I wish I could give them less than one star. I thought I would plan a really nice family christmas…read moreweek there so I started early with reserving the condo in AUG 2025. It was very expensive $4797.59 for 4 nights. Since Winter Park collected monies for the trip insurance for Spot, and I was SPECIFICALLY TOLD ON AUG 24 2025 on the phone while booking my christmas reservation that "the trip including insurance was FULLY REFUNDABLE" prior to 22 days before arrival. I recieved an email yesterday 9-4-25 from SPOT which I assumed at first glance was junk marketing. I then noticed it said action needed. I was confused by this and called Winter Park. It was very confusing because I assumed everything was good since I specifically asked for trip ins to be put on the trip. I filled in names of the travelers online and thought it was all good. It seems QUITE DECEIVING on the part of WP to collect over $317 and NOT add the actual ins for each person to the trip? This is SENSELESS! It is NOT THE CUSTOMER who contracted a 3rd party, and I did not pay the 3rd party. I paid Winter Park for trip coverage. Winter Park sends so many marketing emails that anyone who reserves might miss the SMALL PRINT or an email. Since the scheduled trip is months away, it seems as though this is an opportunity to RIP OFF people who reserve and buy trip insurance and then find out on DAY 11, that they somehow did not correctly complete creating an account with SPOT to add names of travelers. It was UNCLEAR since I paid $317 to WINTER PARK for insurance, that you must take time to go create an account with their 3rd party SPOT. This is absurd, senseless and time consuming. WInter Park should have sent a warning email (reminding customers to add travelers if not done) but even more so, WINTER PARK SHOULD ADD THE TRAVELERS AT THE RESERVATION and this could have been avoided. I may have then kept all 5 of my reserved stays (each with trip ins) and totaling well above $10K. Instead I called and canceled each one. This experience with them was SO BAD that I canceled ALL future reserved stays and I am writing this to warn future possible customers. When I first called Winter Park on DAY 11 after booking DEC to explain that I just then received an email from SPOT and was totally confused, they pushed it off and told me to contact SPOT. SPOT told me to contact Winter Park and back and forth it went. They both REFUSED to refund the $317. This policy is UNFAIR, UNCLEAR given the timing of the future trip. They've lost me as a customer forever, and just to be clear from this point going forward, I will return to EPIC for skiing. If you do ski winter park, I suggest looking into several other alternatives for lodging. There are many other BETTER options, and they do have more fair policies on cancellations.

I enjoyed being in Center Village as it was close to food, entertainment, and of course skiing. The condo was clean and well stocked (friends stayed in another building with a different vendor and they did not have nearly the items we had). I rent my home at Topsail Beach NC so I understand the importance of a well stocked home. Working with The Lark Mountain Group was easy. They provided very specific instructions and I knew exactly what I needed to do and when. I had no issues so I did not have to reach out. I would book with Lark Mountain Group again.

A little backstory: On May 27, 2024, I made a reservation through Airbnb to stay at Lisa's condo in February 2025. The cancellation policy required a 50% fee should the reservation be canceled at least 30 days before arrival. I paid in full when I made the reservation. Three days after the I made the reservation, I had to cancel it due to some unforeseen circumstance. I contacted Lisa and explained my situation. She could have easily stuck with the cancellation policy and charged me 50% of the total. However, she agreed to waive the fee and did so promptly. Lisa was generous and I wanted to give a shout out to her. Thank you so much, Lisa.

As we were getting in the car to head up to the cabin we received a phone call from Angela, the property manager. She informed us that the cabin was not available due to the heating system not working and wanted to reschedule us with another cabin. The cabin she chose was a major downgrade from the cabin we were promised, and I let her know as much when we arrived there. I wanted a cabin that had the same basic amenities as The Claim, but it was difficult getting her to help us, so we eventually settled on a place that had no coffee table, no end tables, was much smaller than The Claim with bathrooms that had a bad odor and side door that was wide open when we arrived. We decided to only spend the one night and leave the following day. When I wrapped things up with Angela as we were about to leave, I told her this was a very disappointing experience, that we had learned our lesson working with Second Home, and her response was, "sounds good". My takeaway from this experience, much like the experience when we rented Grandpa's Cabin and the damage done to our car due to negligence with the driveway, is that Angela is god awful at her job. She has all the people's skills of a malfunctioning robot, talking when she should be listening and vice versa. She has no empathy, sympathy, or even an ounce of warmth, her mission is to stay out the messy business of human affairs. We really needed help and she either refused, dragged her feet, or just plain did not care.

The house is located near the Pole Creek golf course, and the views of Sheep Mountain in Indian Peeks were breathtaking. We found everything as described on the website and the check in process went smoothly. The house was very clean and spacious and we loved the rustic decor. The kitchen was fully equipped and allowed us to prepare all of our meals. We also enjoyed using the hot tub which was a great way to relax after a day on the course. Overall, we had a great experience with Winter Park Escapes and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable and scenic vacation rental. The only issue was the dishwasher did not work and caused a leak.

Upon arrival, we found five toilets stored in the garage, blocking one side. The next day, a delivery driver brought a sixth toilet and left it there, saying the owner had instructed him to do so. This happened while my elderly father, who has Alzheimer's, was present for the holiday weekend. Safety and comfort issues: * A broken screen on the lower level let many bugs into the house on our last night. We had to move a card game upstairs because we couldn't use the poker table because of the bugs everywhere. * The upstairs deck lacks shades or blinds on the west-facing glass doors, making it unusable in the afternoon sun. In contrast, the ground floor has shades. * The provided pots and pans were of poor quality and did not heat evenly. During our stay, my truck, parked in the garage and driven only once, had a slashed tire that went completely flat. I requested a review of camera footage but received no resolution. Despite paying an early check-in fee and requesting a late checkout, my concerns were met with automated responses. When I reported the tire damage and broken screen, the property management company referenced the listing's 4.96-star rating and said, "Not every property will be the right fit for every traveler." They closed the conversation without addressing my concerns and directed further disputes to Airbnb Support. This property was advertised as a luxury escape, but our experience was marred by maintenance and storage issues, unresolved vehicle damage, and a lack of meaningful resolution from the host team. I would not stay here again and highly recommend avoiding this property or any managed by Winter Park Escapes. After I worked with Airbnb support, which was great, we found a solution with zero help from Winter Park Escapes, as repeatedly requested by Airbnb Support. I tried to leave this review, but it looks like Winter Park Escapes changed the email address, preventing me from leaving one. The 4.96 stars seem fake, as I am sure others have experienced the same lack of respect and action by Winter Park Escapes. It seems to be a property company that's only interested in ripping people off.
