This company is a scam and please don't trust them. they only misdiagnose the problem and then they tell you a "Licensed Plumber" didn't do the right job so they tell you that they can. After wanting to charge you $$$$$. They are a scam. There must be some honest ones out there who don't put their interest above others. A simple drainage problem which now my "Licensed Plumber" came and fixed under $100, was going to be a huge deal by the Rescue Rooter guy. read more

Today he filled in the hole and found that Rescue Rooter had broken off branches from our fig tree and used wood we were saving to rebuild our deck to hold a tarp over the hole, without asking permission. I called Rescue Rooter last night around 7:45 because my kitchen sink was clogged and backing up into the sink in the bathroom that shares a wall and plumbing with the kitchen. It took nearly an hour for the dispatcher to call me back to tell me when the repair person would be arriving. I was told he would be here in 50 minutes. He arrived over an hour later. By this time it was past 9:30 pm. He was here for at least 30 minutes looking over the situation (we had already removed and cleaned out all the P-traps) and told me: 1. I have galvanized pipes. They are old (the house was built in the 40s). I would probably need to re-plumb the whole house and it would cost around $15,000! 2. He could try to cable out the blockage, but he said there was less than a 50/50 chance he could get his cable into the area where the clog was. 3. Whether he was able to clear the blockage or not, if he attempted it, I would still have to pay the full fee of $295! I told him I didn't want his services and then I called Raymark in the morning. The dispatcher called me back within about 15 minutes. They had someone out here early afternoon and 35 minutes after arriving, the clog was cleared, everything was cleaned up and it cost $155 + tax! Even one star is too many for this company and my experience last night! Enough said?! read more

I phoned the company today, and within 2 hours Musa K showed up, ready to work. He listened to my many issues that needed addressing which included a leaky coil behind the fridge, installation of a water shut off valve behind fridge (wanted one installed,) Slow draining tub upstairs, noisy toilet downstairs. Musa was extremely pleasant, answered all my questions, and when he was short one item on his truck-telephoned a fellow worker who dropped the item off within 30 minutes. After all work was completed, he took the time to ensure I understood all that was done, inquired if I had any additional questions, and ensured everything was cleaned up to my satisfaction. I am very pleased with the service today, and have used Rescue Rooter serval times in the past and would recommend their services to others. read more

Run don't walk. I had a drain problem in one sink. They handled this well but then told me I had an urgent sewer line problem. The salesman that came out told me that it needed to be jetted and that I was likely to have sever back up at any moment. Estimate was for $5015.00. I called some other companies and found out that jetting isn't recommended for my problem( root ball) and that normal clean out would handle. I paid less than $300 and the problem is handled. This is one of the worst companies I have ever encountered. I tend to be pretty trusting and so I did not even check Yelp - next time I will because my story is repeated here over and over. Their business model seems to be to be very available for fast service on a seemingly untenable problem - in our case a kitchen sink drain stoppage. We used them in 2014 and they came right over and ran a snake down then charged me $290. Then + $132 for a one year warantee (although the labor is only 90 days according to the paperwork). I was not paying very much attention at the time, but that is what the paperwork I later found says. The second part of their business model came up when I called them 10 months later. They told me my warrantee was expired, but that they would send someone right over. Looking at the 2014 paperwork I later found, this appears to be outright fraud. They sent a guy over who seemed to have a lot of trouble and needed back-up so a second truck came. I was not watching him work, but I doubt that would have made much difference to what transpired. He put a long, electric snake down, made a lot of noise, and claimed he could not clear it. They then proceeded to try to ascertain where the clog was using some sort of fancy locating device and could never find the end of their equipment, but then decided that I needed $6000 worth of work to tear up the concrete driveway, dig down, open up the line then pressure blast - no guarantee that it would work however. Naturally, they could get right on it the next day and please sign here..... Luckily that price tag was enough to make me take more stock this time. I called Fritz plumbing - all they do is snaking so NO incentive to upcharge, use them! I did have to wait a couple days, but it was well worth it as two nicely dressed and mannered young men showed up on time, got a 25 foot snake (non-electric) and proceeded to clear it in about 10 minutes, charged me $145 and were on their way! Do not use Rescue Rooter, they are either incompetent, or more likely dishonest and the worst is we found out they had done the sewer work on the home when it belonged to the previous owner who ended up foreclosing on the home because of plumbing work (which we found when we bought it was shoddy and had to be redone for $18,000)! I don't know how they can sleep at night honestly! read more

