    Drowsy Water Ranch

Last year as a family we decided to skip the whole Christmas shebang and plan a dream family…read morevacation. Wow! I am so glad we did! It was the best decision ever! We all collectively arrived on Sunday and were greeted by the kindest, warmest staff, the most spectacular setting in a beautiful valley surrounded by the vast Rocky Mountains. This is truly an authentic old school dude ranch. Beautiful and quaint little log cabins scattered throughout the property to offer just enough privacy yet at the same time you felt like part of a small intimate village that left the rest of the world behind in the best way. Dinners are all served family style in the main dining hall, there are multiple community gathering areas to chat, watch the children play and run, watch the wranglers get the horses ready for the day and rest and relax before the next activity. The days start early with a full cooked to order breakfast then off to a trail ride (the wranglers tell some fantastic stories as well), fishing, white water rafting, hiking or even mountain biking. You are paired with your horse for the week and the staff goes to great lengths to make sure you are paired with the right horse. They have horses for EVERY skill level. (Beware -you WILL form a bond over horsey treats, nuzzles and head rubs and it will be really REALLY hard to say goodbye) There is entertainment in the evenings like campfires, music and a super fun variety show. The kids will also put on a really fun rodeo. There will be early morning breakfast rides, dinner rides and your heart will find a new love for the great outdoors, newfound friends who will now feel like family and the Fosha's and their incredible and dedicated staff -many of which have returned every summer for years (when asking one wrangler about her experience working at the ranch-she got tears in her eyes and expressed her love and sentiment for the Fosha's becoming a second family and how the ranch felt like home). The experience will leave you longing to return and (intelligently) booking your trip for the following year.

Last August, my family (2 grandparents, 1 daughter, 1 son-in-law, 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and…read more1 more daughter - 8 in all) took the trip of a lifetime. We had planned it 2 years earlier, got thru the covid year and were able to go this year. A truly authentic dude ranch, surrounded by spectacular mountains, dotted with rustic private cabins barns, horse rings and trails, a pool, fishing pond, volley ball (kids loved!) There were programs for everyone, including my 2 year old grandson (riding and daycamp) and my daughter, the experience rider (English). Two trail rides un in the mountains were available daily. There were evening programs: sing-a-longs and wrangler talent night, etc.) The food was great, whether in the mess hall or outside at the chuck wagon. It was basic, plentiful and hearty. The staff, from the "wranglers" to the cooks, to the people who maintainer everything, were welcoming, and very good at what they do. The owners especially are very friendly, mixing in with everyone. We thought it was not expensive for what we received and heard there were other places that were much more glamorous and not as family friendly. I hope were get to go again, and we highly recommend it!

The ranch is very close to Winter Park Ski Resort and an hour or so drive away from Vail. We skied both mountains over our four day stay at the ranch. Each day our group of friends returned from a long day of skiing to cook meals together and sit by the massive fire. There are also lots of other activities to do around the ranch like tubing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, etc... You can't go wrong staying at Eagle Eye Ranch!

The…read moreranch house is 100 years old this year, and yes, it is rustic (meaning kept true to its period), but it was clean, comfortable, had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was completely stocked with everything needed for meal prep and serving, a large butcher block table in the kitchen made meal prep so easy and everyone could sit around visiting while preparing meals or eating breakfast. A comfy dining room with fireplace made our evening meals warm and relaxing. A huge fireplace in the living room welcomed us every time we entered the house, and we all loved sitting in there and reading, visiting, napping and watching football on the big screen TV. There are games and movies available. Plenty of split wood for the fireplaces is stacked on the porch. The bedrooms are small, but clean and comfortable, and since we were not interested in sitting in the bedrooms, they were not an issue to us. There is a fantastic big sauna on the third floor which we took full advantage of before bed most nights. Outdoors, a huge porch with rocking chairs welcomed us and a lot of good conversation occurred out there while watching the wildlife and listening to the aspen leaves blowing in the wind. They were changing colors and were beautiful. The house sits on a high hill overlooking a valley, and the river and train track are about a half mile away. Yes, we could hear the train in the distance, but it was no problem for us. A huge butane fireplace and comfortable chairs was another outdoor area we took full advantage of. A large bbq is around the corner on the porch and the guys grilled several evenings. There were NO BATS or any other critters in the house. The caretakers do live nearby, but other than warmly welcoming us the first day, the only interaction with them was instigated by us. The husband is an accountant in Granby, but the wife is home and they have two small children who were never seen outdoors and never invaded our privacy. Their 1 dog goes to work with the husband, and was in their house otherwise. Most of our time was spent at the ranch and we walked to the main highway several times which is a mile round trip. The river offered beautiful photo ops. Several day trips included, Grand Lakes, Estes Park, Winter Park and Silver Creek Ski area which are all nearby. Granby has a nice grocery store. My personal opinion is that the person who wrote such a negative review was expecting a very modern home, not a 100 year old piece of history. For us, it was just what we wanted and expected and gave us a chance to spend quality time with friends from Texas, California and Arizona. We hope to return again.

The house is located near the Pole Creek golf course, and the views of Sheep Mountain in Indian Peeks were breathtaking. We found everything as described on the website and the check in process went smoothly. The house was very clean and spacious and we loved the rustic decor. The kitchen was fully equipped and allowed us to prepare all of our meals. We also enjoyed using the hot tub which was a great way to relax after a day on the course. Overall, we had a great experience with Winter Park Escapes and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable and scenic vacation rental. The only issue was the dishwasher did not work and caused a leak.

