Had passed Pastis a few times while visiting Norreport and decided to give it a try. I called ahead to find out they stop serving food/kitchen closes (beverages are availabile) from 3:30-5:30 as a break between lunch and dinner. I arrived around 3 and decided to do the two course meal. I wanted Foie Gras as the second course so the server suggested the Nicoise Salad instead of the Chèvre Salad (next time) which was great advice. This salad was amazing! Perfect combo of Tuna (sashimi), anchovies, haricots verts, olives with a light dressing. The Foie Gras was also very good. The staff was attentive and friendly. Probably the top French restaurant in Copenhagen. I will be back to try some of the main courses.

Hello tartar! A tad salty but quite tasty.

Fantastic French bistro. Is it the best value for money in Cph? Definitely no, but it has its charm and if you're looking for a French bistro, this is a classic (if slightly expensive) one. We came here on a warm day and sat on the patio. The patio in itself is nothing special (it's basically the Aldi parking lot), but it's on Gothersgade which makes for really great people watching. Food is very good. I had the tartar, which came with a side of salad and fries. Both the tartar and fries were quite salty, but oh boy does that make them taste gooooood. Definitely can recommend the tartar. Yum! For dessert I tried the profiteroles and the crème brûlée. Both were excellent! I think the photos really show how nicely their crème brûlée is finished: perfectly caramelized top that's nice and crisp. Profiteroles were even better than the crème brûlée, I thought about them at home the next day they were so good. Not too sweet, and slightly bitter chocolate sauce with the profiteroles. Attentive and quick service. No complaints there.

Steak Fritte with Awesone Bernaise sauce!

We were walking back to City Hall and came across a nice looking French Bistro to catch a late lunch. We saw the delicious Steak Fritte plate from the people sitting next to us. It was a rib eye that came with small salad, and fries. Every piece of the meal was delicious. The steak was tender and very flavorful. The Béarnaise sauce was exceptional. It was pricey for a casual lunch - about $50+ USD without a drink. We were told Copenhagen is expensive - especially compared to Berlin where we had come from. It was a very enjoyable lunch. After seeing these other reviews and pictures, I wish I could go back and try the other items.

I remember back when I first arrived in Copenhagen, somehow stumbling open (gravitating toward?) Pastis on a cool spring day. A shared name with no affiliation to Pastis in New York, I couldn't help but be drawn in. And so naturally, on what would eventually become my quest to compile a checklist of all restaurants in CPH that were worth trying, Pastis was the first one I wrote down. Finally got there last night, and I was so thrilled that my expectations did not deceive me. Really great and friendly service, classy and cozy look and feel, mood lighting (great for date nights and girls nights), beautiful menu with a variety of the French food favorites, and a pretty extensive wine selection as well. 2/3 of us ordered the Steak Frites, because it just sort of felt like you couldn't NOT order it in a place like this, and it was delicious. My meat was cooked to order (medium rare), and the frites were amazing. We also shared the Chèvre Chaud salad (which, I must admit, was ordered more for the chévre chaud than it was for the salad) as a starter, and the "Pommes" (apple sorbet, applesauce, and apple crumble) for dessert. Both were fantastic. Overall, this is a great place to know about around town. Especially in the winter, I think I'd gladly camp myself at a corner table just about any time of day or night, and eat my heart out.

    Steak Frites (255 DK)

Walking in, the interior is decorated nicely, and the atmosphere is inviting. The outside looks a little shady, but never judge a book by its cover right. The service here was also great. Unfortunately, the price to food quality ratio just didn't do it for me. For 2 dishes and 2 beers, the tab came out to 470 DK (~$75), and this was for lunch. For the food, we got the Tartine de Foie Gras and the Steak Frites. The foie gras was... okay; I'm actually not a fan of it at all so the dish didn't really appeal to me. The steak was actually pretty good, but it cost 255 DK (~$40). While the meat was good, it wasn't anything spectacular, so it didn't warrant such a high price in my opinion. The steak was cooked very well though, and the garlic and tomato that accompanied it paired well. The fries themselves were okay, but the mayonnaise that came with it was amazing. It was creamy and perfect. The beer we got was surprising good (as I'm not a big fan of it). I actually don't know the name because we just asked the waitress for her recommendation, and she served us her recommendation for a light beer. It cost 20 DK per glass. Overall, definitely not a bad place, but for the price, I think there were definitely other places that would have satisfied me for less.