Unfortunately, I too have been scammed by this company. I guess I failed to read these previous reviews from people. In hopes that other people do not fall for this company's tactics, I would like to write about my case. We recently have been having clogs in our sewer line and called RR for a free estimate. A rep came out and then put a camera down and sure enough found a clog and then wanted to charge me for sticking a chain down the line to unclog the plug up, which I agreed on. They were of course unsuccessful. He also mentioned that if they have to blow it out, it would cost $1200. Then after trying the chain and being unsuccessful, they claimed that the break in the line was so bad that they needed to dig down and repair the pipe. I was intending to pay these guys to dig down and repair the line and blow a liner through my whole system for a very high price. But when they got down there, they claimed the break was actually in the roadway and now would cost another $12k on top of what I've already signed up for. This company tends to hold you hostage for having a sewer line down and expects the home owner to pay a shit load money to repair it. I ended up getting several other estimates and found that they were all half the price of what they were asking. I ended up signing up another contractor to finish the work. In the end, I ended up paying $10k to RR for something I or another company could have done for $2k and my clog was still not repaired. This guys are terrible and no one should do business with them. Don't use this company. I had used them in the past and was happy with their work. Had some very expensive work done on my parents house ($12,000) and later found they charged us about double what it should of cost. They left an old pipe leaking instead of fixing it, called them out and they wanted another $500 to fix it. Called First Choice Plumbing and he fixed it for $150 and was skilled and very nice to work with. I will never use this company again and if you value your money you won't either! read more

He did a great job of telling me the options for repair and had all the tools necessary to replace the parts. Don't trust this company. I called them after trying to snake my main drain line. They sent out a guy who tried the exact same thing I had done and said it didn't work but charged me $400 for it. Then they said if they hydro jet for another $800 it will fix the problem 99 % of the time. They were unsuccessful at even getting the hydro jet to the clog and gave up still charging me the full amount. Every time I stopped by to check on the progress they would be sitting in their truck with the AC not doing anything. They then told me for another $8000 they could dig up the line and add a clean out so they could jet it probably. I said I would install the clean out myself if they would come back and jet it for free since they charged me $1,200 for doing nothing. They agreed. I dug up the pipe fixed the problem and installed the cleanout myself in 5 hours and it only cost me $600 including parts and excavator rental. When I called to have them come back for the hydro jet they said it would be another. $500! Total scam artist and completely worthless. Don't trust these crooks. read more

Three months ago I called Rescue Rooter for a leaking pipe in my kitchen. It took them all day to fix it and they GOUGED ME on the price. I was charged twice as much as the going rate. TODAY, I had an issue with my drain line (clog). This time I called Roto-Rooter instead. The technician was on time and very experienced. It took him one hour to fix everything. I was charged a very fair price by Roto-Rooter. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Stay away from Rescue Rooter. Wow! After years and years using them as my plumber I guess I will be a little better consumer next time. I had a Water Pressure Reducing Valve fail on me. They responded and installed a new one for $768.82. This is the same valve they replaced less than four years ago. I called about the cost of the valve itself and they told me they do not share that information. They bid the job and do not provide detailed information. Research tells me the cost of the Watts X65B Water Pressure Reducing Valve valve is in the area of $62.00. That means labor charges of $700.00. I realize the price of a plumber is costly and there is travel expenses and etc. but just seems to me a little stiff on the bottom line. Chad Bolt was outstanding with his performance, knowledge, and was extremely helpful. Whilst he consistently acted in a professional manner, he also constantly showed the up-most respect to me and my mom. Chad was more then happy to answer all of our questions and deal with us being annoying when we didn't understand certain things. He explained all of our questions until we understood them, and he was more then happy to do so. He gave us options, he tried to get the prices down as much as he could, unfortunately Rescue Rooter has their standard prices, which are ridiculously high. However, the employee I received, Chad Bolt was startling impressive. Upon leaving, I went to give him a tip, and he kindly refused, saying "I don't do this for tips, I do this job to help people." Chad Bolt is the only technician I will use from Rescue Rooter ever again. I recommended everyone who uses Rescue Rooter to ask for him. He's outstanding. read more

