There are many reasons why replay'd is my favorite game store of all time. *Good prices. Not too expensive. *Good customer service. *Easy to find. *Fair trade-In values (considering that they are a business that needs to resell games) But the biggest reason? When I went in today, they had mega man 1,4,5,6 (the rarest ones), earthbound, cib pokemon games, and all of the rare stuff. I bought mega man 4 from them for a good price, and now my collection of 1-6 is complete. I'm not going to lie to you, I live 1 hour and 30 minutes away. But it's worth going here if you are in the area. Their selection is amazing; I have never left empty handed. read more

Brought in a xbox 360 wireless controller to get both joysticks replaced due to them being faulty. I was told they can be replaced within a few days. I paid in advance and came to get my controller after a week and was told its been repaired. When I got home and tested my controller the joysticks were left untouched. I have had a Samsung Galaxy S6 for a little over a year and the home and power buttons randomly stopped working. When I went in for a consultation twice (I wasn't prepared to drop off my phone the first time), both the repair person as well as the people at the front desk 1. explained the process to me step by step 2. was clear about the cost 3. accurately gave me an estimation of how long it would take them to fix it and 4. told me they would contact me if anything we discussed changed. After picking up my phone on time, they told me that because they just needed to clean the phone (there was "goo" inside that was causing the button issue) there would be no charge because they didn't really have to "fix" anything and was deemed a consultation. WHO DOESN'T CHARGE PEOPLE FOR EVEN A CONSULTATION! I WAS BEYOND SHOCKED AND ECSTATIC since I was ready to buy a new phone! Whatever they were going to charge me for the repair was reasonable which is why I decided to go with them initially, but then the customer service aspect was just the icing on the cake. In addition, there was a constant stream of people coming in for all reasons, so apparently it's in the know and I was just late to the party. I have been going to Replay'd once a month since I moved to the Boston area last year. The selection is always good, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful too! I have found new games that I did not expect to find or even try. Add in the student discount for area schools and this just gets better! Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for older games, but do not go if you own a current gen console as the selection is pretty low at the moment. But for any past console, you will not be dissapointed! read more

Tip 1: Ask for Dylan. Son & I were trolling fir a used, reasonably priced iPhone 6. Dylan answered phone and was enthusiastic. We stopped in, he showed us what they had, and together we made a selection. He removed sim card from my son's older iPhone 5 and started up the new 6. He showed us, after a database search, that the newer model had a clean IMEA, and answered all our questions. Another associate at the counter was answering questions enthusiastically as well. I felt the need to write my first review on Replayd for two reasons. Reason one is their prices are much lower than anywhere else I've been. Their electronics are pristine (bought an iPhone 5 from them a few months ago and no problems) and they have tons of vintage games. Where else can you see a case of N64 games? Second reason comes in the form of a story. I'm a somewhat regular customer at Replayd and the staff has always been nice to me. Standing in line a few days ago, a preppy young man walked in and wanted to sell an iPad and something else. He spoke to a staff member when he suddenly begins putting his hands in the staff's face talking about how he was quoted some amount of money over the phone and that he drove his Mercedes all the way across town. First, why do you need to mention what car you drive? Second, prices change so deal with it. I think the staff member quoted him $20 less. He starts yelling for the manager who walks over and pretty much just tells him that he's yelling and obviously angry and that he can't do anything about it and they're an independent business and don't have the cash right then to buy his shit anyway. The guy continues to freak out and myself as well as the other customers began laughing. Any store that doesn't treat self-centered assholes like they run the world deserves my respect and will continue to get my patronage. read more

I went to Replay'd hoping that they'd be able to fix a scratched DVD. I walked in, paid the couple of dollars, and walked out in 10 minutes with a cleaned disc. I took it home, and it was cured - no skipping, freezing, or stalling of my show! Friendly service, clean store. read more

A no star according to me.. I went there to get the LCD replaced on my HTC Inspire 4G. It's very cost effective, but the service is terrible, and to add to it they messed up my cell. The replaced the LCD but the cell wouldn't read the SIM card. So I gave the cell back to them. Rather than fixing the problem they created, they got into a verbal spat saying that the cell was broken when I got it to them. HELL YEAH!! I made few calls in front of them before handing it over to them.. it was working perfectly fine. So they finally keep the cell saying they would try and get that fixed. The next day I get the phone.. it reads the SIM Card.. but the network keeps disconnecting.. I don't know how do they manage to mess other things while fixing one.. I don't even feel like going back to them asking to get that fixed.. To top it.. they even misplaced the SD card inside.. Overall, terrible service with no guarantee to resolve the issue, let alone creating new ones. read more