Great find for our one night trip in Copenhagen. I had the rabbit which is the best thing out of the other courses that was ordered. I highly recommend it! It was juicy and melts in your mouth. My sister had the steak and frites which was good but nothing special about it. My boyfriend had the lobster soup and it was also good but it was too heavy to eat it all. I would recommend also ordering the sweetbread as a starter.

This was my favorite dinner that we had in Copenhagen! Incredible service, amazing food, pretty outdoor seating. I wanted everything on the Menu! It was varied and well presented so that everyone could find something that made their mouth water. My dad had the chaud salad and the lamb. My mom had the salmon tartare and halibut (fish special). And my sister and I shared the chaud salad and halibut. While the menu is expensive, the portions are plenty big enough to share. The salmon tartare was good but the chaud salad was the true star. It comes with a huge chunk of grilled goat cheese! And I would eat goat cheese all day if I could. The halibut was a generous portion and crispy with a wonderful hollandaise sauce, potatoes, and white asparagus. My dad's lamb was tender and the gorgonzola sauce on the potatoes was a perfect complement to the sweet lamb. We loved this place and it was the best dinner we had by far! I only wish we had come here earlier so that we could have eaten here twice!

Lemon sole with neurre blanc and capers again great dish.

For a French Bistro I loved this place. Small, quaint, quiet and lit by candlelight inside on each table. A place for couples at night. When you go through the front door, you are greeted by complete blackness, its a curtain that you need to walk through. The service was great, very nice and is there for your every need. I ordered the homard or lobster which is cooked perfectly. My plate du Jour was Lemon sole with a brown butter caper sauce. Piping hot and again perfectly cooked. The place was packed and I can see why. It is on the high side of price but worth it as the food, décor and service hit on all marks. If I was given an amuse bouche it would have been 5 stars, mental note guys, with prices this high I suggest you start this trend. d

Mussels, fries and gin and tonic!

First meal ... Since I arrived Copenhagen this morning. To celebrate a new exciting journey ahead of me, I walked into Pastis for some mussels, fries and a glass of gin and tonic. As I sat and watched people walking down the street, I felt very thankful to have been able to enjoy such delicious meal in such sunny and warm afternoon. Cheers!

First and foremost, the staff here are amazing! They introduced themselves and inquire about our likings and preference. In addition, they made recommendations that matched our likings while offering popular dishes that most recently ordered. Their mussels are absolutely amazing. The flavor paired with the green onion is on another holy level. Their seaweed butter and sourdough bread is also a must order. The crispiness of the crust is something other bakers need to contend with. Scallops had a nice Asian flavor to was hard to pinpoint but it definitely ruffled some thoughts about the origin of the sauce. Also enjoyed the seaweed butter and fresh sour dough in the beginning. Overall, good experience. Nice service (people here are nice but not really warm- so it's an interesting vibe coming from the US). Probably great for a special occasion, but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

There were outside tables, but it was a bit chilly, so we opted for the nearly deserted inside restaurant. We had a table near the window, so it was a great view. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the service was very friendly. I ordered the gravlax open-faced sandwich, which is smoked salmon (very similar to lox) on an excellent sour dough bread. I opted to skip the mustard sauce, but the sandwich was perfect. My wife had the potato open-faced sandwich, which consisted of new potatoes, organic rye bread, lemon mayonnaise (romaleid), fried onions and pickled pearl onions. She really enjoyed it, along with her Spritz drink. Denmark seems to be one of those countries, where you cannot order tap water. Fair enough. However, our water consisted of an open carafe (which I'm sure was tap water), for which we were charged 50 Krona ($8). This seems high for tap water.
