Very sweet people, however, I did not share the same experience as everyone else. I had a problem with my Macbook Pro and brought it to them and they diagnosed it with at least three different problems that weren't related. I was without my computer from September-November. I finally decided to talk to another computer company and immediately they were able to diagnose the correct issue with it being a motherboard problem. After hearing this, I bought a new computer and hoped to get a return for the parts that Reno Computer Fix had me pay for when they weren't the issue. RENO COMP FIX IS LITERALLY THE BEST COMPUTER FIXER WITHIN 100-MILE RADIUS. here's my no lie, true story: not too long ago, i had to replace two of my windows 8.1 & 10 laptop screens that had been crushed by my dog. researching many places from sacramento to reno, i was finding places like best buy, office depot, frys electronics etc. for computer service/maintainence. every single one of those bigger places wanted to charge astronomical prices (in past experience with frys & best buy, they both broke more than one computer tower of mine multiple times over the years whenever i brought a tower in for them to try to fix). i was then determined that there must be some better option than the big guys/corps in the area. i was totally right, and so i found this relatively extremely cheap and very highly reliable computer fixer bussiness. Reno Computer Fix does pretty much anything and can solve just about any problem you could possibly throw at them. the dudes are all so chill & down to earth, but they have such high intelligence levels, making them able to nearly anything without noticable issue. the employees went above & beyond to make me happy & satisfied, doing all they could to get me the best deal possible. im the kind of person who needs stuff explained more than once, they were so patient and understanding trying to explain everything. theyre all so incredibly knowledgeable on nearly every computer operating system. for the two laptop screens i brought down there, there some things they had to do in order to do the job right. first both my crushed screens had to be ordered online by the Reno Computer Fix in order to put the labor into fixing my laptops at all (im so thankful they were able to do that for me). then they somehow, they magically surgically replace the old/new laptop screens with such precision and perfection that i was blown away. they not only did that, but wipped one of my laptops of every single file, when i asked. the prices for each of these services and labors was so incredibly relatively cheap. one of the coolest things was they even gave me bags & covers for my chargers and laptops for protection when they give your electonics back to you! i thought that was really cool. as long as i live within 100 miles of Reno Computer Fix, i will always go there for any of my computer issues in the future. i have two windows computers, so theyre bound to breakdown again somehow lol. overall 11/10, 6-stars, A++, bussiness of the year, customer service of the year... they deserve all those accolades! this place is the best place youll ever find for what you need computer-wise. this place is phenominal and i really cant wait to go back just to experience being treated so well by the employees and getting so much help. i hope this place stays open forever! read more

I brought my gaming PC to this shop and at first I was happy with my quick diagnosis but they missed 3 deadlines on when it would be ready and I even bought a spare PC from them so I wouldn't be without one for so long. If someone spends that much money in your shop you try and take care of them. So finally I get it back, bring it home and first thing I get when I boot is a CPU fan error, so I bring it back, they repair that and I take it home again, and when I try and plug in my HDMI cable into my graphic card, the card falls out of the slot. They didn't screw the card in, just left it loose. /sigh It was just a comedy of errors. One of the guys there Dillon, was very professional, but the rest of them need lessons on customer service and how to do a thorough job. read more

