I was given a presentation by Rey Aquino of "Renewal by Anderson" windows, from Delta, BC. subsequent to my enquirer about possible replacing the windows of my house. He was courteous and polite, on our first impression, he took off his shoes as soon as he entered, this indicates his respect for others. He then explained the special material, the quality of the glass, the care of the construction and the functionality of the Andersen windows. It was a very professional presentation, with full details. He also listen the respect my opinions. He's company, or any company should be proud to have him representing their products. read more

I was very interested in their product for a remodel unfortunately trying to get further information and assistance from them has been challenging. Me and my wife went to their brick and mortar showroom over the Holidays while we were off to get more information and pick out product. Unfortunately, we wasted a lot of time and did not make it past the nice young man at the front door. He was very nice but obviously new and not getting any support with our questions and frankly I believe guessing. We decided to try again and call in to have a rep take a look t the house, but they have no way of getting past the check box of a owner meeting them at the location to measure, that's why we went previously in person. I would like to see about having the windows installed from what I have heard, but due to lack of flexibility ad customer support we will not be able to consider them, HOW UNFORTUNATE! read more

I called these folks about an install for some replacement windows on a remodel. Salesperson was nice and all that. However, when I started asking questions about product, warranty, etc. I got the "gloss over". Without measuring a SINGLE window, I get a quote, along with a pretty hard-charging sales pitch. As a structural engineer, with over 35 years of buidling experience, I was disappointed with the glossing over of facts and the hard sales pitch. I looked at other reviews on here (and question the veracity of the ones that say they have $1200+/each windows in a low-end home). I understand some people think paying more is better, but when it comes down to it, there are price points for products that are equally good, without the high pressure tactics. read more

Initial inquiry: The process was efficient. I sent an email and was called back promptly to set up an appointment with the sales consultant. Sales: David was prompt and professional and conveniently made an appt. on the weekend. He also brought samples which he used to demonstrate the product. It was the demonstration that sold me. Follow-up: All visits were made at my convenience. Michael (the measurement technician) was helpful and quite informative about the process. He presented me with a written process which Renewal by Andersen followed to the letter (no surprises) Installation: The team was on time. They were professional and extremely polite. I was greeted by the team leader who introduced the entire team. When another job ended early and second team was sent to work on my job and this decreased the installation by one day. They left all of the areas as clean as they found them. Tom and his team did an outstanding job. The City of Austin permitting process went smoothly and the Renewal by Andersen staff provided me with all of the materials I needed. Overall: Renewal by Andersen is an outstanding window replacement contractor that I would highly recommend. read more

Got a funny vibe from the office folks on the phone (they were absolutely insistent on my partner being there during the home visit) and teh house call/quote was lost time as far as I'm concerned. Granted Andersen makes a great window, but Renewal only seems to carry one line of Andersen windows. Instead of listening and trying to fit a window type to us and our home we were given the hour long spiel on why vinyl products are garbage. Crapping on the competition wasn't enough to motivate this buyer to pay $10K for 5 windows and a patio door. Also know that Renewal pulls building permits and if you have an older home they you might have to do extra work (cut brick and increase window size) to meet code. This can cost you alot of extra $$. read more

Like some other reviewers on here, these guys were trying to get rich off of me. Does anyone really sign up for 12 windows for $22,000??? Please call me if you do, because I've got some great products I'd like to sell you. But seriously, yes, they have great windows... along with countless other companies that sell windows. Those companies just don't need to pay for their children's college tuition off of one sale. read more

I really should have read the reviews here before I let one of their salesmen come into my house this afternoon. We just got this place, and today is my little one's first birthday, we were all very happy planning for our new home, until he came. After trying to make us believe all their competitors make nothing but junk, he offered a "today only" price and pushed us to sign the contract. When learned that they have a 5% extra discount for return customer, which means the less we buy the first time the more we can save, we asked if we can try one or two windows first, also to get an experience of their products and service, he said, "I'm here to help you and I think you should be reasonable". Sorry, but saving $700 simply by getting them in phases IS REASONABLE to us, and that's completely based on their pricing policy. So folks, I had no choice but to thank him and let him go. Knowing that we would't buy at the spot (we actually said we liked their windows and would call when we're ready), he got angry and didn't even say goodbye. No matter how fantastic windows they might make (doubt that too), I would never consider this brand. This is not something a 100-year-old, leading brand should do. read more

