5 stars for the Hog pizza (add an egg, trust me!!!) They are cash only, they do have an ATM. Sandwiches served only until 5, pizza/pasta/sides/dessert served from 5pm until close. Street parking is tough, it's right off the Blue Line and Milwaukee Ave bus line. Can be loud as it's all hard surfaces, and the seating is all wood, which can be uncomfortable if you sit too long. The pizzas are great! The crust, the flavor, the freshness of the ingredients are spot on. Just be prepared that it can be a little soggy in the center, but I've seen this in other Italian places for this kind of pizza - even at Eataly where the pizzas are more expensive -- and in Italy where real Italians are making it the right/old fashion way! read more

I really love Reno and it's food. I used to come here all the time a couple years ago. The food is great the service is great. HOWEVER! Today I came with my boyfriend a little before 9. They close at 11, I don't know when the kitchen closes. It would've been nice to know that prior so I could have put in my whole order. We sat for about 6-8 minutes already knowing what we wanted, we weren't greeted I had to ask for a server, and we were given a half carafe of warm water that was never refilled and my boyfriend just got a beer. We get our food everything is delicious as per usual, we got checked on during but not after, then when I FINALLY got the servers attention to order their DELICIOUS DESSERT THAT I DID NOT GET AND THAT I REALLY REALLY WANTED, I was told the kitchen was closed. (I remember how good it was when I have come in the past) I just want to know why I wasn't informed to put in any last orders before it closed, then I was given the end of day free pastries to make up for it. Thanks? Let me also say that I am in the restaurant industry so I'm not the "difficult" customer and I hate helping however today was karaoke so I didn't have the patience to talk to a manager. upgrading my review from 3 to 4 stars, more like 4.5 stars. I've tried the lunch and had a chicken-and-waffle sandwich which was AMAZING. Service was great too. And even after I kvetched abiout the price, I've been back for bagels. (They cover both sides!) First impression (this is for bagels only): skeptical. I was so excited to see this place open in the 'hood offering delicious-sounding "wood-fired" bagels - a dearth of which (wood-fired or otherwise) exists in this city unless you like big puffy donut-shaped white bread. The bagels are good. They aren't great. They are smaller (not a problem as I see it, compared to the inflated non-bagels offered here in Chicago), very chewy (in a good way) and covered ON BOTH SIDES with toppings (genious!). I brought some home to sample with some cream cheese and lox I had there, starting with the everything. I could taste the "everything" topping (of which there was plenty) but not the bagel. Cheese bagel with just a little bit of cream cheese: same thing. The bagel itself had little flavor. I feel it's telling that they don't even OFFER a plain bagel. Texture was on, but still gotta go to Skokie (or NYC) to get a "real" bagel. Sigh. These will do in a pinch, they satisfy the urge and it's right by the el, and the texture is great. I don't really mind paying $3 for one bagel and cream cheese - but I would be embarrassed to bring anybody here to pay that for a bagel. A bagel should not be an extravagance - and if you're going to buy a bunch at once, this price makes it so. And sorry, they're not quite worth it. Ah Logan, I love you so. Just don't want to see restaurants fail 'cause they want to offer the emperor's new clothes at cringe-inducing prices to the influx of persons with cash that are re-inventing LS. I'll be back to try the pizza, sandwiches and pasta - all of which sound amazing and are IMO more reasonably priced and will update the review then. Tonight we received the best service I can ever remember having received at any restaurant in Chicago. I only regret not having gotten our waitress's name so I could name her personally. Whatever she's paid, it's not enough. We had the Paulina 14 inch (unbelievably good). It was plenty of food for both of us, leaving just enough room for dessert. And that's where the story got interesting. We got a root beer float (excellent) and the sour dough chocolate cake (really, really bad). The waitress, recognizing immediately that the chocolate cake wasn't a hit, spent the next 10 minutes trying to work out what had gone wrong and gave us a scoop of ice cream to hold us over while she investigated. A few minutes later, she arrived at the table with an apple crisp and told us that she couldn't let us leave with a bad impression of their desserts. When we got the bill, only the pizza and our drinks were on it. I will definitely be back. read more