My service technician was Steve Crumly. He repaired/replaced a shut-off valve to an outdoor faucet and in also repaired another exterior faucet and pipe that had broken due to freezing. He showed up just before 11am (I was told between 11:00 and 3:00) and worked all day to make the repairs. He was very professional, explaining everything to me, pros and cons and the type of materials he would be using. He cleaned up everything after the work was completed. I enjoyed talking with him and felt comfortable asking questions. I will request him in the future when I need additional work done. read more

I would like to share my experience with Rescue Rooter. If you have a plumbing issue DO NOT use Rescue Rooter, find a local plumber in your city that does honest work. This company is only after money, money and more money. We had a back up occur in our basement bathroom at 2:00 am, my husband called Rescue Rooter to come out and fix the issue. They got it unclogged and proceeded to tell us the issue, is that we needed a clean out installed, and they would be out in the morning to install it. The video they have recorded shows a crack in the pipe and Rescue Rooter can be heard on audio showing and acknowledging the cracked pipe. They installed the clean out for 5700.00, and 2 weeks later the bathroom backed up again, they came out and removed the clog, and another 2 weeks goes by and another backup, again they came out and unclogged it. Then another 2 weeks after that again a backup, they would come out and unclog it for 300.00, we declined and did it ourselves. The backups continued to happen. I emailed Rescue Rooter and questioned them about the work they did, and the response I received was, Are you not satisfied with our installation? Obviously! the problem continued and wasn't addressed, we had several other companies come out and look at the issue, it was the crack in the pipe that was there originally that they connected to the new pipe. The other issue was that they had not installed the clean out correctly the first time (as another company pointed that out) Rescue Rooter came out and installed the cleanout again. We asked them if they would just go ahead and fix the crack that was there from the beginning, they would for another 3700.00. The bottom line is they are looking for ways to get as much money as possible, they said our pipes are bad and would need a perma liner for 10,000.00, we declined. The problem is now fixed by an honest company and charged only 550.00 to fix the original problem of the crack and replaced our whole pipe from the house to where the crack was. Be sure to do your research on companies before having anything done to your plumbing. Do not use Rescue Rooter!!!!!! read more

Our condo building had major plumbing problems which came to our attention via a fast leak in the garage ceiling which is under four stories and building drainage rising into someone's bathtub. We called RR at about 10:30 at night and they arrived quickly. They isolated the two completely different problems, gave us a price which was fair and went to work. It took them longer to fix than expected because of the complexity of the problems but didn't ask for more and in fact did some extra work for free. They were very good with the condo owners who had to put up with lots of interruptions. read more

