Thé Glacé du Maison - House Iced Tea (1/9/24)

When I stopped by for lunch at The Restaurant du Musée D'Orsay, I was impressed by the beautiful setting. Crystal chandeliers, beautiful white walls with ornate detailing. I was Surprised, however, by the inexpensive cafeteria-type table and plexiglass looking chairs. Inharmonious. There is an extensive variety on the à la carte portion of the menu or you can opt for a prix fixe meal. Since the choices of main (plat) were not to my liking, I chose the Tuesday Dish of the Day (à la carte): chicken with olives, grains and vegetables. When I got my dish, it was a quarter poached chicken, slightly browned on top lentils and lima beans with bits of tomato and other small bits of veggie. Not an olive in sight. Was the olive used in a sauce since this provided the salt element that the chicken was missing? The chicken was slightly dry which was not good (€24). I found the Thé Glacé Maison (house iced tea) to be delicious. A fruity and floral beverage perfectly balanced in sweetness. Service was very good. The volume of people descending on the restaurant is immense. I give a hand to the serving équipe (team). They kept their cool with a variety of French and non-French speaking patrons. Overall: Food 3.5 stars Service 4 stars Ambiance: 3.5 stars I would return and try some other main dish.

Sans surprise trop cher, cependant j'ai assez aimé mon café viennois et l'acceuil était sympa. Pratique si vous voulez passer toute la journée au musée

Definitely would stay away from the food at this museum. Great museum for the price, but the food was extremely overpriced and mediocre in taste! Great price on the wine however... The pasta was mediocre even though we were extremely hungry. You know the food isn't great when you are starving and it doesn't taste any good. However, I was content with the glass of wine and that made up for the food... They have so many tables with only a few servers, takes a while to get anything from drinks to food. Highly recommend the museum, not the museum restaurant.

A beautiful place to have lunch before seeing the museum! I enjoyed the petit chicken Caesar salad and it was delicious, the fresh Parmesan was sooo good! And overall the salad was very refreshing. The restaurant got crowded quickly, so I recommend going a little early to beat the lunch rush.

Beautiful exhibits, beautiful layout. They took an old train station and renovated it in the 80's into a remarkable museum. A must visit in Paris!

Go for the ceiling. What 5-Star review starts out with that? Yah, none do. Just walk in saying you are meeting a friend ~ gaze in amazement at the exquisite ceiling ~ and walk back out. I just saved you €60+ a head and 2-hours of time. The services was the only poor service we've received in Paris. I get hands off, but there was literally 60-minutes when we couldn't get anyone to help us ~ told twice "not your server". I hate saying it but for the first time in 27-years I actually considered dining and dashing... The food had a pretty presentation but was bland...well the parts I tried that were actually fully cooked. Try anywhere else.

This restaurant is located in the Musee d'Orsay as one of the restaurants. I love the interior. The service and the food are average, but the interior is fantastic and beautiful.

Decor: luxe Service: lax Food: la di da I wanted to feel posh and we were already at the musée so... The dining space is full of light and gilded gold. The chairs are poppy coloured Lucite. The ceilings are da Vinci stylay. Service took several beats after sitting. I was nodded at and ignored for a bit. I had lentils accented with mustard which was...different. I can't recall my main, it was that memorable. The bread was good, the wine was bright. For destination dining, doing the musée, would go again.

I came back to Paris, this time with my mom, it was her first time in Europe and I wanted her to experience what I had my first time in this wonderful city. After her tour of of the Musée D'Orsay, I treated her to lunch in this wonderful amazing restaurant on the second floor. This beautifully decorated restaurant will leave you a very wonderful dining experience that you won't forget. The staff is very friendly and is very attentive. From the furniture, the elegant chandeliers, the painted ceilings with eye to details is incongruous enough to keep your eyes wandering to soak in every bit. There's a 3 course special you can order from that includes the special of the day, or "Plat Du Jour". I order the chicken caesar salad, mom order the asparagus soup. For the main dish: I ordered the roast chicken with sweet peppers & mom ordered the "Plat Du Jour"; sea bass on rice. The starter was amazing and simple, clean and basic flavors that when put together is complex. Even the presentation is picture worthy. The main dish was just as amazing! The meats cooked to perfection and just enough vegetable condiments to bring it all together. For dessert; chocolate mousse on hazelnut nougat and the chocolate eclair. Perfect! With wine and beer, the whole meal was a great! Spend the early half of your day at the Musée D'Orsay but make your lunch in the restaurant part of your experience. I promise, you won't regret it! Bon Appetit! :)

Terrible service, after an hour we never received our meal and our waiter did not care at all. Too bad because the setting is so lovely.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.
