    Want a great steak in Copenhagen?? This resto is a delicious break from the restaurants around the Tivoli Gardens. This resto was close to my first hotel, WakeUp Copenhagen and around the block from Copenhagen central train station. It is touristy, which I try to shy away from because prices are sky high......but, Hereford beef? and I saw the words organic? I was too hangry and needed sustenance..... I ran right in just before a torrential downpour hit.....and am glad. The restaurant was inviting, wood tables, attentive wait staff. There was a lunch special, burger plate, salad bar for a good price under $25 but I saw steak. Ain't no way I was havin' a burger. So I went for the steak plate: grilled NY steak, cut a little strange I thought. The plate came in a cast iron plate to keep the temperature and........... it was AMAYYYZING tasting, great temperature, medium rare, lots of flavor. It had so much flavor and a nice consistency I didn't wanna put anything on it. The fries were simply perfect. Crisp, flavorful too and organic too. Not really a heavy French fries person but I ate all the potatoes on my plate. Had the salmon appetizer which was really yummy and fresh but honestly was not necessary because we had so much food. Then comes the AYCE salad bar. The salad bar was small but incredible. Nothing tastier than farm-harvested products : lingonberries, olives fresh dates (never had these yummy) English peas carrots celery danish bacon tomatoes lettuces garbanzos tomatoes I came back another day just for the salad bar. This was my first of many great and unique meals in this great food rich city. Visits: 2 Tip: Don't tip in Copenhagen unless you are at a high-end (meaning Michelin) restaurant. It's not customary to tip waiters. I found that out when locals next to us went....we don't tip in Copenhagen.

    We had dinner at Tivoli here. The food is ok but for the price they charge I was expecting much better! Cenamos en Tivoli aqui. La comida esta bien pero por el precio que cobran me esperaba algo mucho mejor!

    4 stars for the food, minus 1 because of the service. My parents and I were pretty much ignored during our meal here. The staff were much more attentive to other tables, and it took forever for us to get their attention. If the service had just been a bit better, this place would have been a hit because the food was very good.

    Very nice place near Tivoli (Copenhagen Central station). The staff is kind and helpful. By day (until 3pm I guess) they serve some nice and flavored burgers...I tried the tuna one and it was great! My college went for the veal sirloin with boiled potato with "acid cream". In the complex the place was great and the price affordable if you are in holidays.

    We came here for dinner and I was excited to have some steak. For a place specialized in steak, I was definitely not impressed. The meat was a bit too dry, weirdly enough given that I ordered it medium and it was a bit bloody. The fries were good. My friend ordered a salad from the salad bar, and the options there were very small. There was no chicken or turkey or any type of proteins. There were very little carbs. A salad is greens but you do need some additional things on top of it. I thought it was expensive for what it provides. They open late though, which is good. Also, given that they are in a touristy place, next to Tivoli garden, I don't understand why they don't have wifi.

I'm not about to tell you that Retour Steak serves up the best beef dishes in the world because in my opinion, they don't. One would have travel to Japan for the best steak (Sorry Nebraska). But I will tell you this, FOR THE PRICE nothing comes close to this place. We made it a point to check this place out and after a previous attempt the night before decided to come by earlier. We arrived around 5:45 and already the dining room was crazy busy. The hostess did however find one available table, but that they would need the table later for an 8:00 reservation. If you're taking notes. Make a reservation! Since we had well over two hours, we knew we could take our time and have a cocktail to start. Handwritten on the special drinks for the evening "sidecar". Hello?! Music to my ears. My friend and I each ordered up a sidecar and a charcuterie platter to start. The sidecars were perfect, and even though I usually have mine made with whisky I went with the flow and let them make mine with cognac. It was delicious. The charcuterie was a small serving but perfect to share. Each of the meats were amazing. I wish I knew what the darker meat was, because that one was truly out of this world kick ass delicious. Steak time! And there are plenty of choices. But really this would be a no brainer as I am a fan of this little thing called the French fry. And the ribeye comes with those crispy potato things. Ribeye "medium rare" please. I'll get right to the point. The steak was cooked to perfection. It came topped with a little rosemary and roasted garlic. The garlic was the winner and enhanced the steak even more. I even saved a few to eat along with my fries. By the way, these fries were about as good as I have had in a long ASS time. Almost as good as I had in Belgium (which by the way is the Hall of Fame of fries). I did save room for dessert and again, this was an easy choice. The profiteroles were shouting out my name. Again, they scored a perfect 10. We each had a glass of dessert wine, a moscato and a tawny port which both were amazing. I can't stress how much I loved this place. And again, the fact that this place is reasonably priced makes it that much better. It's not cheap mind you, but for a steakhouse it's about as inexpensive you will find. The service was impeccable and constantly had servers checking in on us. They were also very helpful when it came to our wine selections. Just FYI, if you are standing on Østergade street and can't find the place, it's actually located on Ny Østergade 21 which is a side street off the main street (running perpendicular).

Floras impressed me. The first bright spot was our server Camilla. She immediately made us feel at ease with our English and walked us through the menu. She suggested some wines that would compliment the steaks and discussed how to pick the meat temperature based on our desired doneness. The second bright spot was the delivery. The meat was cooked exactly as I had requested. In Argentina they call it Juegoso and that is what I received. You can order different sauces to come with the meat, bernaise, pepper sauce, and something else. The meat really require a sauce but the bernaise went great with my papas frites. The French fries came out piping hot. We had a great time sitting out and watching the people, enjoying a nice steak, and enjoying the service. One might ask why anyone would order a steak in Copenhagen and I don't disagree. There was just something about having just arrived and wanting something familiar and a smiling face to help you through it. For the main entree, could not pass the opportunity to have the world tour- steak from Canada, Denmark, and Japan. The server brings the steaks table side for selection before they cook them to desired temp. On e they are ready, they bring the steaks cooked back to the table to share amongst guest. The service throughout was tops - the atmosphere is great, but but not noisy, this is a smart place, although as ever here, you don't have to dress up though its nice to...the food is superb... The sommelier chose the red and I asked about the grappa; I like it very cold - could he do that for me for the end of the meal. No issues - we chose 1 (that Valpolicella became the favourite and one other...plus he gave me a taste of something else...read on) and put it all on an ice bath in the freezer...fabulous. And it was...ah, the something else...an American Grappa...lighter fuel...blow out the candles please... Last year, we were a few hundred yards away and had some after drinks...not this time, as we were the other side of town...but that is nice to just sit in the bar after...recommended We may just find a good reason to pass by at Christmas...