Great place to get a used phone. I bought two phones from here including the iPhone 4S that I now have and both worked well. The iPhone is much better though and was in brand new condition. The draw back that I had with this place was when I needed service on a phone before I bought the used phones. Took them forever to fix the phone and their techs seemed to not care about how long it was taking them to fix my phone. The people upfront are attentive techie kids, great attitudes, although they can be a little weird/alternative for me (weird hair color and hair styles etc.) One really nice guy who helped me had visible old razor cuts all over his forearm, a little unsettling but he was really nice and knowledgable. I really like the phones and the year warranty on the phones as well. They also have a lot of other electronics and video games so go in and check them out. read more

I had read really good things about Replay'd and decided to take my broken PS3 to them before trying to deal with Sony directly. They were unable to fix it or tell me what was wrong. They provide a vague answer "you have a mother board." To be clear I did not have the Yellow Circle of Death, which they do advertise being able to fix for $50. There was a game in the console and they wanted $10 to get it out. They also tried to sell me a used PS3 for $180 or $220, when you can buy a new one at Best Buy $249. When I got home discouraged, I decided to call Sony. For $99 (plus tax) they said they would fix the problem and if they couldn't fix it they would replace it with a reconditioned PS3. This included all the shipping, etc. If it was under warranty still they could replace it for free! Sadly it was not. The amazing rep on the phone also walked me though how to get the game out manual without having to open up the unit, so much for charging me $10 Replay'd. While Replay'd does have a lot of cool old games, they service is terrible and they will try to rip you off!! read more

I bought a phone from Replay'd and had a good experience with the two salesmen that helped me. Then the next day when I discovered I could not access the internet from the phone I called them back for help. They informed me that I could bring the phone back to exchange. When I started asking them about the other available phones I was told "We dont have time to do a sales pitch". Unfortunately, I was going out of town and did not have time to drive over to Allston in vain. I feel I was treated RUDELY, but over all my experience wasn't bad. They have a good selection of electronics and seemingly knowledgeable sales clerks, just not ones available to assist over the phone. read more