We had a great experience with this shop and will definitely come back here again. I had a small laptop that wasn't working (spilled coffee underneath) and brought it in to see if there was anything they could do. They tried their own power cord (mine wasn't charging the computer), hooked up their own battery to it, and then detached and reattached the laptop battery. After reassembling everything the laptop started working and has been working well ever since! The cost for doing this? Zero. Nothing. Free of charge! Reno Computer Fix is a phenominal computer repair store with exceptional customer service. I would highly recommend going here over the big chain places such as Geek Squad/Best Buy and Mac-O-Rama. At Reno Computer fix they actually care, work, and show you what is wrong and exactly what they can do to help/ fix it. Reno computer repair won't rip you off either and try and sell you expensive parts and labor. From my personal experience Best Buy Geek Squad told me that it would be 1800 dollars to fix my macbook pro. The computer is worth 1,100 dollars brand new, and I HAD THE INSURANCE! I basically told them to go play with the purple elephants. I'm sure they just took one look at my computer and were like 1,800 bucks. Anyways I took my computer to Reno computer fix and I got amazing customer service right off the bat. Justin and Ian ( the owner) were super helpful, and we both laughed at how stupid Geek Squad is, as they took apart my computer and figured out what was wrong with it. They are miracle workers!! I spilled windex on my backpack while my macbook was in it, which in turn ended up breaking the charging port. The apple store wanted to charge me $750 dollars to repair it (a little cheaper than price I had actually paid for my mac when it was brand new)!!! Took my HP dv7 laptop in for an OS restore and possibly a keyboard replacement (spilled coffee on it, which killed most the keys, so I'd been using an external keyboard). I'd failed with the restore myself, by the way, although I've done it many times in the past. Would not recommend for spill repair. Staff seems nice enough however quality for cost of repair seems low. My Grandma spilled soda on her new laptop. The laptop cost over 1k so I wanted to take it too a trusted place instead of remedy it myself. I brought it in and explained what happened. I watched it get flipped around and opened directly on the counter. No mat or anything to protect scratches. The associate seems knowledgeable but very disorganized. I was quoted $40 for the diagnosis(fair). I got a call about 20 minutes later saying the internals look good however the keys are sticky so it would cost another $60 to repair(once again fair for a job well done). I got another call only 10 minutes later saying it was ready. Skeptical that the entire keyboard was cleaned I proceeded to check every button. I found 3 keys that were still severely sticky and others that were clearly sticky and not fixed. I had the associate fix the 3 in front of me and I observed and ended up just fixing the rest on my own. The whole time there was another person possibly a friend chatting with the associate during these repairs. That's fine and all but I feel repairs were rushed due to wanting to hang out. I do not feel the quality of work was worth $100 for 30 minutes of their time. Finally the outside of the laptop was dirty when I received it back and I after I cleaned it myself there was some residual light scratches. Some kind of black dust or something so I am uncertain what kind of surface the work was done on. For these reasons I will not return and will not suggest this business for repairs. read more

Wonderful experience! I went to Best Buy to have their Geek Squad fix a Microsoft Surface problem. This is where I bought it! They could not help me. Thought my problem was so bad I might need a whole new Surface but also would have to send it out to get the data off it at considerable expense. Recommended I try Moondog. They could not help me so recommended Reno Computer Fix. Walked in and met Alex Davis. He took a hold of the Surface, got on line, figured out a way to get in to it, reset it and got it working! Wonderful! His title says "Gaming Guru" but today he was my Surface Saviour. Will recommend to friends for sure. My second experience with your business has been very interesting. First, I go almost two weeks without hearing from you and the status of my laptop. I was told it would be done in a couple of days and it was done, but because you had my number wrong by one digit in your system and nobody bothered to check my correct number on the work order form I went ahead and waited almost two weeks before I called you. Second, the same day I called, I went in and paid for your service with my credit card right before closing. When I got home I noticed I was missing the credit card and after searching everywhere I went ahead and cancelled it to avoid any fraud. Guess what, my card was found in your store. I received a call from one of you almost 24 hours later telling me that. This is the fun part, the person forgets to hang up the phone and goes ahead and tells someone else, "she didn't answer the phone, I left her a voicemail. We'll keep the card, we'll use it." Could have been a joke, could have not. I don't know you guys personally, so you could see how unsettling this is for a customer of yours. I first visited Reno Computer Fix after a referral from a friend. I had tried a half dozen other computer places for repairs including Best Buy, and I was still looking for one that did a good job. As I am a retired person, the appearance of the staff might make my generation pause (smile). However, the service from ALL of the staff was / is excellent. It is a pleasure to meet staff, who understand what "Customer Service" means and "live" the meaning as well as serve the customer too. They care about your computer equipment like you do, and treat it as though it was theirs - very carefully. I have multiple types of laptops (over a dozen) & multiple desktops too. They have properly diagnosed every problem that I have brought to them in a timely fashion (usually while I wait), which has not been possible with other computer repair places in Reno. They have replaced faulty hard drives, cleaned overheating laptops, upgraded Windows versions, and done everything that I needed without any mistakes. I have never had to make a follow-up call to them regarding a problem after the fact, which is a common problem with Best Buy or some other computer repair stores that I have encountered. I have not found any other computer company in Reno, who has done a more complete and thorough job. Once serviced by them, none of my multiple computers have ever needed to go back to them for anything - how about that for reliability. Regarding prices, I do not understand how they stay in business as their prices are so low. I am concerned that I am stating this in the public review as they may raise their prices, and I would hate to ruin a very good thing. I highly recommend this company to anyone and have often referred many people to them. I have the reputation among all my friends that I am "the computer guy", and I use Reno Computer Fix for all my hardware repair needs. My friends know this. They still come to me for help in diagnosing and resolving their problems. When it is a hardware problem, they know to go to Reno Computer Fix - the IT guy's computer repair place. read more
