Update: Today, 3/6/2014, I went to Respectech and got a replacement media headset, I received an apology ,but not from the rude chump I met on my last trip to respectech. I am happy that I got a replacement that was a little more expensive. I do accept the apology of the owner and manager who apologized,I give them 4 stars for their actions and behavior. However, I am not totally happy because I don't think the chump learned anything from this experience, I was told he was in the field but I think he should have been at that office apologizing for his rude behavior, and there is no excuse whatsoever for that type of behavior. I was also told that he was doing what he was asked to do. I am sorry but words were not put in his mouth! I guess the apology that was promised wasn't in the cards.I would like to upgrade this review to 3.5 stars because I believe that everyone should be responsible for their own behavior! I can not in good conscience give 4 stars because I am not a fan of this! I am sure in time I can overlook this, I just don't know how much time it will take. Someone suggested that I should allow this person to possibly touch my computer someday if needed. It will be a cold day in a very hot place that starts with H and ends with L before I ever let that happen! I would have liked to give 4 stars to the other nice people, once the chump apologizes I will revise this review. Today, Beau, the owner of RespecTech called me today apologizing for the behavior of this employee and offered to refund or replace my damaged media headset. The "Chump" will also give me a verbal apology when I come in to pick up the headset. This is the miracle that was needed to have me do business with this company again. I a upgrading my rating to 3 stars and once the situation has been resolved, I will update my rating again. I purchased a universal power adapter, a media headset with microphone, and a router from this company 2 days ago. Today my Media Headset with microphone broke so I drove from Yorkville to Ukiah to return it. The technician tried to find a replacement but I had purchased the last one. He decided to ask the manager what to do. The manager told me that the only explanation for this problem was that someone must have yanked on the cord. The manager basically called me a liar when I told him I did not pull the cord out incorrectly and break the cord. I am an executive in the Medical Device Field. I would never call a customer a liar or lose a customer for $14 like the rude, and disrespectful manager of this company did today. I was very happy with the Technician's service the other day. I was also very happy with the woman who helped me the other day. But I am not used to being called a liar or receiving the type of poor customer service I received today. Maybe in this industry they have not been taught how much work, effort , and money it takes to develop customer relationships and create loyal customers. I spent over $100 at this business 2 days ago and the "chump" did not want to refund $14. Even if he could not refund the money he could have been more respectful! I was also considering spending another $375 on a used computer at this business! I am returning any item that has not been used as soon as possible. It would take a miracle for me to do business with this company again. This geek central! The only place I know in Ukiah to get computer help. Unfortunately, customer service is not good. I had a tech come to my business to fix some computer issues. He never even set down, charge was $170 and problems weren't fixed. Another time I brought my laptop in, turned out to be a minor issue, fixed on the spot, but I let myself be talked into leaving my laptop for a check up because it takes a while booting up. Cost $30. The tech told me that I should uninstall my security protection if I wanted the machine to boot up faster. I think NOT! Most recent I purchased a replacement battery for same laptop. My computer stopped working once I installed the battery. My wife took computer and battery to the shop. Tech started computer it was working, but didn't check battery. Computer comes home, isn't working. Why the tech didn't take the time to check the battery, I'll never know. Now I gotta go back for the 4th time. On top of it I walked in with my leashed and well behaved dogs and was yelled at "we are not dog friendly". No kidding! Once battery issue is resolved. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Since 2008 we have taken our office & home computers to Respectech for service / repair: HD data recovery, OS issues, power supply issues, etc. Respectech has ALWAYS provided good service in a timely manner and treated us as knowledgable customers - (we built / assembled all 9 PC computers they have worked on). Respectech's labor & parts prices are very good, especially compared to our local big box store & staff. We will continue to give our business to Respectech. Wow, where to begin? I brought an external hard drive to Respectech on the 13th of July because it would no longer mount when plugged in. I was told that it would take a week for them to "figure out" what was wrong with it. I left the drive with them and waited for the promised return call. After a week, the call never came. I contacted the business inquiring about the status of the drive. I was told that they could not access the data and that it would need to be sent to the data recovery company they work with. I authorized them to send the drive off and was told that the data recovery company would contact me directly in about a week. Again, I waited... and, no call came. After two plus weeks I called Respectech and again inquired about the status of my drive. I was told that they failed to send the drive to the data recovery company. I asked to speak with the manager. They were not available. I asked that the owner of the business contact me. He returned my call a few hours later. I made him aware of what had and had not occurred. He assure me that the matter would be handled and that my drive would be sent to the data recovery company. An additional two weeks have now passed. Yesterday afternoon I received a phone call from Respectech asking me what I wanted to do with my drive. Yes, they still had my drive and after nearly 5 weeks had yet to send it off to the data recovery company. Three separate employees were involved in this matter (including the owner), and all of them dropped the ball. So, today I went to Respectech to pick up my property. All they were able to return to me was the actual drive. The case and board for the drive was gone. There quote... "we don't keep those".... Excuse me? Yes, they discarded/lost/misplaced what I consider to be my property without my consent. To add insult to injury, they still charged me a $34 fee to provide me poor service. I must agree with the review by Lulzsec, this is no more than and "Old Junk Shop". I would not recommend anyone bring items for repair or assessment to Respectech. This business has poor customer service. They are disorganized and lack the ability to effectively meet the most basic needs of their costumers.
