He was fitted for a harness which turned out to be so big he was falling out of it. The store owner refused to take it back or offer an exchange because she didn't keep the tags. As well she sold me a product for cats instead of dogs. I told her that I wouldn't be shopping there in the future. Not only was she too busy to help fit the puppy properly but she didn't care. I wouldn't recommend a purchase for$$$ in case there is a problem because it appears money may be more important.

The Bone House looks like the kind of place that you would get only the most expensive pet (read:…read moredog) related items. That is not the case. The stuff they sell is definitely on the higher end quality-wise, but the prices are totally reasonable. I agree with previous reviewers that the people who work there (maybe they are the owners) are very nice and helpful, if you walk in and decide not to buy something you don't feel like the proprietor is staring a hole through the back of your head on your way out (not that any other stores in Leslieville would ever fall into that category).

From what I've seen, their brushes/harnesses are in the average price range for downtown. I have never had any issues with the staff. I go in, and say hi and if I have my Samoyed (who howls from across the street with anticipation to see them) they always ask to give her a treat. If I have any questions, they always answer them to the best of their knowledge and aren't pushy to sell anything. Yes, one of the employees is more on the quiet side, but that doesn't equal unfriendly, he simply just doesn't talk your ear off with product knowledge like some other stores do. I live really close, so yes, it is convenient for me to walk but they do offer a delivery service for (I think) $5 extra, which for many people is definitely worth while. They carry mostly the healthier foods (at least for dogs) and most of your average accessories. The store is small but well stocked and organized and if they don't have something you need, they have no issues ordering it in for you. I cannot speak on behalf of cat owners, but as for dog owners I definitely recommend the store and hope you give them a proper chance!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY TO FULFILL YOUR ORDERS…read more I ordered two bottles of ear cleaner from Ren's Pets for my dog. Since I was paying $14 for shipping and handling, I added a few low-priced, light-weight items to the order. Much to my surprise, I received a box containing the light-weight items but the bottles of ear cleaner that I really needed weren't there. There was no mention anywhere of there being a backorder so I tried to check for information online. There was no way to check the order status since I hadn't opened an account. I called and left a detailed message asking about the missing items and shortly after that I received an email from someone named Amanda saying the following: "they were on back order and since the back order total was under $20.00 they were cancelled" I replied to Amanda with the following: "I really appreciate the quick reply but I don't understand. Why would you cancel part of the order without even advising me instead of just waiting and shipping everything I ordered together? If I place another order for the ear cleaner now, your website will charge me shipping again and that's not fair. Please either ship me the two bottles of ear cleaner that I ordered or credit me the full price of the shipping and handling and I will place the order again." Amanda immediately replied with the following: "Now in the e-mails we send for the confirmation of your order we do mention towards the bottom that any backordered items that are under $20.00 they cancelled and you are not charged for them. I do apologize but since they have been cancelled as mentioned we can't ship them out." It's a really bad business practice to charge someone $14 for the shipment of four light items and two heavy ones and then simply choose not to deliver the two heavier items, without even so much as notifying the client! I replied to Amanda pointing out that Ren's Pets could've made this right and gained a loyal customer for life. Instead they kept my $14 and hid behind the small print at the bottom of on an order confirmation...which is obviously emailed to the customer AFTER the order was confirmed. There is no shortage of online stores that actually fulfill their orders properly. Save your money and spend it on a company that delivers ALL of the products you ordered.

If you need to ask something or put some pet food on hold, just call, and they will pick up quickly and take care of your inquiry. I find their prices often slightly higher than Pet Smart, but they have better sales. This location is sizeable, with multiple isles as well as fridges and freezers. You many have to dig around a bit in the freezer if you're looking for chicken neck or feet -- they're often somewhere toward the bottom. They are also generous when having sampling events. Cats don't often accompany owners, so when I expressed that my cat would love to try out some goat milk cream with bacon (think it was being marketed for dogs), they were more than happy to pack up a small portion for my cat to try at home. Usually there is an adorable kitty that hangs out by the front (store cat?) so that's always a plus.

I first came here to buy gifts for my friends' pets and now come here to buy treats for my own pup. The prices may seem a bit higher for some things, but the quality is great. My dog has chewed through some cheaper toys already, but the ones I got here are still holding up. During lockdowns, they have the curbside shopping down. You stand at the table and say what you want and they will bring you a whole bunch of options you can look at.