This is a great go-to in Logan Square. The pizza, pasta, breakfast sandwiches, Stumptown coffee and pastries are all legit. This restaurant is not over-priced, and you rarely have to wait in line to eat here like many other restaurants in the neighborhood. Reno does so many things right that I always end up sounding like a shill when I extol their virtues. The first thing I want to emphasize, though, is how insanely nice and helpful all of the staff are. Not fawning and ineffectual, just kind and good at what they do. Like they want to be there. It shows that they hire well and seem to treat staff well because they make ME want to be there too. Sounds hokey, but it's sooooooo rare that I just have to shout it from the rooftops when I see it. But that wouldn't be enough to keep the doors open... The food is amazing, terrific pizzas, brilliant breakfasts and a really uniquely curated set of pastries that are not ubiquitous throughout the city so always need to grab one or two of those. I really can't say enough good about the casual environment, creative menu (Cowboy Killer!!!) long hours (I'm sometimes there for breakfast at 8am, only to snag a pizza later in the night to take home). I appreciate the authentic, creative menu being taken care of by genuinely nice folks in a warm inviting room. Oh, and I had a pizza delivered last night via Grubhub and instead of the hour promised, it arrived in about 20 minutes and the guy delivering it was even insanely nice. I don't' know what's in the water, but hallelujah. read more

I live up the street from this place, and I've been waiting for it to open for a while, peeking inside every time I passed by. My partner and I stopped in on day 2, and it was great. It was pretty busy and buzzing with energy, but were able to snag seats at the large, communal table right near the entrance. We has a couple drinks, and ordered the beetza and frisee spinach salad - both were very good. The crust was that perfect combination of thin and chewy (similar to pizza a La Madia in River North). The servers were really sweet and attentive. We ended our meal with a shared piece of delicious carrot cake - which was perfectly not-too-sweet. My only complaint was the volume. It was really hard to hold a conversation, but then again, my partner is both nearly-deaf and a quiet speaker. I'm super excited to try the bagels, and I hope to spend many hours and meals here. The bagels here are laughably expensive. They cost more than bagels at the airport. A bagel with their schmear clears by far $3 .The real let down was that they charged $1.50 for an 1/8 of an avocado as a topping- for 4 tiny slivers of avocado. Reno is also cash only and the lady at the counter loved to let me know that with all her being. She seemed as if she felt like she was saving the world by directing me to the cash machine by the door. I get it -Reno wants to have an ATM and go cash only so you can get a cut of the fee , avoid credit charges , and under report bagel sales on your taxes, but bottom line -I spent over $10 for 2 below average bagels after all fees, tip , and parking was included, so don't patronize me, please. Your wood fired bagels are mostly hype and are not even that good. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago! Amazing pizzas with delicious seasonal twists and a great beer/wine list. They also have fun weekly specials. My husband and I did out bachelor/bachelorette night here with karaoke. Allison was a dream to work with and gave us an unforgettable evening. We love to go in and visit her and the whole RENO team. So I'm giving this spot 4 stars because it has started my new joy for Mezcal! We stopped in late after the kitchen closed, just to check it out and have a few drinks. When curiosity got the best of me, the bartender(forgot the name, my apologies!) described what Mezcal was like, smokey Tequila and not being a fan of tequila I had to give it a try and it was great! I don't think or hope this place will last too long. The menu offers the smallest selection I have ever seen. You would think If you're only going to have a few items they would be good. The pizza is comparable to that of domino's or pizza hut. My sister ordered a pasta dish. She normally eats like a goat and she left half of it on her plate and didn't get a to go box. I was recommended to try individual pizzas at this place, and the pizza did not disappoint -- the crust was very good. However, possibly because we came in the late afternoon, in between lunch and dinner rushes, the service was extremely slow -- it seemed like there was only one server for the whole restaurant, to the point that I had to walk around to find our server, because we wanted to order dessert and couldn't get anyone's attention. It wasn't easy to get our water refilled as well. Quicker service would definitely produce a better impression. read more

