The Bone House looks like the kind of place that you would get only the most expensive pet (read: dog) related items. That is not the case. The stuff they sell is definitely on the higher end quality-wise, but the prices are totally reasonable. I agree with previous reviewers that the people who work there (maybe they are the owners) are very nice and helpful, if you walk in and decide not to buy something you don't feel like the proprietor is staring a hole through the back of your head on your way out (not that any other stores in Leslieville would ever fall into that category). read more

I love stopping in here, in fact I kinda make a point of going by whenever I am in the area. Really lovely and knowledgable staff. They make a point of only carrying things that are good for puppies. Therefore if you are in another pet store and see something that the Bone House does carry, it probably isn't good for your little barkus. Has everything you'd need for a healthy pup and carries everything from tasty treats to custom cookies, prepackaged food to raw organic dog chow. Perfect for a yelper's best friend. read more

I really like The Bone House. We buy all of our dog food here. They have all of the high end brands. Not the low quality stuff that they sell at places like Walmart, Loblaws, etc. We feed our dogs Fromm, but they have lots of other quality brands of food including Go, Now, Acana, Orijen, and so on. They also have a selection of Raw Food for those who prefer it. There is program for certain brands that allow you to earn a free bag of food. My only criticism of this place it that much like many stores in the neighbourhood, it's kind of small and feels cramped when there are multiple people shopping there. The people there are friendly. Every time we pass, our dogs want to go into the store. On at least one occassion, we weren't able to make it to there - they delivered to our door, free of charge. That's great service. read more

VIBE Bark-tastic. It's very cute inside. Everything is organized and clean in this small little dog house. :) Plus, it's their third anniversary. Nice to see a local business doing well. And if you're thirsty after, head upstairs to Swirl Wine Bar. THE GOODS There's a lot of variety here in terms of treats (some of which you can get a la carte if you want to spoil your pooch). They have treats too which are packaged really nicely. And it's quite affordable too. I got a lovely package of peanut butter treats, a bone pillow play toy and a ball for about $24. The fun, colourful displays in the front window of this store always catch my eye. Nice selection of unique/specialty dog items and super friendly staff. They even made a point of special ordering a particular flavour of food that I enquired about that they didn't normally stock and contacted the manufacturer of a well-known brand of leather dog harness we bought there when it ended up needing a repair soon after we purchased it. They definitely carry many items that some might consider to be "high end", but as others have noted the store makes a point of carrying products that are safe and of good quality, and their prices don't seem to be any higher than what I've seen elsewhere for the same products. read more

Great place that fits right in the neighborhood. My first time here was when I dropped by to purchase some Christmas shenanigans for my two dogs. They had a smaller but very lovely selection of goodies to choose from. The lady was as patient as ever which I appreciated :) I have been a loyal customer since, purchasing my smoochy poochys, accessories and snacks here. Super cute spot to pick up gourmet whatevers for your dog. Like Kat said, the perfect place for people who like to spoil the shit outta their dogs. But really, anytime I've run out of dog food I force myself to detour to the Bone House instead of buying a can of ash at Shoppers a few doors down. The owners, and all the staff are chatty and friendly, even though they seem to have issues with the massive mac they use to ring through transactions. Igor is the cutest, weirdest dog mascot ever. I love this place! The people here are so nice and that little Pug that runs the show is adorable!! I love that they sell the craziest items that you normally can't find in the city, like front-clip harnesses and Shedrow coats! OMG!! It's so nice to see a pet store that doesn't sell choke chains and prong collars and other nasty things. These people truly love animals and have their best interests at heart. I have been shopping at The Bone House since I brought my Abbey (mini goldendoodle) home 2 years ago. The staff are always super helpful and friendly and wiling to order anything not regularly stocked in store by any of the brand/vendors they stock. They make great product/food suggestions and always considering new products. I love that all their products are selected because their holistic and safe for your pup. They also carry some high-end, top quality dog beds, leashes and collars that stand up to everyday wear and tear. No complaints, The Bone House has been a great additional to the Leslieville small business shops community. read more

I love, love, love this place! Not only do they carry the highest quality dog foods, they have some interesting toys, great service and wonderful staff. As a positive-reinforcement trainer, I love that they refuse to carry any punishment or aversive tools. This is the girls' favourite store. They want to go in every time we pass by. What a great place to shop. This evening, we noticed that we're low on dog food, and after just a minute on the phone, they have my order ready, and were able to process payment over the phone, and it'll be ready for pick up in 10 minutes! I really like this place. Every time I've been here to get food or snacks for my dog the staff are full of knowledge and super down to earth. I have a big chain pet store down the street from me but I would rather take the drive to the East end to shop at The Bone House where the staff actually look like they enjoy their lives and love to help. Small store with a good selection of upscale dog stuff - food, treats, toys etc. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. The prices are fair. considering this is all premium upscale dog merchandise. And they have free delivery if you don't want to lug a heavy bag of dog food home with you. read more

I think the best thing about The Bone House is that they really seem to care about animals. I like that the place is simple and small, but they always do have new little treats or new items for sale to clothe our furry little baby. I would shop here every day if I lived closer (probably a good thing that I don't!) I stopped by for the first time the other day and could have stayed for hours. I visited this place last week while doing my rounds and it wasn't what i had anticipated. I found it was to small that there was no privacy. The employee there was right on my butt the whole time i was in there. When i shop, i generally like to be left alone and if i have a question i will come find you or in this case turn around and tell you. besides that it's just random nik naks for dogs. read more
