Perhaps one of my favorite parts of our meal was the bread and butter... it's probably weird to say that but the butter was served in the shape of a 911 - talk about attention to detail! The bread was served warm and it was so good, we had to ask for more. For starters, we got the octopus and it was phenomenal. Not fishy at all, it was the perfect appetizer for two people. For the mains, we got the 917 burger and the salmon salad it they were delicious. The burger comes with bacon and fries and it's cool how the bun is hotstamped with the restaurants name on it. The meat was so juicy and tender, it was superb! The salad was so damn good and I'm not a big salad guy either. I loved the sauce and the piece of salmon. Restaurant 917 has great views of the Porsche handling circuit & always provides great customer service. Always a mainstay when visiting & their wagyu burger is incredible. They start you off with some soft pretzel sticks that my son loves to dip into the 'Porsche 911' shaped butter. What an incredible dining experience! We booked in advance since it does get pretty busy, especially on the weekends and we were seated immediately after our demo lap. Our server Camille took great care of us and sat us next to a window which was the best part: you got to watch all the people driving their laps while you dined, so fun! We watched so many people skid in and out of the water area, it was very cool to get to see the cars for an extended period of time since the demo lap was so brief. The dining experience was the real highlight of my experience here though. The hangar steak was perfectly cooked and the burger was juicy and delicious. The crudo was fresh and flavorful. I wish I had room for more than 1 dessert but the peanut butter chocolate bar with black pepper ice cream was absolutely delectable. I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Porsche Experience Center 917 Restaurant. I had booked a reservation months in advance for my husband's birthday, and they canceled the reservation on the day of--THREE HOURS before our scheduled time! Absolutely unacceptable. I had 917 Burger and Clam Pasta. 917 Burger tasted superb with a juicy Wagyu patty. Clam Pasta tasted a bit salty, but it tasted good with Chardonnay. And I had Affogato for dessert, which was simple but the best for dessert. What I liked most about Restaurant 917 was the excellent service from the friendly staff. I had one of the BEST experiences here! I believe it's reservation only so book far in advance because it fills up quick. Duck confit: 9.7/10 The duck was very tender and juicy. The roasted yams with burnt marshmallow added lots of flavor to the dish. The marshmallow was a unique touch and I would've never thought it would pair well. It was a bit too sweet for me but overall, it was very delicious and unique. 917 burger: 9/10 My bf said his burger was also very tender and you could truly taste the quality of the wagyu beef patty. We were in Los Angeles and stopped over at Restaurant 917 for our anniversary. We actually called for reservations and they didn't have any available. We tried our luck as walk-ins, and after about a 15 minute wait, they were able to seat us. Yay! (If they couldn't seat us, there is a more casual Speedster Cafe on the main floor that can serve you fast casual food or the food from Restaurant 917.) For those of you who don't know, Restaurant 917 is in the Porsche dealership and test track. There were a lot of people here on a business lunch and some who were there to do their test track experience. The restaurant overlooks the test track so you can see some people having a lot of fun in different Porsche vehicles while you eat. Food was a bit pricey (expected for the entertainment value), but was actually very delicious. We loved everything we ordered. The high quality of ingredients really surprised us. Service was also very good. Would definitely recommend if you are a car/Porsche fanatic or just want a nice meal overlooking the Porsche test tracks. I purchased the Father's Day brunch and a demo lap for my husband last year but we had to transfer it to a friend as we could no longer make it. Our friends went to brunch but couldn't do the demo lap. I guess someone crashed that day? Not too sure. Anywho, there was a delay in getting a refund so I emailed the GM Oliver, who offered to reschedule the demo lap with a fully comped meal. Oliver was quick to reply to emails and has been so helpful with rescheduling. We finally went last weekend, over a year after I originally purchased it, and we had such a wonderful time! This restaurant is tucked away in the Porsche Experience center in Carson. Typically they are fully booked for months and Reservations must be made in advance. I put my name on the waiting list and surprisingly received a text a few days later that a reservation opened up. Come a little early before your reservation so you can check out all the great cars. Once you go upstairs into the restaurant there's an observation deck where you can watch the Porsches drive around the track. The menu is limited, but the food is delicious. We started with the octopus, which was grilled to perfection not chewy at all, bursting with flavor. Seemed that most people were ordering the burger, which is the cheapest item on the menu, and it looked amazing. We opted for the duck confit and the scallops per recommendation , both tender and melted in your mouth. Our server Nestor was friendly attentive and offered some great options. Went there as a visitor on a chilly day. We had called in the check about the restaurant and were told it's functional and accessible to the visitor. However, restaurant was setting up for an event and did not bother to ask if I wanted anything or a space inside. Every visitor at that time kept circling between cafe, lounge and deck probably because they couldn't stand the cold weather and the restaurant wasn't functioning. When someone is paying for an experience - it's not just the drive but everything that comes with it. I wish they offered some nighttime options or a Sunday option. But I was glad to go. The staff and servers are very nice. The food took a while to come out, but that is OK as we understand. The drinks were better than the food! I personally wish the menu was more extensive. The menus we did order were just OK. I got the lobster pasta, which was a six out of 10. Something about the sauce was that tasty but I love that. The ship put out the lobster. Burger was eight out of 10. I enjoyed it. I wish the fries were a little more seasoned and flavorful. You start off with fresh pretzel bread served with perfectly molded butter pats in the shape of a Porsche with some sea salt. You might not eat carbs, but make an exception for this bread. It's light and mouth watering delicious. I highly recommend the Hamachi Crudo. It is literally the most fantastic tasting dishes. I shared it on my first visit and regretted it; so on my second visit I did not share. Your taste buds will high five you. This is one of the chefs specialties along with the Spanish Octopus. The Spanish Octopus is sous vide prepared so it was very tender and not at all chewy. It is cooked in some kind of pork fat which I could do without, but I still ate every bite and liked this. I've had the Ora King Salmon on both my visits. It's very good. The salmon is hot and flakey. You will not need a knife with this; just cut it with your fork. The fish sits lightly on top of vanilla parsnip purée with roasted carrots and some foamy citrus butter. They added a little citrus wedge as well which accompanied the dish perfectly. I've tried four different deserts on my two visits and they have all been delicious. They do rotate out the deserts which is nice since it is a limited menu. The Yuzu Green Tea Mousse pleasantly surprised me. The outside yellow part was a lovely lemon meringue flavor and inside was the green tea mousse on a sesame cracker/shell. Would definitely order this again. I really liked the Milk Chocolate Namelaka. Rich, decadent chocolate flavor inside with lightly toasted marshmallow. The Espresso Martinis and 917 Old Fashioned's were great. On both visits I've had incredible service. Nestor is amazing. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so friendly and helpful. My partner and I are LGBTQ and it was so relieving to find comfort in the fact that nobody was going to treat us differently. I couldn't afford the driving experience for my partner, but we asked an instructor if it was possible for us to at least sit in a car and take pictures, and they were MORE than happy to do that for us.
