I'm opening up a new restaurant. Been shopping at restaurant Depot for couple of days to get all the ingredients. Came here yesterday (over $3k) and today ($500). Some of the people here are helpful, and others have no idea what they are doing. Customer service and employee attitude is not up to any good standard by a mile. Today, one of my partners had a personal item that he wanted to pay separately. He took it off the cart and put it next to him. Right before our cart was being finished, he looked for his box, and it was gone. They should have asked him if that was his before they took it away. But that wasn't the worst part. He ran back to the back of the store and got another box. Came back to the register and one of the employees told him that they're running late and needed to close, and told him that she just saw him get that item, essentially accused him of lying when he explained that someone took his box. By then there were 4-5 employees at the register and none of them admitted to removing the box. As his item was finally being rang up, we saw his box (the original one) on a cart behind the register. There were no apologies from anyone. We were going to let all of that go until what happened next. He paid for his item, and then instead of handing him the box or putting on the counter next to her, the lady just slammed the box on the floor, breaking it open. That's when my partner got upset and asked for the manager (Tony). We told him the whole thing and it's up to him now to bring the service to their customers and fix their employee's attitude. We are a new business, but we won't be going here much but instead try out other suppliers. We will go there if we have to but won't recommend others to go there until we notice a change. So your in the food service business. Need a couple hundred pounds of this and that; maybe a few cases of lettuce; or tuna steaks for a hundred; Restaurant Depot has it. This is not a COSTCO, but a wholesale food vendor. This place is huge. I mean you will get lost in the variety of different cuts of beef, chicken, pork, frozen product, etc. You need to know what you are looking for and once you do; know what to do with it. I love buying a butt of sirloin and butchering at home. I love having a thick cut of steak on the grill. Tasty. Like I said, you need to be in the food business. Lucky, the wife is a director at a local hotel. I get to go and enjoy buying bulk with her membership. I believe membership is free and you need to show Tax ID for certification. Not sure, but just call and ask. The only draw back is the check out line. Long wait. I mean a very long wait. I guess this is the price restaurants, etc. pay for do it yourself savings. Overall, quality is high. Always, have specials on various items they want to move. While, a three star New York Times restaurant may not buy their produce, meats, etc. here. This place is like a Costco except to be a member you need to own a business, and if it's a food business I don't think you pay tax on everything other businesses pay. This is the place I use to go to pick up almost anything I needed when I helped run the family business food or serving related. They sell things from food, beverages, frozen food, fresh fish, meat... and the list would go on. It was relatively close to work so I know things like cases of mayonnaise and such would be picked up regularly along with things such as pasta and veggie. If you own a restaurant or food establishment or just like throwing huge parties and own a business this is a place you need to check out. read more

Restaurant Depot has everything you need from produce to pans, and we're talking quality chef pans, not those non-sticks you can purchase at department stores. Prices are hard to quantify unless you work in a restaurant and understand food costs. If you do, then you're not reading this review, but if you don't, then you probably can't get into this store. The only way you can shop here is if you have a membership. And the only way to secure a membership is to own or work in a restaurant. I love this place, I could walk around Restaurant Depot for hours just looking at the product they have on the shelves from New Zealand beef to industrial dishwashers. We come here when shopping for large parties since a friend has a card. My only complaint about this location is the employees aren't usually very helpful unless it involves the seafood section because those guys are on the ball and always aggressively helpful. The prices for meats and seafood are really why I shop here but they have a great selection of produce, dry goods and some hard goods like sheet pans, etc. As others have said this place really is build for restaurants and most people there have their heads down and just want to get their shopping done which is nice because you don't get the Costco families clogging up the aisles! Like a lot of people, I heard the announcement made recently by Restaurant Depot which, in part, read like this: "Everyone deserves access to the products that they need to live their daily lives, so we want to do our part to ensure that nobody is going to wonder how they'll get through the week." So how could I not go, especially if they were gonna be so gosh-darn humanitarian about it? When I got there, I parked, found my way to the entrance, grabbed a dolly (as opposed to a cart), and proceeded to walk every aisle of the store, figuring it was probably going to be both the first and last time I would do so at this exclusive food retail outlet. I eventually found two things that I wanted to buy: a variety case of C&C soda bottles and, as I had hoped but didn't necessarily expect, a case of toilet paper! Granted, it was rest-room TP that wouldn't fit my home dispenser, but since my butt wouldn't know the difference, I happily grabbed the fairly-priced box. When my total was rung up, it seemed to be a few bucks higher than I expected, based on what I had seen on the shelf tags. But I just assumed that, between rounding off the cents from the displayed price, not accounting for tax, and less-than-CPA adding skills, I must have underestimated the cost. I then loaded my goods into my trunk and checked the receipt. Sure enough, the sodapop was cents higher than the posted price, and the paper was DOLLARS higher. That's when I noticed multiple references all over the receipt regarding my status as a temporary account (day-pass) holder, including the abbreviation "(TA)" on the same lines as the individual prices. It became apparent to me that I was being charged a higher price because I was not one of their regular restaurateur customers even though nothing was posted ahead of time about this in their announcement, the entrance, the shelf, or the checkout. It suddenly all made sense to me. Restaurant Depot was not opening up its doors to the public in the spirit of corporate citizenship. They were most likely feeling the crunch of many of their regular industry clientele keeping away (while those businesses remain temporarily shuttered during the pandemic), and the relaxing of the store's usual restrictions was just a desperate move on RD's part to make up for lost revenue. Basically, I had been suckered. Oh, and I almost forgot to share with you the jug of icing on the multipack of cakes: although they normally offer a reasonable return policy to their usual shoppers, MY receipt said "Public Temporary Pass / NO RETURNS!" No returns? No surprise. read more

When you come shopping in your nice little Mercedes-Benz make sure that you shut the back door very well or else you'll be like the guy who is in the middle of the street reloading all his groceries that flew out from the back of his car! The seafood/meat room is colder than a winter day in NY. This is like a costco, but of a specific type of products and cuts. 10lbs box of king crab legs, check. Various sizes of lobster, check. Room filled of cuts of beef, check. Mega size quantity of cheese puff balls, check. Various Drakes goods for a couples dollars per box, check. Many more things here, including restaurant supplies. You cant beat the prices. And the selection is much more vast than the other restaurant depots. Restaurant Depot is putting many restaurant supply wholesalers out of business for a reason. Now the shopping experience as a whole is below average. Nobody at this location speaks English and many of the cashiers are flat out rude. Also be alert while pushing your cart around because the employees on the fork lifts and pallet jacks will come with in inches of running you over. Thoroughly check your receipts and watch when they ring you up because the cashiers will sometimes ring up the same product twice or if an item is on sale it sometimes doesn't register. This place gets an A+ for savings and a D for shopping environment and employee friendliness. read more

I don't know how people from the public are getting access to this place? It's not that I care, but when I'm trying to pick up supplies and produce for my dad's store, it gets annoying when you have a few older ladies buying supplies for what seems like a bbq, only to hold you up when you're on line paying, or they want to know if they can only buy half a case instead. On a side note: Now I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but there is some rude Spanish lady that gets on line behind people and starts talking bad about the customers in front of her in Spanish. Apparently, this has happened a few times and the store knows about it. I would like to know what resturant she owns or works out of. "It's not Costco!" This is where the Restaurants purchase food. If you are looking for a local A&P, you may not be following Goggle maps. Restaurants would have been extorted by Sysco and similar companies if it was not for this place. Restaurant Depot is a way for the Restaurant to purchase food at a decent price and more importantly, sufficient quantity.
