Visited Bistro Grace on a Friday night, and thankfully I made a reservation in advance because the…read moreplace was pretty much fully booked. First, I want to mention the parking situation. Our reservation was for 7, and the parking lot is very small--there was literally no space available, so we had to park on the street. When we were seated, I noticed my last name written on the table, which was a very nice and thoughtful touch. Service overall was good and professional. However, for the price you pay, they seem a bit understaffed. The restaurant is small enough that you can get your server's attention, but some service details were slightly lacking. That said, the person refilling water was 10/10--super attentive. Another thing worth mentioning is the noise level. It can get very loud, making it hard to have a conversation. It would be nice if they added some kind of soundproofing or noise-reduction panels. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is excellent, but the loud atmosphere takes away from the experience a bit. As for the food--everything was excellent. I had the salmon, and my partner ordered the 1855 Black Angus, which literally melted in your mouth. It was incredibly soft and juicy--spectacular. The bread service is a must-try; we're still thinking about it! I also loved the "blackboard" menu featuring seasonal or weekly specials--very unique and a nice touch. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. There are a few minor things that could be improved, but I would definitely go back because the food was exceptional.

The little gnocchi were appropriately textured, with a nice pesto sauce to go along. It was filling without being overbearing. The lemon flavor in the gnocchi was a brilliant addition. The salad mentonnaise used really fresh radicchio and pine nuts. The orange vinaigrette gave the salad a really nice touch. The Dijon leek emulsion for the leeks vinaigrette was really neat, and helped give the braised leeks a lot of charcacter. The environs were pleasant, with windows open to air out a hot and humid day. The server was efficient, pleasant to speak with, extremely knowledgeable about the menu.

I chose the French onion soup and salmon entree, my mom went with the escargot to start and the pork chop for her main. The soup was so rich and delicious, my mom loved the snails. The salmon was cooked perfectly and my mom also enjoyed her pork chop. We also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts which were super tasty too. The portions were surprisingly large so we couldn't finish everything. They had asked us to switch tables partway through dining to accompany a larger party, which was fine for us and they offered us a complimentary dessert for the trouble. Since we were stuffed, we took the dessert to go. It was a deconstructed dulce de leche cheesecake and it was rich and so tasty. Would definitely return!

I do recommend making a reservation on open table prior to coming. Here is what I think of the food: Seasoning is generally saltier but not too overly. Escargot or the snails is yummy. It comes with the option of cheese on top. Dressed heavy with olive oil and garlic. They remove the shell so it makes it approachable if you were nervous about trying. Cheese & Charcuterie board is as what you imagined. It can't go wrong. Rack of Lamb was good. I do recommend highly. It comes with our 4-5 bones worth of protein with potatoes & veggies. Lost track of how many bones because it was eaten so fast. Duck confit was average. Let me explain, duck was average but the amount of spinach I gotten and how potatoes on the plate was good. Sides out shine the protein here. Side of Foie Gras was perfect because I was worried about having too much food. It did come on a small plate because it's a side dish and it was fatty and salty. Intermission was the best cocktail of the night. Fruity with a star anise on top so you smell it while drinking it because it was so close to your nose. Jazz District was okay. Overall, I do think this restaurant site fairly between 4&5 stars. Do try it. I would come back for special occasions and it's not an every night meal.
