NOBODY move to any of the apartments that this company 'Focus Property Services' rents out…read more (Speaking from experience) - I will list below all of the things that are terrible. 1. Get ready to be treated nicely and receive communication from all management at the beginning of your lease but get ready to be fully neglected the longer you stay. They only want you for your rent money. 2. All agents are terrible at communication. Siurabe, Nelson, Kevin - the entire property as a whole. Get ready to send emails/phone calls/text messages and receive no response if you're in need of any type of assistance. 3. All of their properties are poorly made (construction) meaning you will be able to hear all of the residents residing around you way more than living a comfortable life. If you love hearing the toilet flush from your neighbor, perfect for you. 4. When maintenance is being done in another residents unit- get ready to NOT be notified that they are shutting the water down and who knows for how long. They won't answer if you call the office- as I've said, they only care if you pay your rent. Overall these apartments are incredibly terrible, communication deserves a -0000.1, I would grant this a negative star if it was an option instead of "1 star". Nobody move here if you desire to have peace, a comfortable living, if you want to be happy and not stress. You will be neglected. The most unprofessional management to exist.

This is mainly because the manager of the property, Mel, sets the highest standard for what a property manager/landlord should be. He was always readily available if we ever needed to contact him. He was extremely efficient in responding and sending someone out to our unit if we ever needed something fixed, replaced, or looked at. The best thing about Mel is that he cared. He cares about the unit your renting or staying in, of course, be he also made it feel like he cared about us which is an uncommon quality in landlords/managers nowadays. If you ever get the chance to rent a property managed by NorthStar Real Estate Group and Mel, himself, you have to jump at the opportunity. You'll be in great hands.

My BATHROOM ROOM COLLAPSED INTO MY BATHTUB. That doesn't just happen folks, it's complete mismanagement of the property. Over the years I've had my parking spot taken, blocked by maintenance, hot water shut off without notice, BEES in my apt (from an infestation of the unit next to mine?), and yeah my bathroom products destroyed by a collapsed ceiling.

I'll preface this review of Rose Gardens by sharing that I've lived in about 8 different apartment…read morecomplexes over the last 12 years and have paid 0 cents in security deposit. I'm very clean and thorough. The apartment manager Robin was great but I learned that you have to research the management company before living at an apartment. Maintenance was substandard, it took many requests to fix problems and they were not addressed promptly. That being said, the apartment price was very low for the area and it was a good value. If you want to live in an updated apartment your feelings may be different from mine. I had no qualms living in an apartment which, I believe, was constructed in the 1960's. I would give Rose Gardens a 4/5 since the value is high, maintenance issues notwithstanding. However, the 1/5 review is for their policies with the security deposit. If you want to have the condition check done in your presence, you have to have the apartment completely emptied 2 weeks before your move out date. I left my apartment pristine and was charged a few hundred more than I should have been. There was a bogus inspection charge, a toilet seat charge (the toilet seat was working great and had no stains), light bulb charge (I installed new light bulbs before leaving), as well as a very high curtain/window charge when the curtains were literally like new. The charges imposed were a few hundred dollars *over* the obligatory $300 cleaning fee and I strongly considered taking Barbera Management to small claims court but decided against it due to the hassle. I did take many pictures of the apartment after leaving but cashed the remaining deposit so couldn't pursue legal avenues. Moral of the story: document everything, take a ton of pictures, and read your contract very thoroughly. I'd also recommend not living at a property managed by this company.