I actually purchased a PS2 online adapter from their eBay store. Googling "replaydonline ripoff" brought me here. Gotta love the information age. I registered just to leave this review after seeing other horror stories regarding the complete lack of service and professionalism. Anyways, to the point: I was completely ripped off. Seeing the reviews here paints a complete picture of the crass, inept oxygen thief I had limited dealings with through eBay's PM system. I received a broken adapter from them (they probably did another fail in-house refurb job on it). Having never owned an adapter, I thought that maybe my PS2 system was to blame for it not working (broken port or whatever). On a lark, I found another adapter, for even less money, and bought it. Well, the 2nd adapter worked perfectly (and it had the exact same serial number..). So, that meant the one I received from this company was broken. So after reaching out and waiting DAYS for a response, the seller says to return for full refund. "Oh great, I get to be burned for 1/4 the item price just to ship broken junk back". The seller lied and said they'd "try" to get me extra for shipping, even though eBay doesn't officially support such. So I shipped it back, losing an additional $3.22, and waited....and waited. I wrote again, "Did you get it back, where's my refund. etc". They told me they hadn't received it yet. This was after a solid week, and the receipt said it'd take 3 days to get there. Opened a case, eBay can't do anything because I didn't lose an additional dollar for a stupid tracking number. But I have a receipt, and I sent the damn thing back. :/ Never left a negative feedback in 60 transactions. Sellers always did everything they could if something went wrong *on their end*. Hell, most sellers wouldn't ask to have broken garbage returned at buyer's expense! That just isn't good business, plain and simple! The word needs to get out on these clowns. If you can buy something and it works, go for it. But if they sell you in-house refurb'd JUNK, good luck getting your money back. From the looks of some reviews here, it seems they have a culture of not giving a shit about their screwups and simply play the odds to remain afloat. VERY POOR SERVICE! Me and my boyfriend went to this place last friday around 2pm and we were treated with such poor service. Both the girl and guy who were running the place decided to continuously wait on others, and those who had a brighter skin color got fast service while they blew us off. After 35 minutes of being in the store, we still spent money but were told many of the games we wanted to purchase were incompatible with the game piece we bought to the store and that WASN'T TRUE. The sales representative just wanted to wait on others and it was awful we had to waste gas and spend any type of $$ in this store. Where do I begin? I work in the city and don't get back to my vehicle, which is about 25 minutes away from Replay'd, until about 6 o'clock, so I had to rush if I was going to get to Replay'd before 6:30 when they "stop buying" as I was told on the phone. I was quoted $350 for the mint condition iPad 3 and $65 for the mint condition Nexus 7. Excited to trade in my iPad and Nexus 7 to upgrade to the iPad Air this Friday and quite pleased with the prices quoted over the phone, I drove hurriedly, arriving at Replay'd at 6:26 thanks to the WAZE app. I parked in the Walgreen's lot across the street which is towable, but had to do considering the fact that I actually made it before 6:30, nothing was going to get in my way at this point. I approach the counter, letting the "sales associate" know how happy I was to have successfully made it before 6:30. He asks the other clerk coldly "can we still buy?" To which he replies "Oh no we're out of cash." Homicidal rage filled my soul due to the lack of empathy with the customer at this point, just a complete emotional disconnect. I responded "but you told me if I got here before 6:30 you could buy my tablets." "We don't guarantee cash" the clerk replied. Oh really because you didn't tell me that when you were so quick to have me rush over here, knowing how far away I was and the whole set of circumstances. "Okay well how about a check?" I asked. "Nope, we only work in cash. (Could this be to evade taxes, hint, hint IRS) I can price them out for you and that's it." Aggravated and disgusted with this customer experience and service I agreed, what other recourse did I have? "Okay price them out." The clerk examined the perfect tablets, for about 5 minutes each and said "we can do $330 on the iPad and $50 on the nexus 7." To which I replied, "But I called no more than half an hour ago and Jay quoted me $350 on the iPad and $65 on the Nexus 7." The clerk responded "there is no Jay that works here." "Oh I'm sorry maybe I mistook his name who are the people who work here maybe I can pinpoint who quoted me." To this he didn't answer probably because he was the snake I spoke to on the phone. "What's your point?" He said as he belligerently, circling his hand towards me as though to extract my point out of me. "My point is why was I quoted one price on the phone as a minimum and then I get here and you quote me another price?" The clerk responded, "Oh that must have just been an old price. We sell the iPad for $350 we can't buy it from you for that price." This dawned on me later- what a blatant lie. Clearly you don't sell the iPad 3 64 gig for $350. Liar. I asked to speak to a manager to whom I told this whole story and asked for a check. He told me "sorry we bought about $50,000 worth of product today and ran out of cash." Sounds like another embellishment. The manager also informed me," you've already made up your mind that you're unhappy with us. I'm not going to change it so I'm not even going to try." Seems like a good business model...and out of that attitude was born this review. read more

I have brought a used Wii and XBox360 from them as well as games. Excellent products, never had a problem. The employees are quick to assist you and incredibly knowledgeable. The prices are totally decent. I have gone back 3 times since my first buy there last year and happened to bring people with me and every time, they have also bought something (iMac charger, iPod Nano) at great discounted prices. On top of that the new screen wasn't even straight it was crooked. A couple of my apps were deleted and they were messing with my privacy settings. Tried to get my faulty xbox one repaired that was still under warranty from replayed. I was immediately hit with a defensive strategy from the owner Bryan when I tried to explain the issues. When i told him it was still under warranty He immediately became aggressive and on edge. He swore at me and called me some names I probably shouldn't say on yelp. This is without doubt the worst service I have had anywhere, ever! Be careful with this place, especially the so called owner 'Bryan' who seems to have no training in the customer service field. I wish I could explain how I felt about replayd. The customer service is subpar as they don't really acknowledge anyone that comes through the door and they continue on their personal conversations. The prices and selection of games are great however. What sucks is I've bought a PlayStation 2 from here in two separate occasions and both times I had to go back and exchange it because it didn't work. Didn't receive much of an apology for the inconvenience on my time when I went back. Was just given a fresh console and sent on my merry way. So all in all, wanna pick up a lot of good games for cheap? Come here, just don't expect to leave with the staff smiling at you. read more

There aren't many places to go in Boston for unlocked phones. This place is small and could stand to hire a cleaning crew, but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have a reasonable selection of used phones from all of the major carriers, along with a fair selection of unlocked phones. Some of the prices don't make much sense, but mostly they're reasonable. They also gave me ZERO hassle when I had to return a phone the next day because it wouldn't work with my carrier. But be forewarned - you only have one day to return it if you don't like it! read more

