Eclipse was the previous company name, established in 1994. Quality/Quantity - Got a new pair of running/walking shoes yesterday at their other location. And believe it or not, they had another pair in my size here! I did not buy it as I want to break the first pair in. I also saw the one I am replacing here, lol. If you are following, you already know I have been shopping for a new pair of Hoka shoes. And I finally found a place that had what I needed and wanted. They actually had my size! Thank you. I did not know Hoka also made slippers...? Might have to get one in the future also. My wife also got a pair of shoes yesterday and put another pair on hold in their Sparks location. Future review to follow. I guess we will visit all three locations in a week! This location is smaller than the one we visited yesterday, but still has a decent selection of high end good quality shoes for running and walking. Atmosphere - Clean and well organized. Obviously supports the running community, see all the pictures. Open 6 days a week from 10am to 5pm or 6pm. Closed Sundays. Bathroom for customers, I did not use it. Water fountain and water bottle refill station. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Self service here today, the team member was busy helping others. Two team members helped us yesterday in the South Reno location, both were good. But Scott stood out. I watched him help others, then my wife, and then me. He is very passionate about his work. And an amazing hard worker. They are also willing to order for you if needed. And match prices. Price - My wife paid, but I think we spent approximately $250 there, not including the shoe we will pick up at Sparks. It pays to pay for quality. We took a trip to Reno Running Co yesterday afternoon and were blown away. My boyfriend and I both run, but wore old adidas we've had for years. I recently suffered a tibia fracture and was told to come here for shoes and inserts. There was a wide variety of not only shoes, but inserts, accessories, clothing, snacks, etc., and if they didn't have a color they could order it. What was most impressive was the customer service from the employee helping us. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and worked with us not just pulling shoes but making recommendations, videoing on the treadmill, etc. It is much pricier than if you were to go just online, but most running stores are, and here you pay for knowledge. My Hoka's were beginning to show signs of wear and tear so I decided to venture out and get a new pair. I have bad feet (years of running on concrete) and dealing with some tears in my Achilles tendon, so I needed really well padded and comfortable shoes. The staff at Eclipse Running were so helpful in finding the right shoe for my mangled feet. The one I settled on was the Hoka Bondi 8 and boy were they ever the most comfortable shoe I've every walked in. On top of it, it gave me an extra 2" in height which was a kind of cool side effect. The whole process of finding what I wanted and listening to my needs was something that set the staff at Eclipse apart from some of the other experiences I've had in town. Others have looked at me (I'm out of shape) and thought that I was a quick sale, not listening to what I was asking for. Here, I felt like they genuinely cared about me, as a person, not just a way to boost sales. I now have my go to shop for all my sneaker needs. I went into Reno Running Company on Lakeside to buy a new pair of shoes to help with painful plantar faucitis that I am experiencing. I was helped by a young man named Alden. My coach at Orange Theory Fitness recommended coming here for new shoes to help woth the problems I was having on the tread. I came in and Henry was quick to help! I told him the trouble I was having and he said he would do a little assessment & I did not know what to expect but it was quick and easy. He measured my feet to make sure I was buying the correct size, then videoed my feet while I did a short jog on a tread that they have in store. I had probably the best shoe shopping experience of my life here! I've lost a bunch of weight and it's time for my reward of new shoes. Braydon (not sure of spelling) welcomed me when I entered. I told him what I had done and right off the bat "CONGRATULATIONS!" He asked a bunch of questions of how/where I walk. He measured my feet and then got to work. He explained every step of the process and it included me walking on a treadmill to so he could record and analyze my gait. Turns out my sister who use to live in Reno many years ago and now living in New York, referred my brother there. I walked in and the gentleman walked over to ask what kind of sport shoe was of interest to me. He took a look at my walk and gait. I needed new shoes for walking. My husband had recent purchased some shoes here a few weeks before and highly recommended I give it a try. I knew I wanted to try on Hokas as they provide a good amount of support and cushioning that I need for my poor old flat feet. The young lady who helped me asked questions about what I needed and how much I walked, and then brought out a couple of choices in two different sizes. We found the pair that were the perfect fit. We were done in about 15 minutes. Couldn't have been easier. I did not get the bonus socks, but I think the person who waited on us was an employee and not the owner. A very minor quibble. This is my favorite running store. I really enjoy how the crew at Eclipse tend to talk with me and not at me. (Ive had opposite experiences at other specialty running stores in town.) I've