front area is less formal then the main dining room, so it was perfect for us (last minute dinner). Started off with some cocktails, the Moscow Mule and the Royal Southside, both were great. But I really loved the Moscow Mule. For food, we ordered the MASH Burger and the Tenderloin, both were delicious and cooked perfectly (medium). Copenhagen has some great burger places, but this was easily one of the best if not the best burger I've had here. It was so fresh, perfect amount of juiciness, and I loved the spicy salsa type sauce it came with. The sides, chill fries and MASH cream potatoes - wow on both!!! And the béarnaise sauce was also delicious. I must say this place exceeded my expectations. It was perfect that we were two because we got to have steak and a burger, it would have been hard to choose (especially now knowing how great they both are). Mash is a place for carnivores. It has a wide range of meat selection from various countries around the world, including the venerable Kobe. I was told that this is an expensive place, but the price is comparable to a good steak house in US, alas Peter Luger. Like all steak house, the sides are extra. We ate, we left full but there were small details that bothered me for a first time visitor especially for the price. We were greeted by a friendly host. We sat down, shortly after our server arrived, we made small chit chat, and they asked if we were ready to order. We weren't, he brought us bottled water and said he'd be back. He never came back. By the time we were ready. We probably waited an additional 10 mins before our server arrived (a different person) and asked if we were ready to order. Yay. 1. My old fashion was pre-made/bottled, chilled, and sealed. He opened/poured in front of me. I've never seen an old fashion served this way. That cost approximately $25 USD - pretty much if you wanted a specific whiskey that wouldn't be possible. 2. The side dishes appeared to be served in very hot ceramic containers on a corked pot holder. However it was one dish, and the pot itself was not very hot at all. In fact it was warm at best. 3. The American Ribeye I ordered was cooked perfectly(medium rare) but it was served warm at best, not piping hot as it should. Same thing for the tuna steak my wife ordered. It was served luke warm, warm at best :( 4. The physical dishes were very large for the meat cut themselves and very basic. Literally just a piece of beef or tuna on a giant white plate. Nothing extraordinary about it. 5. The spoons we received for dessert where large dinner spoons not dessert spoons. We used our cappuccino spoons instead. 6. They never once cleaned or de-crumbed our table, also they never refilled our water. 7. Our raspberry sorbet was delicious but it was served on a plate, not in a little ice cream bowl. From where we were sitting(near the front) it was hard to say if they were busy. We didn't have reservations so maybe it was busy in the main dining area. We are pretty easy going, but when you go into an establishment and spend $200 plus USD, you expect a more fine dining experience. This chain restaurant is just ok and wouldn't really recommend this specific MASH restaurant chain to anyone. I feel like there are probably other gems to be found in Copenhagen. Also, we are from Chicago and have spent $200 on extravagant dinners, so maybe this is the best Denmark has to offer with steakhouses, respectfully. read more

MASH reminds me of a modern American steakhouse. I was tempted to get the 90 day aged Danish steak but our waitress said it was a bit tough and had a strong flavor. I've had dry aged steaks many times but the description discouraged me from ordering it. While sitting at a table in the bar I looked around and saw several tables of locals. Of the six locals around me four were eating the MASH burger and it did not disappoint! Very tender meat, with great flavor and good fat content. One thing that made me scratch my head was the fact they could only do medium OR rare. NOT medium rare... wish I had an explanation for that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The fries were just normal shoestring fries but the onion rings were something special! Get them and you won't regret it. The corn side was also very tasty. We ordered the coconut ice cream, which was one of the top ice creams I've had maybe ever. Everything was great although for two people who got burgers and beers it was about $130 USD. København is a bit expensive but even that was a little steep. While in Denmark I was less than impressed with the food, so on last night I decided to play it safe and search out a steakhouse. I found MASH on Yelp and it relatively close to where I was so I thought it would be a safe bet. Unbenounced to me, because it was a Sunday, the didn't offer an a la cart menu, only a buffet. After taking a quick look at the offerings I decided to go for it. Great decision. While the selection wasn't as expansive as a buffet in the U.S. it offered a cool variety for every taste including the best beer salad I've ever had. There was some sliced beef with an excellent gravy, quiche, lamb and pork sausage, a variety of cheeses and breads along with some wonderful fresh veggie and side options And about the desert table! Again only about 6 option but all were super. The kicker was the atmosphere. The music was so good I asked the staff what it was. Turns out it was a spotify playlist that they were cool enough to share with me. I'll hold the name back so you can go check them out. Loved this place. Of course its Europe so for Americans it's a bit pricey but worth it I must say. $101 for 2 people. read more

Great restaurant. Highly recommend the Catena Malbec 2012 on their list of reds both by glass or bottle. One of the best pairing with steak that I've enjoyed. Danish bone in was 600g and good for 2 people to share with sides. It was cooked perfectly to medium rare but might be a touch too dry. Sauce and sides were great! My boyfriend loves his steak regularly was at the best steak houses in Manchester and London so he has high expectations. He went for the 90 day aged long bone and said it was the best steak he had ever eaten. My ribeye was equally as delicious. The steaks are fantastic. I had the Danish dry aged rib eye-ordered medium but the waitress recommended medium rare because of dry aging process used for the meat...good recommendation. I had the bernaise (sp?) sauce which went very well, nay, was so delicious! My girlfriend, Maria, had the German rib eye with the red wine au jus sauce, also very excellent quality. We also had 2 cocktails, were very well done; I had the journalist (nice and tangy) and Maria had the New York sour which was pretty damn good too. I give 4 stars because the sides seem to be an afterthought. We had Mac n cheese and chili fries; not bad but not the same quality as the meat. Service was friendly.
