We drove an hour to ukiah and had to turn around and drive back to her home. I live in a different state. I had to revisit this same location a month later, when visiting my mother again to go back to this store and turn in his phone to get the service turned off. We were met with attitude and practically sneered at. May this location be known as a place to go and feel like you're inconveniencing the team because you don't want to buy something. I hope their district manager knows what a bunch of jerks work here. Having someone die unexpectedly and then be told that you are wrong and they cannot shut down the phone because his recently widowed wife isn't listed on the account is nothing short of humiliating. I had called into the Verizon line and been transferred to a department for deceased customers. They told me to go to the corporate store and they'd put info on the file that we were going to need to remove a phone line. Noooope. May they have the same sort of treatment happen to them when they're feeling low. Maybe when their parent dies and they are trying to help the surviving parent and are grieving the loss of stability they've lost, they can have someone loudly tell them they are WRONG and CANNOT be helped. Hopes and prayers. Update - I found out they did not cancel the account and close it when we went in. Verizon has been charging my elderly parent for a phone line that doesn't exist. So I have to go back to a Verizon store in a different state to get this taken care of. It's been 4 months they've been charging my parent. Insane.

So I walked in to the brand new Ukiah U.S. Cellular store there on Airport blvd to see what was up with that. My recollection of the conversation with the service tech at the store was that there was a software upgrade / update and that might do the trick. Um.. OK... I thought it was great that he was concerned about any data, photos etc that might be on the phone as the update would probably wipe all that out. I have everything backed up on the cloud so I said.. lets do it. Well.. emails work again, but the option to use the phone as a hotspot has been removed unless I increase my plan by $25/month. I dialed 611 and spoke to an associate. I asked her if not using my phone as a hotspot was stated on my contract. She replied with: "I don't know if it was or it wasn't". If they tape these calls.. check the tape. That's what she said. Well.. If a US Cellular employee who answers customer questions all day long and who can see my entire account on their screen can't answer that question then how am I supposed to know about this? Why would I be sold a data plan on a phone where using one of it's built in functions would violate the carriers terms of service?

I changed providers just a few days into their billing period - which bills in advance. I was really surprised by their policy where I had to keep paying for another month of coverage even after canceling my service. They charged me for a partial upfront when I signed up. Why can't they refund the 'unused' portion of the month? That just doesn't seem right to me. Why should I have to pay for a service I'm not even using anymore, especially if the reason for cancelling was because the coverage/service was bad? The customer service rep I talked to only stated it was their policy. It left me feeling pretty frustrated and let down. I don't remember them telling me that 15+ years ago, that I would have to continue paying after leaving them Probably a T-Mobile decision. This experience definitely makes me NEVER to use them again..

With Comcast to You have to keep calling until you get someone who knows something. We were lucky and got someone knowledgeable on only our second call. -Upon returning for unencumbered Cable Cards we were told by another clerk at the store that "Comcast was still analog in Ukiah" and no Cable Card would work in our device. This was the easy answer because it meant she did not have to do anything. It was also a wrong answer but instead of arguing, we persuaded her to give us the Cards anyway. -We called Comcast again and (credit where credit is due) the FIRST person we talked to knew there business and activated the TiVo. Would I go to that Comcast store again? Yes, because including internet, what choice do I have?

I called the returns department and they tell me to call customer service cause they can send you a box and a label. I seriously questioned this as I have never had them offer me a box and a label. I was correct, no box and label. I was transferred around and around. I was finally told that I could I could use a label I had previously used. Honestly I doubt it but at this point, I give up. If they are to unknowledgeable about how to do their job I do not know how to fix that. I will try and use this label and if it doesn't work I quit! I do not have hours and hours to spend on the phone. I have only ever had one employee there go way above and beyond to help me out. That was back in January. Ernesto, was so helpful and actually got me the label I am reusing. Other than him every single time I have called Xfinity it is a zoo.