what a disappointment! we went and they were out of EVERYTHING. granted, we did go at 2pm on a weekend. however - the breakfast menu consists essentially solely of bagels - which they were out of. mind you, the breakfast menu is available until 5pm, so says their menu, anyway. MAKE MORE BAGELS! ahem. they were out of lox, as well. i wish they would have mentioned that they were out of these things as soon as we sat down to eat, our experience would have been a bit more enjoyable. anyway, nothing on the lunch menu sounded too appetizing, so i went for a savory brioche instead. which, being a vegetarian, i really wish would have mentioned on the menu that it had meat in it! i felt bad for our waitress by the end of all of this. anyway, i got the sweet brioche to go, instead, which was yummy but not worth the 45 minute wait it took for them to bring out my guy's cold sandwich and the brioche.. nope, no way, no how. our waitress was so sweet and comped the brioche and also sent me home with a (DELICIOUS) almond lemon cake for free.. i'll give them some time to work things out and try them again later, but for now, i'd have to pass. read more

I went here for the first time and enjoyed the Hammer breakfast sandwich on a sesame bagel. Gooey fried egg (delicious, but messy), rajas (pepper), sausage, and white cheddar. Reno has a "Morning", "Noon", and "Night" sections on their menu. I've had morning and night and I was really impressed. Fantastic wood-fired pizza at very reasonable prices. So glad the place that took over "Ciao Napoli Pizzeria" is doing that oven justice. The Hog, the Paulina and the Combo were all fresh, very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Hog is a great Mexican pizza with a decent kick. I really want to go back for the Butternut-- looks delicious. It's also the best bagel that I've ever had. I am going to have trouble avoiding this place on Saturday mornings. The pastries and sandwiches also looked delicious. Need to go back for those as well. They also have coffee and great beer, wine and liquor selection. read more

We were at Reno's last night. My bf and another couple - they brought their two year old. We had such a great time and loved the pizza. I think it's a great place to have pizza with the kiddos. Had dinner here last night and I just had to get on yelp and rate this place! Reno has an amazing vibe, the staff is awesome and friendly, and they have great deals throughout the week. There are two menu items that will keep me coming back and I won't stop thinking about: the squirrel pizza and the burrata pizza. Sooo good. The pizza does take awhile to come out but (thankfully) they have the most amazing salad I have EVER tasted...the quinoa salad. I've had Reno's bagels and they're pretty good, it's refreshing to have good bagels in the neighborhood, I'm a fan of the sesame bagel! Most importantly, I think that they're pizza is killer. A pretty good place to eat. I was walking near to Logan Square when a nice lady asked if she could help me to find anything. I told her that I was just looking and she recommended this place as a good place to eat. How could I not? The soup was very good. The chicken thigh sandwich was as different as the waitress said it would be and the best part was the bran muffin. It was legendary. The bad parts involved the coffee. It was "Dark Matter" brand and wanted to challenge your taste buds to a bitter flavor. I do not and the artificial sweetener was that placebo stuff that does not sweeten but may be healthier. I used 4 packs and it did not sweeten it much. My answer either have some of the special, interesting sounding teas or bring your own artificial sweetener. As for the comfort it was above good. They had outdoor seating. I don't sit outside where traffic goes by but the folks out there seemed to enjoy it. Indoors was a very comfortable situation. They are a cash only place. read more

I would say this is a solid casual neighborhood spot, and if I lived close by I'd definitely make it a go-to place. So, not worth traveling for in my opinion, but the food is solid. My husband, one of our friends and I shared some pizza and salad and everything was good. Nothing was super memorable, but it was all done well--fresh veggies, nice toppings. I would go back to try some of the more adventurous topping combinations on the menu. Service at our table was pretty curt and efficient, but one of the bartenders was really nice while we were waiting. This place might not have a line when other nearby hot spots do, so it is a nice option for a more laid-back dinner. read more