Pretty good for old videogames, which is the reason I went there. The problem is that the very good old games get bought pretty fast. They definitely have competitive prices on the rare games as well. A decent amount cheaper than ebay or buying used on a site like amazon. They seem to have a good selection of used phones and everything else as well but I am personally less interested in that. read more

I had your typical "Get drunk and drop my Cellphone" Fourth of July as I'm sure plenty of us had. I went into Replay'd on Monday to get an estimate of the damage as I live fairly close-by. A nice gentleman greeted me at the front and proceeded to call over one of their "Cell Phone Specialists". Within 10 minutes, I had a quote of $65 for screen replacement and labor which seemed like a great deal and was told it would be ready by Friday. I got a call at work today saying it was already fixed a day ahead of schedule. Picked up the phone not 2 hours ago and it looks exactly the same as is did before and works great. I even bought a 4G cover for my friend. The only real complaint I would say about the store is the floor; most cellphone stores have nice carpeting, but that's just me nit-picking. Great store, great location coupled with prompt and courteous service warrants another visit from me. read more

My Blackberry's trackball became unresponsive so I brought it down to have it looked at. I thought the whole thing had to be replaced but their tech in less than 20 had the thing opened, cleaned sensors, and it was ready to go. Generally I've bought every phone I've owned in the past 3 or so years from here, even bought Christmas and birthday presents for my siblings here (we're all huge classic gamers, and out of a family of 6, that's a lot of games and electronics, so I've spent easily 2k in my time supporting them, if not more in impulse purchases i've made while walking by), plus it's a local business and as I love local businesses, you find serious faults such as this. I popped in to look for a new phone as mine got broken a few days before, found there was nothing whatsoever in stock which was unlocked or on the carrier that I needed, so I was about to head out when the (friendly) employee offered to put in a repair ticket for my phone. As I do understand being an electronics tech with limited time, you are certainly at the manufacturer's mercy. The repair was supposed to take barely 3 days, part time included. Weekend goes by - no call at all. Call on Monday - it'll be right there, supposedly the part was already shipped (they said they checked on the tracker, and assured me it was already on it's way). Tuesday - called, same response, 'the tracker says it's been sent, and it's in town! just waiting for mail to be delivered, call you at the end of the day check up with you' - never got a single call. Repeated the process on Wed. - not a single response back. Finally today - Thursday I called, and really wanted an answer as I've been waiting over a week at this point. After being put on hold for long enough to think I was hung up on, I got told the part WAS NEVER SHIPPED. I was fed lip service for days to make sure I didn't take my money that I've already paid back. After telling the rep on the phone that I don't want the phones they have in stock (trying to sell me the generation before my current phone for 100 dollars more than I had paid for it at the same store a year ago), or I could pay MORE money for overnight shipping for a part that I should have already had long, LONG ago. I ask about what options I have other than paying more money, and the only thing I can do at this point is ask for my money back. After that goes on the table - enter Brian - the owner (or so I was told). The owner didn't seem to care that I lost wages due to a lapsed time frame that they provided me (can't work without a way of communicating with the office, and laptops aren't effective whatsoever on the road - no data), and tried the previous rep's idea of trying to push more expensive phones on me for obviously inflated (beyond what their normal price-raise is) prices since I had been there checking on the phone and got a good look at their stock and the prices therein. After that, I had then been told that 'this is how their business works', and that 'I would have to deal with it.'. Keep in mind, this is the owner of the store talking to a wronged customer like this who was patronized every time he called so they could keep his money instead of refunding it. It seems like from other reviews i've read on here, that a rotten attitude from management is always what ends up happening if they wrong you, or you catch them trying to screw you out of extra money. When it comes down to it, it's a local business, and that's great for Allston/Brighton breaking away from the trend of chain-businesses muscling in on independent retailers, but the accountability goes away along with the 'mom and pop' feel. It's not a good feeling to be just a number from a business, but it's even worse to wholeheartedly support a business for years, and then get screwed. It's a smile and a stab in the back to people who really care about making sure local economies stay strong. You should avoid this place like the plague unless you have tons of disposable income, as there are MANY more reputable dealers that won't treat you like an annoyance and give you a far more fair price and treatment. I'd prefer to be told the ugly truth than given lip service for over a week. Unacceptable business practices abounds, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy now. read more

I went in to this store to get my ancient sega cd to work. Unfortunately it was a no go but the fine folks offered me several options to replace it. These guys also sell av cables so you can hook up your retro game consoles to newer tv sets. I managed to also pick up a few older rare games for well below eBay asking prices. Best part is they offer a year warranty for all products. This place is a game collectors fantasy. Hit them up! read more