had fantastic recommendations, from what trails to run to the shoes to run the trails in! Prices are competitive if not cheaper than online. Pricing on running accessories is far better at Eclipse than at other local specialty running stores. The employees are down to earth and fun to talk with. They almost make it too easy to kill a half hour and walk out with a new pair of kicks. I like to run around trails because of the feeling I get afterwards. Very disappointed, though not exactly surprised. I prefer to shop at local/independent joints like this, but you run a certain risk. Ironically, many independent places are not run by people who have the best training in customer service: they may be passionate about whatever the shop carries (food, music, or in this case, running), but they are often not exactly the best at reaching out and creating awesome guest experiences. I don't understand this frequently-suicidal trait common to so many independent businesses. Alas, this is certainly the case at Eclipse, at least during my visit. The store is TINY, like bedroom tiny. Its size wouldn't be a problem if the staff deigned to acknowledge me...even once...even a hello. It's like being in someone's living room, when they've invited you for tea, but then refuse to speak to you. AWKWARD! If the store were bigger, it wouldn't be as much of a problem, but... Weird. And sad, because I'm training for the marathon again and will need $100s in supplies over the next year. Oh well, off to Sports Authority where I can be ignored in peace!! I love this store! If there was a way for me to bring it to the Bay Area - I would! We were her for my son who attend the XC Camp at the University. He needed shoes and the staff were so helpful, patient and knowledgeable. Also there is a great selection of shoes and more important they had my son's size. This is the store that also helped me discover my Oofos!! I have really bad feet and these offer the cushion and arch support that my feet badly need. Pretty busy for lunch time on a weekday, so it was a tad bit slow but the owner was good at multitasking customers and finding the right running shoe for me. They hooked me up with a pair of technical socks for buying the shoes, which I guess is standard practice for them. AND the shoes were $5 less than the going rate elsewhere (I looked online out of curiosity) so it's definitely the place to go for gear/tips/race info etc! Even if they were a little more expensive than online, I'd still get my kicks here because they got the service that will take care of you and your needs. I usually love going to Eclipse for my yearly purchase of trail shoes but man the customer service has gone downhill. The young man working didn't greet us and was behind the counter on his phone most of the time, when I wanted to try on a pair in my size he seemed as though I was bothering him. When he did come out with the shoes he made some snarky remark about the shoes I chose and went back to his phone. He did let us know about a deal where you get a pair of free socks with a purchase of shoes after he saw us looking at them so that was nice. read more

Worst customer service EVER!!! Eclipse touts itself as specializing in findind a great fit for atheletes so they can be comfortable while running. However, The staff was completely inattentive, poorly trained in customer service, and totally insensitive to the needs of the ones who make their paycheck possible: THE CUSTOMER. When my wife went in to buy running shoes they couldn't be bothered to: A) measure my wife's foot B) watch her run to see her body mechanics C) suggest a proper shoe D) take any responsibility when the poor fit led to severe pain and tendon damage. Worse, they immedeately went into a blaming mode when she, after must cajoling from avid runners, took her shoes back, not to return them, but to get suggestions on how to fix her problem. This crew, owner included, are a bunch of clowns, and I will never reccommend ANYONE spending a single cent at this store. I've worked in retail for many years, and I have never seen, or even HEARD of such lousy customer service. Get off your high-horse and remember who you are here to serve Eclipse; THE CUSTOMER. I really wanted to like this place, I really did. They were attentive while I was there, but they dropped the ball on my order. I was in September 21 and I tried on 3 pairs of shoes. It was determined I needed to go up half a size in all of them, so they ordered 2 pairs and said I'd hear from them in about a week. Well a week and a half went by, and I called to check on my order. One of the shoes is completely unavailable, and the other pair, well he had no idea. He said he'd order them again and call me in a week. A week later, and still no call. I call back, and I'm told "Saucony probably shipped them ground instead of 3 day. They'll probably be in on Thursday and I'll call you." They haven't called and at this point I'm so unimpressed that I'm done. read more

walk in to get some information on one of the watches they sale after looking online at the manufacture site, the guy there made phone calls and looked online to make sure we are getting all the right information, then he offered to sale us the watch for lower the the lowest price we would find online! we ended buying one of the better modules and pay less then we thought of paying for (and for a less good module) I feel as if he wanted us to get the best deal we can, that he cared and that if I ever have any problems or questions I can always return there. what a GRAET service. 5 stars in my book. read more