The product very well may be everything they say it is but I'll never have the opportunity to find out as I had a negative impression of the high-pressure sales techniques that they employ. The estimate was absurdly high but they were willing to take 38% off with this "Go Green" program if I just locked in today. I get that many people are pressured into sales this way but I attempted to make it clear over the phone when the appointment was made and when the rep arrived at the house that I was ONLY interested in the quote and I would not be making a deal today but it didn't matter at all. The next time I want an hour or so of my time taken in this manner, I'll just visit a used-car dealer or Las Vegas timeshare rep. Oh - and the rep acted like I wasted her time when I was VERY clear up front my expectations. I'll never do business with a company like that if they offered me $1 windows for life. read more

Love these guys, Bernardo S, Joel M, and Christian V are the best. I will ask for them again. My windows look wonderful and they took the time to explain how these fancy windows work. I recommend Renewal by Andersen windows and I HIGHLY recommend these three guys to install them...just pleasant and took pride in their work and cleaned up every thing. I will call on then again for sure. :) read more

Just the same experience as other reviewers. Crazy price, $120,000 for 30 windows and they treat an arched window as two windows. Pushy sales rep. read more

Andersen windows are the best in my opinion (although VERY expensive), and Renewal by Andersen is the worst. This is the THIRD time they have snubbed me because I was honest enough to tell them I needed several windows but would NOT be replacing all 23 of my windows at once. Irritating to have multiple people come to the house, tortuous to set up an appointment, CONDESCENDING and LONG sales pitch before they would even hint at a staggering price tag. Just yesterday I was setting up an appt because the rep was promising all sorts of discounts; when I talked to the manager, he discovered that I was THAT problematic prospective customer. After two phone calls and some confusion, the appointment was cancelled. Fine. I may be a slow learner, but now I know NEVER to deal with this particular company. read more

My wife and I are planning a remodel of our home. One important element was replacing all of our windows and doors. We were contacted by Renewal by Anderson in Nov. 2010. Two of their salespeople came to our home in early Dec. 2010 by appointment and spent 2 1/2 hours of my wife's and my time to measure, review our needs and sell us on their superior quality product. They assured us we would see a quote within a week or less. It is now Jan. 19 and we have never heard from them again. I have called their offices twice to remind them they owe us a quote. I have asked for the office manager and that person is suspiciously always on a phone call. How can you possibly rate a service company that offers zero service? Zero stars. This is an expensive product with cheap help. If they are this bad before they sell you their product, I would hate to call for service after the sale. read more

The man who did the installation, Jody Smith, deserves six stars. He was punctual, knowledgeable, and left our home cleaner than when he arrived! He installed seven windows on his own in one day. Renewal by Andersen on the other hand deserves three stars. Our initial appointment got lost (even though we are a repeat customer -- this our third installation) and had to be rescheduled. Then, after we placed an order and put down our 50% deposit, I had to follow up to find out what was happening with the man who was supposed to measure. Once I called, he came right out and told us it would be a couple of weeks for the windows to be made. After 2 1/2 weeks I called. Someone did call me back and let me know when the windows would be there and scheduled an installation date. I coordinated with our alarm company to come the same day. At 3:45 p.m. the day before our installation, someone called to say they were running behind because of recent rain and instead of coming between 8-9 a.m. they would be at our house at noon. We questioned if they could complete the work in one day and were told they could, and if we didn't have it done that day it would be about a week before they could get to us. Noon came and went, along with a technician from our alarm company (wasted trip on his part). I called the Anderson number that had called us the day before and was put on hold while an attempt was made to contact the installer to see what was going on. They could not reach the installer, but told me someone could come the following day between 8-9 a.m. I remarked that I was told it would be about a week before our job could be done and the lady said she would move some things around for us. I rescheduled a visit from the alarm technician for the next day. Fortunately Jody Smith arrived right on time and installed the windows. Unfortunately, the window for the toilet room had clear glass instead of the Obscure glass that was on the order. I strongly suspect the salesman made an error as our order showed it had been revised. The glass had been discussed in detail and I chose from about four different types of glass, so I know we discussed it when we made the original order. Jody called Andersen and advised them of the error, and the correct glass has been ordered (will take 2 weeks). Jody is a sub contractor and not an Andersen employee, but I have his card and will definitely use him again for home improvement and give his details to our neighbors. He is just that good. When the job was finished and Jody brought us the paper work, we had not be given credit for our deposit. I wrote the check for the correct amount, and he took a picture of our contract showing we had already paid half. I'm giving Andersen 3 stars because I love their product. It just cannot be beat. However, something horrible has happened to the way they conduct their business. I hope they fix it soon, because treating repeat customers this way is no way to run a railroad. read more

