You would not expect it by just walking by (unless you see their daily specials or actually eat there), but this place is pretty good. It has a lot to live up to since the name translates to "first" in English. I will say that there club sandwich for two is right up there. Despite not getting wheat bread (on request), which turned out fine as the sandwich was toasted, lathered with mayo, stacked with chicken that shreds (i.e. not the nasty pressed stuff some places serve), topped with crisp bacon and just the right amount of lettuce and tomato quite nicely. The coleslaw was noticeably vinegar based. Adding poutine per person sets you back $2 a person, but you (each) get a whopping sized plate. I almost wish it was one plate between two since I was so stuffed I could barely walk. The poutine sauce was excellent - the fries and not-so-squeaky cheese were average. Service was friendly and timely. A nice selection of daily specials adorn a small chalk board in the dining room (you get soup and salad included) which is also posted in the window. The decor is clean, but dated. They seem to have a knack for brochettes' (as there menu and cards state Brochetterie and Pizza) which I would like to try next time, as well as the sausage club sandwich claimed to be a house special too. Glad to have finally walked in and not just looked at the menus in the window. read more
