We have a lot of skis to get tuned as a family, and I found Ski Pro to have the best prices on this. The turn around time was good, it just might not be that overnight like some in Tahoe. But for the value, it's definitely worth it. My daughter got new skis and boots last season and the staff were very helpful. The ski tech really did me a solid by getting me set so quickly! He was literally jogging through the store at times to help people as quickly as possible- it was a busy Saturday night. Best prices in town for ski rentals (I actually called every single shop in town), great customer service, huge selection of winter and summer gear. Andrew , Kiara, and Peyton were super nice with helping out with ski rentals and were so patient with fitting my family of 5, including 3 children. On another visit, Fionn was really patient and kind with suggesting helmets and had great knowledge for the best helmets to pick for our needs. If you're looking for day rentals, they have them available for both ski and snowboards, but for seasonal rentals, skis are your only option. Since they're a fairly new business, their ski equipment is in great condition. As compared to the rentals at Mt. Rose, they were a hundred times more comfortable (and much more affordable). It was such a hassle going through the rental line at the ski resort last season, having to do the whole process of getting fitted every single time so me and my family decided to get rentals. Don't forget to watch out for their sales - one around October where they have a major sale on all of their past season's gear and another during Thanksgiving where most of the store is 15% off, including sale items. All throughout the season, should your children outgrow their boots, you are and to switch them out without a problem. They also include complimentary wax throughout the season and have a repair shop on in the store. So happy with my rentals and new gear for my kids. Man these guys are rad. After stopping in to another shop looking to repair my splitboard binding and being met with meh enthusiasm to do some digging, I stopped by SkiPro with my dilemma. They rummaged through all the totes they had under the desk but didn't have the exact replacement part I needed. After some time digging through the back while I enjoyed conversation with the other fella at the desk about backcountry rides and checking out some other gear, he came back with my binding good as new. I had great ski boot buying experience here. I came in to just get a feel for what my options are. The sales associate asked me about my skiing style and needs. I have thicc calves so finding the right boot was something I was nervous about. He came back with about 5 pairs of boots to try on. It kind of felt like an eye exam one boot was on my right foot and we tried the other 4 on my left foot as we narrowed down which was the best fit. He clearly was not trying to upsell me either but help me find the right boot which was great. I'm bad a social interactions (yo the pandemic has been hard on all of us) so normally an hour with a sales associate would be my absolute nightmare. But this was painless! Not to mention, surprise! Everything was on sale!! My boots were $200 off This was a fantastic experience and definitely better than my experience at other ski shops where I feel like I'm expected to know everything. read more

Went to the UNR ski swap which looked more like a Ski Pro preseason sale. I was serviced by a gentleman named Tom who was incredible. His knowledge of all of the products and ability to communicate differences between manufacturers was surprising. He spent almost an hour with us and is a real pro. I'm a long time skier and Retired PSIA Level 2 Certified Instructor. I had never shopped at SkiPro in Reno , but needed to replace aging skis. I began doing research and tried out a couple of pairs at a Demo Day at Mount Rose. I had replaced my boots mid-season from an online vendor out of Utah at considerable savings. I shopped all the online vendors including the manufacturer's website after the season was over . I checked with 3 local shops including SkiPro who had the pair I wanted in one of there other locations. I got an email from the Volkl website of a 40% reduction in their pricing which one online vendor immediately matched. I wen to one local shop and 20% was all they were willing to discount. One didn't have the skis, so I went to SkiPro , met with Andrew again, and he matched the manufacturer's price and the online vendor's binding price and even discounted the shipping and install costs! I later went back to him for a new Snowboard for my Grandson's graduation gift and he again matched the best online price and had to goods in stock. All the employees I dealt with were very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend them. read more

Went in for a boot repair on some very old boots. Andrew spent time was able to Franken-fix my my old clocker boots. At the end of about a half an hour, he didn't even charge. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, great service, and great selection. read more

Came here to rent skis. Got an email saying to pick them up after 4pm the night before, but they were CLOSED so we weren't able to get them. Had to go the morning of our trip. I have not had a good experience so far with this ski shop! first off last March I came in and was not fitted properly for my boots. when I tried them just one time I could not ski my feet were hitting the end of the boot and it was painful. I went back to store and was told too bad. I wore them once for like an hour but they would not take a return or issue credit or anything. should have just left but instead we bought a pair of nicer boots and 1/2 size bigger. heated too! more than double the cost of first boots. left the boot with skis so the bindings could be adjusted . told by manager it would be done in a few days. came back 4-5 days later still not done. told 10 minutes. I said I'll get tmrw. come back next day. still not done so. I waited the 10-15 min. this was crappy service right there. but oh it gets better. that wknd trying to get the new boot heaters to work. wait! right boot won't heat up. we ski but go right to shop after on a sat. I suggest that they just give me the boot insert for the display which is my size and that they get a replacement from the company that sells them the boot liner. but no! can't do that. I leave the boots ! a whole week later I call them to say I'll be by tmrw to get boots. Im skiing on Sunday. andrew gets on phone and explains problem not fixed. maybe by Monday. well at this point I lose it a bit. my patience is gone now. he tells me don't yell or else!, THEY NEED TO WAIT FOR tech guy or something like that. not sure how this will turn out! I don't think this is good customer service so buyer beware. I will update when and if this problem gets taken care of. would love to ski tmrw but if I do then I need to go get the boots use them and bring back yet again!! Not right!! andrew seemed like I was being unreasonable in my request to just give me the boot liner that works and he can get the one that doesn't replaced. It never worked!!! Great service, best prices, convenient location. This is my first ever ski season and wasn't sure whether to rent from outside the ski-resort to save money or rent it at the resort for convenience. After checking the prices, Ski Pro had ski rental package for half the price of the resort price. The location is also very convenient as it is on the way towards Mt.Rose, I could pickup the same day I was going for skiing. They provided good service fitting me with correct equipment. I decided to extend my rental for one more day and with just a quick phone call it was done, and when I returned my rental they said they were not going to charge me for that extended day! For years I've been buying from ski pro online and while driving through Reno I found a Ski Pro store to my surprise. I thought I would check it out. I really didn't need anything but I looked around anyways. A super nice salesman asked if I needed assistance almost immediately. I said well maybe I need a pair of snowboard boots. He was so knowledgeable and patient. He took his time to find the right boot for my foot. He explained everything on the boot and showed me how to put it on and take it off, (I'm an amateur). Last month I bought a pair of ski boots from Blue Zone in Tahoe. I got the worst service ever. Basically it was buy the boots and don't ask any questions. I highly recommend Andrew at Ski Pro!!! Ski Pro Reno destroyed my skis. I bought ski bindings (despite the price increase of $40 when I called) from them and asked them to mount them. Ski pro drilled the holes too deep which "bubbled" the bases. Their only solution was to grind the bases, removing the base material, and edge which cuts down the life of the ski dramatically. They did not mount the bindings, but returned the skis to me with new holes in them and a wrecked base. When I explained that its impossible to get a boot center to ski center with another set of holes, the manager was very confrontational. He offered me used rentals which were 20 or 30 cm longer than the skis they destroyed. I can't believe that I had to leave the shop with destroyed skis because of their incompetence. I have worked in the ski industry for over 35 years, and never have I experienced such a bad ski shop. read more
