So I walked in to the brand new Ukiah U.S. Cellular store there on Airport blvd to see what was up with that. My recollection of the conversation with the service tech at the store was that there was a software upgrade / update and that might do the trick. Um.. OK... I thought it was great that he was concerned about any data, photos etc that might be on the phone as the update would probably wipe all that out. I have everything backed up on the cloud so I said.. lets do it. Well.. emails work again, but the option to use the phone as a hotspot has been removed unless I increase my plan by $25/month. I dialed 611 and spoke to an associate. I asked her if not using my phone as a hotspot was stated on my contract. She replied with: "I don't know if it was or it wasn't". If they tape these calls.. check the tape. That's what she said. Well.. If a US Cellular employee who answers customer questions all day long and who can see my entire account on their screen can't answer that question then how am I supposed to know about this? Why would I be sold a data plan on a phone where using one of it's built in functions would violate the carriers terms of service?

I would not go here. Ever. I also urge others to file a complaint if they have had this experience. Laws need to be made to protect consumers.. But we also share information in ways that may be considered a "sale" of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the Nevada Privacy Law."- ATT I would like to add, I travel frequently all over the US and when I make a purchase anywhere else if they ask to scan my ID (everywhere else is polite enough to ask first) I request they do not scan my ID but verify my account with passcode or other means such as passport, credit cards, employee ID they are all agreeable and accommodating.Some do not realize there is more intent of scanning ID than verifying identity. I also have been a regular in my hometown store for 15+ years. These duplicitous donkeys should be avoided.

I was told it would take an hour to transfer my info to the new phone. When I came back to pick it up they never finished downloading my info. And then told me how to do it myself at home. Walking out the bald guy said to remember that the young red headed girl was the one that helped me. Well later that night my teenage daughter pointed out that my camera was fine, only my camera protector was broken (I got the phone 3 years ago, I forgot about that dang camera protector). The people working at Ukiah TMobilr are dishonest. They should have told me. If the girl was inept they could have explained it to me. I probably would have kept the phone anyway and I realize I was wrong thinking it was broken. But shouldn't they have been able to show me my error. They literally let me leave without letting me know I was mistaken. They let me go and didnt say a word except that I should remember it was all the red headed girls fault. Buyer beware, its bad business with them. I will be making a formal complaint with corporate.

HORRIBLE company. I…read morewas a customer of this company for 15+ years. Over the last few years, their coverage & customer service has gone way downhill. I changed providers just a few days into their billing period - which bills in advance. I was really surprised by their policy where I had to keep paying for another month of coverage even after canceling my service. They charged me for a partial upfront when I signed up. Why can't they refund the 'unused' portion of the month? That just doesn't seem right to me. Why should I have to pay for a service I'm not even using anymore, especially if the reason for cancelling was because the coverage/service was bad? The customer service rep I talked to only stated it was their policy. It left me feeling pretty frustrated and let down. I don't remember them telling me that 15+ years ago, that I would have to continue paying after leaving them Probably a T-Mobile decision. This experience definitely makes me NEVER to use them again..