We rented Lakota Dreamcatcher Villa 510 for a Father's Day family weekend (June 18-21), but the…read moreproperty failed to meet the advertised luxury standards and fell well short of our expectations. Upon arrival, we found five toilets stored in the garage, blocking one side. The next day, a delivery driver brought a sixth toilet and left it there, saying the owner had instructed him to do so. This happened while my elderly father, who has Alzheimer's, was present for the holiday weekend. Safety and comfort issues: * A broken screen on the lower level let many bugs into the house on our last night. We had to move a card game upstairs because we couldn't use the poker table because of the bugs everywhere. * The upstairs deck lacks shades or blinds on the west-facing glass doors, making it unusable in the afternoon sun. In contrast, the ground floor has shades. * The provided pots and pans were of poor quality and did not heat evenly. During our stay, my truck, parked in the garage and driven only once, had a slashed tire that went completely flat. I requested a review of camera footage but received no resolution. Despite paying an early check-in fee and requesting a late checkout, my concerns were met with automated responses. When I reported the tire damage and broken screen, the property management company referenced the listing's 4.96-star rating and said, "Not every property will be the right fit for every traveler." They closed the conversation without addressing my concerns and directed further disputes to Airbnb Support. This property was advertised as a luxury escape, but our experience was marred by maintenance and storage issues, unresolved vehicle damage, and a lack of meaningful resolution from the host team. I would not stay here again and highly recommend avoiding this property or any managed by Winter Park Escapes. After I worked with Airbnb support, which was great, we found a solution with zero help from Winter Park Escapes, as repeatedly requested by Airbnb Support. I tried to leave this review, but it looks like Winter Park Escapes changed the email address, preventing me from leaving one. The 4.96 stars seem fake, as I am sure others have experienced the same lack of respect and action by Winter Park Escapes. It seems to be a property company that's only interested in ripping people off.

When I called the lodge, she had to walk to the office to take my reservation (since the whole property is only run by 2-3 people and often she is somewhere else other than the office). The booking was not that hard over the phone but make sure you speak slowly and clearly when you give her any info invovling numbers :D The check-in time is 3pm and check out time is 10am but you can call ahead to check in or check out at an earlier or later time. Upon arrival, Eddie and her daughter greeted us warmly. We were told since the room we originally booked had some plumbing issues we got upgraded to a better room. Yay! The new room is bigger and has a fire place. Eddie took us on a mini tour to see the other lodges on the property as well since each one has a different theme and they are actually quite funky. The lodge we stayed at was small but had adequate space. The kitchen has everything you need except spices and seasonings. There are lodges that can accommodate pets so just ask. We hiked a bit (since the lodge is pretty close to Rocky Mountain National Park. We also went to Hot Sulfur Springs at night (check out my review here http://www.yelp.com/biz/hot-sulphur-springs-resort-and-spa-hot-sulphur-springs#hrid:olYd01SdW95whyRPgZKegg) I like the fact that the lodge is close to those two things. You can probably also ski and ride horses around the area too. Just a note, before you check out, you need to take out the trash and clean the room otherwise they will fine you $25.

The dishes are not locked up and are very accessible to little children, door didn't lock and kept blowing open throughout the night. Kids easily could run out or dogs! I had black hair in my sheets. The water pressure is a trickle making showering unenjoyable and dishes very hard to clean! YOU ARE EXPECTED TO CLEAN YOUR DISHES AND ROOM before checkout, we got passive aggressive comments from SUE because I'm the WIFE and left six dishes in the sink! IT WAS MY JOB to clean them! I didn't know, there were no signs! NOW THE BIGGEST CON of all! Passive aggressive property manager! DO NOT STAY here!!! SPEND YOUR MONEY on a airbnb that deserves it! They didn't even ask us to leave but threatened to call the COPs if we didn't leave in 5 minutes in front of my toddler and infant child! I am still in SHOCK! I would like to laugh and JOKE I HAVE BEEN KICKED OUT OF NICER PLACES THEN THIS! Let me start by saying we are not criminals, we don't drink excessively and are a pretty nice clean family. After trying to coordinate a room change ALL DAY with SUE, she finally gave us 20min to switch rooms so I left the six dishes and didn't vacuum. I was honestly concerned about her turn around time! The kiddos had spilled some animal crackers on the floor but nothing a quick vacuum wouldn't fix! NOW she DID NOT TURN OVER a Room Properly! It takes more then twenty minutes to properly clean a kitchen, bedroom and bath with linens, I was a maid for years! INDUSTRY STANDARDS would say all linens need to be striped and changed. Surfaces disinfected esp. with COVID! Vacuum and mop! You would have thought we left shit In the toilet, vomit on the floor and a blown up burrito in the microwave! (ALL of WHICH I HAVE GRACIOUSLY CLEANED IN MY DAY!). So I DO THINK THE DISHES ARE NOT PROPERLY WASHED, THE BLANKETS DO NOT GET WASHED BETWEEN GUESTS AND NO MOPPING. I hope SUE gets out of the hospitality business! She thought my two year olds graham cracker floor mess was PERSONAL and it wasn't! We did leave a NORMAL mess, WE WERE ON VACATION! STAY ELSEWHERE! They kicked out our little sweet family, to fend for ourselves with 1-70 closed and the pass closed. REALLY!