We had all the windows in our house replaced by Andersen Windows and it has made a huge difference in our utility bill. Also, we don't hear the noise from traffic around us. The staff has always been very responsive to any of our calls. We recently had two patio doors replaced by them. Again, they did an outstanding job. Happy customer, Mherrera read more

We have a few Renewal by Andersen replacement windows and decided to get a quote for more. When we said we needed a few days to decide, the salesman said he'd have to tell his office that I didn't show up for the meeting, and we were rescheduling. After he left, the company called, and my husband felt he had to lie when they asked if we both had been at the meeting. We felt very uncomfortable with that and chose another company that also came highly recommended, and is less expensive. read more

First girl was really nice on the phone and took all my info. Then she put a "manager" on - who said "If your wife will not be present, you are wasting our time and we will not come". I told her my wife is not interested in being part of this purchase but that Pella has already done a quote with no such hassles. She said it is corporate policy that anyone living in the household must sit through their 90 minute speal or they will not even offer their product. She then asked if she could "keep my information so she could contact me with other products and services" - I was more than a little pissed at this point. I thought Andersen was a reputable company - guess I'll go with Pella... read more

Update: The balcony doors failed due to improper installation during hurricane Harvey and water came through the walls into our first floor and ruined our hardwood floors, some door trim, and a wall. We had to have water remediation and move all our furniture out and have them restored. Then came carpentry and painting. Thankfully there was no bad mold! Renewal by Anderson stepped up and paid for the repairs, but it was months of pain and suffering and the refinished floors look nowhere near as beautiful as our previous ones. The reinstalled doors had some small issues during a water test, too. Such a nightmare! They claim they've fired the bad crew and hired new ones, but I could never recommend them again. I've heard of several people with similar bad experiences since we spoke about ours. I hope their new crews are much better trained! Old review: We are very happy with our new balcony doors. They are of the highest quality. The installation was very professional and nearly flawless, except they didn't have the screen door on either set. That was rectified fairly promptly (a week or two), and we weren't charged the balance until they were installed, so overall we are quite pleased. read more

Lol! This company is a joke. Don't waste your time with them. Long story made short I had 7 windows and 2 doors I wanted replaced. I got quoted at $30,000! Good product, poor sales experience. Will NOT be a repeat customer. I'm very happy with the final product but the experience didn't go smooth as butter. The problems started when the sales guy failed to follow up to questions in a timely manner. For example, when we asked him to email us information for doors it took him several weeks (and several repeated requests) before he sent the information. Also, it took several follow-up calls to confirm the order had been placed and to get an install date. I got a lot of run-around like "I'll have the office call you with that" or "I'll have your sales person call you with that" and then no-one would ever follow up until I finally told them their communications sucked and that they were at a 1-star review. Once the installers showed up they did a great job, finished on time, and I am very happy with the product. So much so that I thought I would try getting a quote for french door. The sames salesflake sent me a screenshot of a price (not a professional quote outlining what I would get and what the price was - just a screen shot of his online cost estimator with a price). So... they move from 1 star to 3 stars because of a decent product but because of their flakey sales person, lack of follow-up, and terrible customer communications they max out at 3 stars (I would have only given 2.5 stars if I could). I will not be a repeat customer. read more

The sales people are like hungry sharks. HE started off with a price of $16,000.00 to replace 9 windows and when I did not agree the price dropped to $11,000.00. How can that be possible? The guys that did the install were fantastic and windows seem to be ok. John R. New Jersey read more

We are in the market for replacement windows for an investment property in Austin. After receiving a flyer in the mail (buy 1 window and 2nd is 40% off) at our home in Sugar Land. I decided to give them a call at their toll free no. I got the "we need 90 minutes of your and your spouse's time......". Smelling a high pressure sales pitch I said no and decided to call the Austin location. Same retoric "we need you and your spouse for 90 minutes" Again, I said NO. I'm sure they are good windows, but by refusing to give in to the 90 minute sales pitch, I will never know. Thanks, but no thanks, Mr. Andersen. read more

