I have a location close to me as well, but there are times, where I am travelling past the Markham store (also a great store!) just to get to the Unionville store. By accident, one of the containers containing the treats fell down. The woman didn't even acknowledge my presence and shook her head when I apologized for my accident. I mentioned that she didn't acknowledge me and her response was that she is fixing an expensive piece of equipment. Her response was short and impatient. One of the other staff came and helped me to pick up the treats as I was holding my dog so she wouldn't start eating all the treats. I informed them that I had heard the service wasn't up to par and that they just confirmed what I chose to ignore. I walked out of the store but returned to let them know that I have lived off of Roncesvalles for over 30 years and I strongly believe in supporting local entrepreneurs. She once again responded very rudely that she also lived on Roncesvalles for that amount of time. I brought to her attention that she was once again responding very rudely to me. She actually said i had sworn at her (which i don't believe I did). She wasn't apologetic and continued to basically yell at me that she was busy fixing this piece of equipment. No need for expensive equipment in a store if you don't have any business. I left and walked up the street to Pet Smart where I was treated with respect and kindness. I was happy to learn that it is a family owned shop with a lot more variety and a friendly and helpful staff. I will be shopping there from now on. The rude woman is not the owner. I aggreed. 2 hours later she called saying she was recommanding her back to be also shedded. I don't know why i said yes knowing that my dog had only 2 or 3 knots on her back. When i went to pick her up, i found my dog completely shedded, including her face, and head. I asked also when i brought my dog not to touch her tail or the length of the hair on her ears. Guess what was done? All the wort that was done, was only done for what was the easiest for the groomer. Not thinking about what should be done for the dog breed. Or the requests of the owner. Please do not bring your dog to be groomed at this place.

Most of the items were geared towards smaller dogs. There were accessories (collars and bow ties) and clothes that would be perfect for the toy breeds but we did notice some extra large sized jackets that would work for a big dog. They carried food brands that I've never seen in the chain pet stores, including one that touted kangaroo as the first ingredient on the list! Speaking of food, there were a lot of Roxy and Bosco biscuits that were very nicely decorated. They even had dog friendly gingerbread kits! I couldn't resist picking up a toy for my dog while I was there. They will ask if you want a bag and since I didn't really want to walk around holding a dog toy I said yes. They packaged up the toy in a paper bag complete with Sniffany teal tissue paper! Super cute.
