The accompanying potato salad was light and vinegar/olive oil based rather than mayo based, which was a nice contrast to the rich brown butter sauce. Ambiance is super cute, exposed beams and brick, the old Noma spot. Great date night. Waiters were friendly and recommended their cider (specifically made for Barr) which reminded us of a sour + an orange wine. Spaeztle with chanterelle mushrooms was very savory, a little too rich for my liking but my partner loved it. One minor issue we had was the brown crab dish's crab was overpowered by the bitter char on the romaine lettuce, and I thought too little crab per bite.

It's located near canals, a museum, and several bustling restaurants. It's in the original Noma space, so most customers have high expectations. Atmosphere: The interior is Nordic chic, rustic and elegant. Even though we had a reservation, we were seated at a long table with other guests. At the time we were there, the angle of the sun hit me right in the eyes and I had trouble reading the menu and seeing for a few minutes. Their curtains are sheer, so they didn't help. The captain apologized, and said there was nothing he could do. Service: we were seated and given drinks menus. Everyone around us was served water, given menus and a description of what was available. Finally, a server came by to take our order, apologized for us not having menus nor water. I requested tap water, so I was surprised to be charged 30krone per carafe. Food: Every item shows technical proficiency and attention to detail. We ordered the schnitzel. It came with a small serving of fresh peas, cream, horseradish and a brown butter sauce. It was delicious. I would have liked more horseradish and peas. The sautéed leeks were served with salad greens and hard to cut. They tasted fine, but a sharper knife would have been appreciated; through our meal, no one came by. We also tried the hake. It looked small, but was very filling.

This is a surprising little gem in the downtown area. Surprising because it's wedged between a…read morecomedy club and a handful of so so cafés and eateries that prey on unassuming tourists, but also because the light and elegant Northern European decor doesn't quite prepare you for the authentic French bistro fare you're about to experience. The owners have a serious culinary pedigree, and don't disappoint. I've been here a few times with my mother and some friends, respectively and had seriously satisfying meals every time. Love the chèvre chaud, an old favorite, and the steak with bearnaise is always grilled to absolute juicy perfection. The sleeper hit is the salad; I just really really love a well made salad which is super simple and crunchy but with that thick and tangy mustard vinaigrette that complements everything on the plate. I haven't yet tried all the desserts, since I always go for the crème brûlée. So far I've had it paired with different sorbets, super yummy and true to the fruits, but alas I'm a purist, and really don't want anything cold and tangy interfering with my favorite pudding. Luckily my companions have been helpful in not letting anything go to waste. :) If you're ever in downtown CPH and hungry, keep this place in mind. They even have French "pizza" if you just need a quick bite during your lunch break. The staff are all super friendly and seem to genuinely love having you there. Very un-Danish in that respect. ;)