Well unless you dont have a problem spending $30k on new windows dont bother reading this post. To start out the salesman shows me the most expensive windows they sell at $1700 per window. I was little skeptical at this point because no matter what the size of the window is they all cost the same?? First off the first question should be " What kind of budget are you working with", but no, he measures my windows and bam a few seconds later after playing around on his Ipad he hits me with a price of $30k. I told him that we dont want to spend that kind of money we dont have. I asked what other types of windows do you offer? He say's, we have vinyl which is cheaper and then tells me you dont want those because I'll be back in 5 years to replace them. Is a no sale better than a cheaper sale??? I was told by the guy who was at my door a week earlier that whatever price is quoted will be locked in for a year. Well the salesman tells us when he walks out the door the price will change. That to me is false advertisement. At this point we felt very pressured as you can imagine. Why would a company discourage you from buying one of their cheaper windows is beyond me. So needless to say we are not purchasing Andersen windows. Im sure there are other companies out there that will not try to talk you into buying their most expensive windows. So if you are thinking about Andersen windows be prepared for the high pressure sales tactics and a hefty price! So in response to you Michelle, how do you explain the gentleman who knocked at my door telling me installation would be free with also a %5 discount on the window price??? read more

Interesting how yelp so conveniently filters out most of the bad reviews for this business, including mine. And by interesting, I mean suspicious. My original review is below: Let me start by saying that we love our Andersen windows. We can't recommend the Andersen product enough. Having said that, do not buy your Andersen windows from this company! As awesome as they are, they're not worth dealing with these people. Their customer service is horrible. No one would ever return my phone calls, and, when I finally did get someone on the phone, they gave me incorrect or incomplete information. The original time frame for our windows was 6-8 weeks, but the production manager all but guaranteed they'd be ready in 4-5. They were finally installed at the 12 week mark. No explanation or apology was ever given for the delay. If I could give them zero stars, I would. read more

Pro: The windows are beautiful - installation went well. Con: What you are not told upfront is this: If one of the windows is defective - and you will not know this until after the window has been installed, because the windows are covered with a blue sheet of film for protection - you are stuck with the window. They will repair the window (based on the warranty), but they will not replace the window. At the price these windows cost, it is disillusioning to realize you are starting off with a repaired window for several thousand dollars. read more

Excellent product, Excellent Presentation, Sales Rep was very courteous and provided several options. - I would use Renewal again. However;!!!! Renewal by Andersen needs a different financing provider (Enerbank USA) which is based in Salt Lake City - is horrible. Be forewarned - Enerbank has no online presence, no way to make payments online, you do not receive monthly statements. Don't take my word do a search (Better Business Bureau / Complaints). I had 9K worth of windows installed, and made weekly payments (Friday). I called the following Monday (every week) to ensure my balance was deducted correctly. I paid the full balance within 12 months. I can tell you by the end of this process 12 months (Enerbank Reps) were sick of hearing from me. For the next round of windows I have replaced through Renewal, I think I'll take out a personal loan through my local provider rather than deal with there shady practices. read more

was considering renewal but many informed me of the outrageous prices and the pushy salesman which i experienced myself on the phone when i said i was not ready at this point but he insisted but i firmly said no but after reading so many horrible reviews i won't consider them at all and their prices seem to be almost double to other good companies read more

After researching Anderson Patio Doors at Home Depot I received a quote for around $1500 for a custom made door to be ordered. That also did not include installation. Then I received a sales flyer in the mail from Renewal by Anderson for $750 off on all Patio doors installed so I thought "Hey" I might get the same deal with installation included! Wrong! that sales guy got to enjoy the comfort of my home for about 8 minutes. I asked him, before wasting each others time what price am I looking at for a wooden sliding door installed? He said would you consider something cheaper? I new we were almost done at that point. He finally confessed after briefly showing me the exact same pamphlet I viewed at Home Depot the we are looking at the lowest price of $7000 dollars. I almost fell out of my chair! I ended that discussion at that point before he could push any further. I recommend you call a local installer and tell them you would like a Anderson window or door installed, you will save over 80% that way and still have the life time warranty. What a Scam! Sickens me to think that anyone would purchase from them... read more

Insane pricing for suckers. You would have to be an idiot to pay those prices for windows. The Fibrex is basically vinyl with scrap sawdust mixed in - big deal. If you like the look you can get Andersen 400 windows at Home Depot for a heck of a lot less and they are basically the same thing; and yes, you can get them in custom sizes - for way, way less. I ended up getting Marvin windows, which are superior fiberglass windows and they look great, contrary to the bogus info the Renewal guy spouted about poor joinery at the corners. Turns out the glass package is just as good, too. The salesman didn't try the hard sell with me or say the price was today-only, but the pricing was just plain nuts. The price rapidly dropped by thousands, but still wasn't competitive. Do yourself a favor and shop around and do some research. This post is my personal opinion based on my own experience. Your mileage may vary. Maybe they won't try to take advantage of you, but I personally think they are a a rip-off. read more

