We really enjoyed the complimentary Mortal Hydration electrolyte packets in our room, robes for guests, room humidifier for the dry altitude and bottle filling stations in the gym and bar. The hot tub gave us a place to soak when we were sore after workouts and horseback rides. There were a few minor things that need attention, like one of the hot tubs being out of order, a water fountain filter needing to be changed - but they weren't things that impacted our overall wonderful stay.

It wasn't exceptionally clean, but it wasn't dirty either, and the linens were clean. So cleanliness wasn't really the issue. The biggest problem was the noise. I stayed in a ground-floor unit and could hear virtually every footstep from the room above me throughout the night. My room was also next to the kitchen, and I could hear almost everything happening in the neighboring rooms. The walls and floors provide very little sound insulation. For a hotel at this price point, I expect significantly better. Being able to sleep comfortably shouldn't be a luxury, and the constant noise made the stay frustrating. Overall, I'd give the room cleanliness 4/5, but the hotel experience 2/5. The noise was simply too much for me, especially given the price. Let's not forget the surprise $15 per night parking either. I would not stay at Gravity Haus again.

We secured a very reasonable rate for the Corvette Car Show weekend. The Gateway Inn has a hot tub, sauna, a nice lounge (another of my "patio places to go" collection) as well as a Keurig alongside a vending machine at the front lobby. Since Winter Park collected monies for the trip insurance for Spot, and I was SPECIFICALLY TOLD ON AUG 24 2025 on the phone while booking my christmas reservation that "the trip including insurance was FULLY REFUNDABLE" prior to 22 days before arrival. I recieved an email yesterday 9-4-25 from SPOT which I assumed at first glance was junk marketing. I then noticed it said action needed. I was confused by this and called Winter Park. It was very confusing because I assumed everything was good since I specifically asked for trip ins to be put on the trip. I filled in names of the travelers online and thought it was all good. It seems QUITE DECEIVING on the part of WP to collect over $317 and NOT add the actual ins for each person to the trip? This is SENSELESS! It is NOT THE CUSTOMER who contracted a 3rd party, and I did not pay the 3rd party. I paid Winter Park for trip coverage. Winter Park sends so many marketing emails that anyone who reserves might miss the SMALL PRINT or an email. Since the scheduled trip is months away, it seems as though this is an opportunity to RIP OFF people who reserve and buy trip insurance and then find out on DAY 11, that they somehow did not correctly complete creating an account with SPOT to add names of travelers. It was UNCLEAR since I paid $317 to WINTER PARK for insurance, that you must take time to go create an account with their 3rd party SPOT. This is absurd, senseless and time consuming. WInter Park should have sent a warning email (reminding customers to add travelers if not done) but even more so, WINTER PARK SHOULD ADD THE TRAVELERS AT THE RESERVATION and this could have been avoided. I may have then kept all 5 of my reserved stays (each with trip ins) and totaling well above $10K. Instead I called and canceled each one. This experience with them was SO BAD that I canceled ALL future reserved stays and I am writing this to warn future possible customers. When I first called Winter Park on DAY 11 after booking DEC to explain that I just then received an email from SPOT and was totally confused, they pushed it off and told me to contact SPOT. SPOT told me to contact Winter Park and back and forth it went. They both REFUSED to refund the $317. This policy is UNFAIR, UNCLEAR given the timing of the future trip. They've lost me as a customer forever, and just to be clear from this point going forward, I will return to EPIC for skiing. If you do ski winter park, I suggest looking into several other alternatives for lodging. There are many other BETTER options, and they do have more fair policies on cancellations.

All the local businesses were within walking distance, and included lots of good restaurants, all who practiced CDC recommendations. We parked right next to our cabin, The Hummingbird. The shower provided lots of hot water with great water pressure. There's a cute little screened in area with a booth to sit and watch the hummingbirds. We were only 1 mile away from the Rocky Mountain National Park. It was quiet here and we enjoyed watching Netflix as well as cable TV at night. Would definitely go back!