I discovered a pinhole leak in our 1-inch copper water main around midnight last night at our 30-yr old restaurant in MILTON, WA, while I was doing other maintenance. The leak was up above the ceiling, 1/2-inch below an original copper tee & a few inches above a previously installed SharkBite/PEX repair. I called a "24hr plumber", but they had no one available until 9-11am. I called another "24hr plumber" at 12:56am who said dispatch would call me shortly. At 1:56am, I called this 2nd company back & learned they were "still looking" for a plumber for me. At 2:04am I called ARS Rescue Rooter & Brian said they should have someone there in about an hour. At 3am, Tim arrived. After attempting a low cost repair, Tim realized he was going to have to replace 2 original copper tees & tie them from the 1-inch water main to 2 3/4-inch lines & 1 1/2-inch line. He used PEX and triple checked his work, cleaning up as he went. The restaurant opened on time. It was a long night for myself, but I'm thankful I was there to discover it when I did. Though it is very helpful that they can answer to emergencies fast (took them 2 hours to get to my house) this is such a scam. So overpriced for what they do, DO NOT get a camera put down your pipes for an extra charge. I have a root problem in my pipeline and when getting another plumber to come out they make their video footage completely useless to any other plumber. Strategy? Bullshit. I called to get a rough quote to just router my drain line outside via the clean out. They couldn't give me quote via phone, so sent someone out for a free estimate. What a waste of my time. They quoted $385. which is an absolute rip off. Another plumber had quoted me $250. and I turned that down too. Went out and rented a 100' electric snake and had the drain cleared in 20 minutes by myself for $60.00. I had to use this company due to contractual obligations through my homeowners insurance, who contracts with Rescue Rooter for plumbing problems. We had to call Rescue Rooter on a Sunday for a problem with out toilet, They responded within the hour and resolved the problem. However, we were told that we would need additional work to correct the situation completely. Rueben came out and gave us two bids, one for "short term" and one for " long term". After looking over the initial bill, which we had paid, I found several charges that seemed totally out of the ordinary. Needless to say I was upset, but thought a phone call would resolve the problem. Happily, I finally spoke to Martin and he immediately reversed some of the questionable charges. I was very pleased with the result and also when I asked for a written estimate for the possible future work that needed to be done, he assured me that we would receive the estimate in a few days. Dishonest!!! Rescue Rooter, Seattle- not Pacific, WA My kitchen sink was backing up and floor drain in our basement was seeping slow. I called Rescue Rooter and they came. The guy went to our clean out opening which is in our yard. He tried to clear it with his snake but after a few minutes he told me that the snake is stuck and he can't pull it out. He needed to call his supervisor. He waited and his supervisor finally came after almost an hour. They were outside for about 30 minutes and then they came in to my house and told me that I have a huge problem. The supervisor who was doing most of the talking told me that we have a broken pipe and with an older house like ours, it is common. He said it was going to cost around $18,000.00 but because we're homeowners, they can finance it and it will only take 10 minutes over the phone for approval and can start working in the morning. They have to dig 9 feet down and 5 ft wide on the street to get to the pipe. I asked to view the video and the supervisor told me it is too dark and I will not be able to see much. I wasn't able to sleep that night and something tells me to check them out. I went on Yelp and saw the same story and experience by someone else with the company. I called Metropolitan sewer. They came and looked at the clean out and it was clogged as it was filled with water and around it. He took his snake and snaked the pipe, water started going. He then put the camera in. I watched the video while the camera was going in the pipe. It shows the pipe all the way to the city's pipe and there was no break!!!! It took less than 30 minutes for the whole job. I can't believe I almost got ripped off by Rescue Rooter!! My husband called Rescue Rooter and told the owner the event. The owner/boss can't believe it but offered a refund. I also called because I was just going to stop pay the check and the owner agreed. It's too bad because I have been doing business with them for several years. I have estimate from Rescue Rooter to prove it and have video from Metropolitan Sewer that I don't have a broken pipe. Watch out!! read more

They did a spectacular job for my clogged drain that was backing up into the shower. Dave arrived at the house within 1 hour of my call. He was resourceful in deciding how to fix the problem. Dave went above and beyond the call of duty, digging in the yard to find my clean-out that wasn't really "accessible" at no extra charge. He also made some good recommendations for future prevention strategies. They honored a special web rate that I probably didn't qualify for so the price was very reasonable. We recommended this company to a client of ours, to give an estimate for installing some fixtures. The plumber they sent out was in the house for 2 hours, looking not only at the job he had been called out for, but to see if there was anything else that needed to be done. He told our client she needed to replace her garbage disposal, which is working fine, because it has "marks on it"! As he was leaving, he ran over the neighbor's flowers. I join the chorus in warning anyone needing drain services away from this company. I called them to rooter our sewer line as it had been about 4 years since the last rooter and while we did not have a blockage I was exercising an ounce of prevention. I was in the midst of a remodel so I had removed a toilet for them to access the sewer which they said they would replace when completed and which they put into their quote. But what should have tipped me that this wouldn't be just a regular drain rooting but an attempt at reaming a home owner was the gang of two workers approach with one of them looking as though he had not worked a day in his life at anything manual. This was the salesman who showed me a video of our sewer line and a serious break in it. Having had the line scoped 4 years prior, I doubted that this was in fact our line in large part because there is a dip in our side sewer prior to the break they claimed to have found and which they hadn't seemed to pick up on. I told them to pick up their gear, get their check and leave the house. They did that but had not replaced the toilet, nor cleaned up the work site. I PITY THE POOR INEXPERIENCED HOME OWNER OR OLD WOMAN/MAN WHO IS SUCKED IN BY THIS TRULY TERRIBLE AND DISHONEST SERVICE, AND THEN RIPPED OFF. HOW CAN THESE PEOPLE LIVE WITH THEMSELVES, AND WHY AREN'T COMPANIES SUCH AS THIS CLOSED DOWN? read more