Renewal by Andersen.....Nice name but no cigar. Had a estimate by a pair of Renewal by Andersen salesman, it took 3 HR for his presentation, sales speech and measurements. Even I told him a ONLY needed estimate for one floor, the salesperson proceeded to measure all the windows including the basement, I had like six recently replaced windows and he also insisted to include them to the quote stating them they are NOT up the latest energy efficient standard. Even I repeatedly told him my apartment house is attached and my heat loss is not that much. His initial quote was $80+K for 26 windows and 2 patio doors. He kept on saying about how good is his product and used a heat lamp to demonstrate the window heat rejection feature, blah, blah, blah. Then he applied the 20% discount that the total came out like 62K, 5K for each patio doors and almost 2K for each window. Absolutely outrageous number!! When I told him it is out of my budget, he kept saying that his product is the best, and kept on his sales speech. And he would not give me a breakdown of each window. After 3 HR, finally I told him NO, it is out of my budget and I told him in another state, 60K I can almost buy a complete house. I would never buy a window with fiberglass and glass that would cost almost 2K each. read more

I have read the reviews and agree the sales guys are a bit much. However, I recommend that you know this going in and realize they are only part of the process. I love these windows and recommend them. I feel like we got a new house but kept our old house charm read more

Even if they are the best windows, (doubtful) the sales staff is arrogant and not helpful. Upon requesting an estimate, the salesperson told me both me and my wife had to be present for the sales pitch. When my wife declined to be present because of work, Renewal by Anderson Austin refused to "confirm" the appointment. I took off work this afternoon to meet them for an appointment THAT THEY REQUESTED by mail. I called when they did not show and they said that the appointment was "unconfirmed" when I declined to have my wife present (for the hard sell). I had a phone conversation with a contact there who was polite and eager to get a specialist to my house. I was steadfast to communicate my needs which led her to recommended their standard windows part of the company, and provide me with a 1-800 number, as Renewal by Andersen is strictly custom and at a premium which is unnecessary for my home. I'm glad I didn't sit through a sales pitch appointment to find that out. read more

Couldn't make it past the sales presentation. In fact, about halfway through the competition bashing, extremely high pressure pitch, we tried to get the sales guy to cut to the chase and stop telling us what was wrong with the competition and start telling us about his windows. He got angry and chastised us like a couple of kids. It was very rude and belittling. He basically stormed off in a huff. I could never buy from a company that does business this way regardless of the quality of their windows. If the pressure is starting from the first pushy calls from the appointment setters, then how much worse is it going to get as the process goes on. Renewal by Anderson lost a potential customer today and I never even got the quote..... Maybe it is time for them to re-think their sales presentation. Does this kind of high- pressure pitch even work on people anymore? read more

Renewal By Andersen windows are very nice. However, like many others I absolutely hated their sales tactics. You can get them cheaper if you have other quotes from other window manufacturers. But either way, you will not get them cheap. I did not take the first price. I did not take the 2nd price. I did not take their third price. I let the salesman walk. Then a couple days later another salesman called. Now the dealing started. I won't say what my final price was because I know someone will say they did better, but I cut the original quote by about 50%. I got a great window and I'm happy with the product. Do not accept their first quote. read more

I had heard the radio ads for Renewal by Anderson windows on KLBJ AM. I need replacement windows for my house, so I called and scheduled an appointment. When scheduling the appointment I specifically stated that I did not what the "Buy it now or loose the price" sales tactic. I experienced this with GutterMax in the past and I do not do business this way. I was told I would have a quote valid for a year. They asked for 1.5 hours and that my wife be present. I got the sales pitch. The sales guy did a good job promoting the windows. The price I was quoted was ~$82K for 34 windows. Then I got the 30 day price which was something less. Then I got the buy it now price only good for today that was about $65K. I was told that because of some kinda "fair trade", the price would not be good after today. I asked about cash price and got a lower quote, but again - it was only good for today. When I said I was not pulling the trigger on this today, I was pushed to purchase only some of the windows, then I was asked what I would spend for new windows. During this, I told the sales guy that this is exactly what I asked not to happen. Needless to say he ended up leaving without a sale. The total ordeal took 2 hours, when I cut it off. If the product is that good, they do not need to rely on such sales tactics. Not that I care, but I was not left with any quotes. After this encounter and doing research, I realized that I badly need new windows and there are other great options(much cheaper) for replacement windows out there. I suggest doing your homework on alternate products and companies. read more