Not on the lake nor on the river, but close enough to both to hear the water rushing, and smell the breeze off the water! High up enough to see Osprey roosting, which happened to be the name of the cozy cabin we were in. Ultra modern and rustic at the same time. It made me fall in love with the blue of beetle-kill pine when finished. It had all the things you'd want in a room, microwave, 2 burner cook top, fridge, and sink. dishes, coffee maker, (and good coffee) The management was very friendly and accommodating, greeting us on check in by first name, and answering questions happily. It was quiet because some of the businesses had closed for the season and only half of the cabins were booked so I'm curious how things would be during the summer when it's busy. First off, Mike and Ali are great owners. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into this place. We stayed in the Angler cabin and it was SPOTLESS. I love the exposed wood and the furniture was all super comfy. Some of my main requirements for staying somewhere are safety, comfort, and cleanliness & they nailed it in every category. The amenities are a nice to have too. The location is great, just a short walk up from the main road with all the shops and restaurants and another block up from the lake. It's perfectly centralized and sits among other homes/cabins. The "village" is set up like a grid with all the cabins enclosed inside of a wooden gate and there's a super cute and cozy hangout pergola in the middle with a fire pit and cornhole boards. There's plenty of seating around the quaint property and each cabin comes with a picnic table, grill, and Adirondack chairs. The check-in process was easy-peasy and we were greeted with two complimentary Colorado beers in the fridge and a bottle of water. The cabin is equipped with everything you could possibly need - cooking tools and basic seasonings, coffee maker, towels, extra blankets, a dishwasher. The water pressure in the shower was great. There's a canteen on the property where you can rent movies, games, outdoor equipment, yoga mats, etc at no cost and there are also necessities for purchase. It's a touchless system which is nice. I can't say enough about how wonderful Lupine Village is and I can't wait to come back!

Heck one of my favorite places is the Best Western in Winterpark built in the early 80s... it ain't the Ritz! But for $250-300 per night for a 1 bed room + kitchen in Grand Lake without any view, next to an alley... it should be a lot better than this place The good... Everything was clean. Appliances, fans, heaters, dishes, pots/pans, etc were all in good shape and worked properly. The OMG... 2 kids 2 adults... each take 4 to 5 minute showers. You guessed it! Most days only enough Hot water for 2 to 2.5 showers. Oddly, water pressure was good) but if you turn on the cold water, it was so cold you'd freeze, literally, even when the hot was on full blast. Yes owners are nice and attentive but our cabin is a hodge podge patchwork of broken, worn out, poorly installed DIY, and some just plain missing items (some cabinet doors) Kitchen floor sloped a LOT It was annoying every time you walked on the slanted floor. Sofa Bed sagged, 80% of it. The "solution" is in the photos. Yeah, hey... I get it, a $100 sofa set from Big Lots will do that... so leave those to the college kids and get a decent quality set for your full time rental! Kitchen counter was screwed together -- sitting on top of the free cabinets ok, not all cabinets 'need' doors I know, not a huge deal, but it was obvious these cabinets had them and were freebies since under the sink were two end cabinets, not a single sink cabinet and you removed the drawer and screwed the drawer front on... classy! Tile work in the tiny shower... stop, please... you are not good at that, and you tried to be fancy... wow, no - just no! Shower valves... nice job letting water get into the wall without handle covers over the tile... I'm assuming more freebies and didnt want to spend money so ... holes in the wall, no problem Bathroom Fan/Light... WOW, this is LOUD... it vibrated the entire room, not kidding. The only other light was above the sink and the switch was not in reach from the door, no matter how tall you are. made finding it at night difficult. They need to separate the light and the humidity fan to 2 separate switches... oh, and make it so the fan doesnt sound/feel like the space shuttle is lifting off Bedroom... bed was comfortable, no issues there. But the bed took up the entire room, literally... only about 20" of space on any side... and you could not even open up a carry on on the floor except at the foot of the bed... then you are stepping over your luggage constantly.

The xc skiing at Devil's Thumb has always been a favorite for us, as far back as the 70's when it was just a rustic ski trail system with a small nordic supply shop. In recent years it became a full fledged resort with lodging where we have often stayed. We have also stayed in Winter Park, about 15 minutes away and driven over to ski. But we have now found our new favorite option. This is such a lovely place, both the facility and the charming staff. It is a better price value for us than some of the other options in the area, yet more than a simple motel in town. You know, like Goldilocks, "just right." I especially want to note that the (included) breakfast that host John cooks for the guests was wonderful, some sweet, some savory, warm, homemade, natural and ample for the start of even an hearty ski day. They take note in advance of special food needs and serve with a choice of time options. The log style of the building is rustic but nicely furnished. The rooms are well designed and furnished with high quality linens and have lots of storage as some guests stay for weeks. The views from each room are very pretty, some to the Continental Divide, some to the woodland. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The central lounge area was large, comfortable, attractive and clean and with a central fireplace. There are also some other smaller gathering areas to sit and talk or read if you wish to be outside your room. And there are also some family and dog friendly cabins on site if you want more than a bedroom. Personally, the rooms in the main inn are just right for my needs. We will absolutely be back. It is convenient to local xc skiing and also just a 15 minute drive past the Winter Park Resort and not far at all from several quality dinner options. We met other guests using the lodging for all of these reasons.