Understand that they work as "team" to scare the customer (who are usually under pressure and stress) into agreeing to work and expense that is not necessary - or at least overpriced. I called these guys to come out and unclog a drain. They arrived within their 2-hour window and TV'd the line. Upon arrival, the technician quoted me $326 to fix the problem. I indicated this was a lot more than the $89 advertised on their website and he relented. They did a good job unclogging the drain but cracked the pipe for the P-trap when reassembling it. He noted the P-trap had a crack in it and offered to repair it for $49. Fortunately for me, I had tested it earlier in the day after I had reassembled it and it had worked fine with no leaks. After informing the technician of this, he agreed to replace the broken pipe at no cost. I am sure if I had not been there, we would have paid $400 instead of the $96 we paid. IMO, be very careful. These guys will take your money if given any sort of opportunity. I would not use them again. read more

Don't waste your money with Rescue Rooter! One of their plumbers came to my house to look at a disposer that hasn't been working properly (the drains keep clogging, so clearly it's not grinding properly). The plumber who came was quite arrogant. I opened the door and he said "what can I do for you?" Barely a hello. He took a quick look at the disposer and insisted it was working properly and the clog was occuring because of the way the drains were installed. That might be true, but doesn't explain why we had never had a problem and then suddenly had two clogs in 1 week! He also rattled off a whole list of things that one shouldn't put down a disposer (rice, vegetable peels, meat, ...) which led me to ask what one can put down the disposer. He then suggested that I just not use it and said that he had removed his. He went on to say that most plumbers don't like disposers because they're bad for the plumbing. And this is the guy they sent to "repair" my disposer?? Anyway, he ended up not doing anything because he said the disposer was working and no additional service would be covered by my home warranty. When I pressed him on whether the disposer was really working properly, he said, "Well it turns on and off." This guy irritated me to no end and I was just glad the service was covered by the home warranty provided when I purchased my house. Had I paid out of pocket for this horrendous service, I would have been really angry. I'd suggest staying away from Rescue Rooter and finding someone else. read more

These guys are terrible they prey on home owners who don't know they are being taken advantage of. Fortunately for me I am a contractor and smelled the con from a mile away. If I could give zero stars I would. I called with an EXTREMELY simple request and even that proves to be an opportunity for these scam artists to get over. I stated that I had already had a plumber out who snaked my drain 75 ft. And that I needed them to come with a 150' snake to clear the entire length of my very straight drain line out to the street. I was still at work when he arrived my wife signed a contract to start the very clearly specified work. When I arrived he was no snaking but using a camera on my drain and told me he didn't have a 150' camera or a 150' snake. I asked why he came at all ? Then they had the nerve to try to charge me $200 for doing nothing at all but waste my wife and I both some time. Not before trying to con us into a $900 water jetting which I found out most other plumbing companies only charge $300-$500 for. I then called a WAAAAAAAAY BETTER plumbing company called Jim Dandy who came within an hour with a 200' camera and 300' snake cleared and inspected my drain for less$ than these rip off artists charged to do nothing at all. Okay...no stars. I am too late a Yelp convert. Granddaughter wrote a review when I felt scammed to the tune of $20,000 to put a sleeve in sewer line to the street. Company manager called her and then me. There had been some miscalls and miscalculations...would adjust it by $4000 which on more than one occasion since...I have learned that is what it should have cost me. I'm old ... trusting... I'd had an extremely stressful week....water backed up in the tub in the basement. Called the first name on the list when I googled. They said they had given me the opportunity to get other bids...toilet removed and tree roots on their snake....didn't seem an option to me at the time. They did it all completely legally...covering their butts at every turn....it was a carefully laid out STING and I got stung. Wanted to just get it behind me and move on but can't just be quiet as there others out there who an extra $12,000 would devastate. They had problems trying to locate our sewer line, started to dig in area that we were told was where our sewer line is, they ended up breaking a shared sewer line with the back hoe and tried to tell us that the shared sewer pipe is actually our sewer pipe from our house, even though it runs the opposite direction, size is larger than a homes sewer pipe and we have a utility/shared sewer easement at the back of our property that we told them about and is noted on city maps...During the process the hole kept filling with sewage and we asked how that could be if we have not been using anything in our house, obviously the sewage is coming from homes upstream and the pipe they are working on is not ours but a shared pipe....still they were instant that the pipe was our sewer pipe. Also when they removed the sewage from the hole, it was dumped all over our back yard and started to run into neighbors yards, we told them they need to be careful where they put the stuff, cant be letting it run onto other peoples property .....We now are working with our neighbors that are also serviced by the shared sewer pipe to get a collapsed clay pipe replaced to fix the mess...we have had other people out to look at the issue and they are dumbfounded by the work that was done........ read more
