We recently attended an Anderson Windows event and unfortunately arrived a little late, so we missed the main part of the event and the food. Even so, the team was incredibly kind and accommodating. They had a consultant sit down with us separately and take the time to go over everything, answer our questions, and make sure we still had a great experience. They even gave us a gift card so we could come back and enjoy the restaurant another time since we had missed the meal at the event. After an exhaustive search, we chose Renewal By Anderson Windows to replace the windows in our home. I am extremely satisfied with the work done and the quality of the windows themselves. It has transformed our home. Victor Barrera and his team did the installation with extreme care and attention to detail. They were sensitive to our home environment and left us feeling extremely confident in their workmanship. I highly recommend them. On a scale of 0 to 100 with 100 being the absolute best I could give in terms of recommendations, I give 100. The product is excellent but the price is ridiculous. Go to a Lowe's stoore and look at the exact window and see the price. Installation should take an hour or so for the average window so how do they get to a price of $3000. per window? The answer is that a lot of people dont' know what a lot of things actually cost like windows, doors, water heaters, roofs etc. People, do your due diligence before you sign a contract for thousands of dollars. I want to highly recommend Renewal by Andersen for window replacement. I particularly want to mention the extraordinary work of Collin and Noe! They did an incredible job on a difficult (four story!) project. Everything was completed on time and to our complete satisfaction. I want to add that I had an unfortunate experience with Marvin Windows on the same project. They quoted one price then tried to raise it 30k(!) claiming our scaffolding require cutting trees and pulling the hardware up a large tree line. I KNEW this wasn't true from other projects. Marco was the Foreman and he diligently made sure each worker knew exactly what to do and how to do it correctly. Andres, Jose, Mr Santiago, Luis, Mike and Juan worked so hard in over 100 degree heat. They were friendly, very nice to my pets, and made sure they cleaned up any and all their messes. We had to cancel our insulation due to emergency surgery and related medical bills and were charged almost $3K as a restocking fee with no consider given for the circumstances. Not sure to put 1 star or 2. New windows throughout are a vast improvement from 40 year old windows. Getting there was the not easy though - or cheap. The ridiculous price paid is partially my fault - they caught me at a vulnerable time (I had just moved my mom out to hospice care) and wanted to do something positive around here but didn't have the stamina to shop around. So I grossly overpaid with Renewal by Andersen. Then came the install experience: Windows came in early so thought things would go well - out of 13 windows, 10 were wrong. 2 showed up in the wrong color, 1 was missing the panes, and the rest had pane (or "grill") issues. I designated a toilet for workers to use in my house. Not only could they not follow instructions and used any toilet they could find - that night I found a turd floating in and splashed diarrhea all over my master bathroom toilet bowl. I left it there overnight to simmer and marinate and had them clean it out themselves the next day. After trampling some plants they were done for this session. They came back a few weeks later and did a little more - correct windows with the right color came in. They touched up the panes. But the main front window still wasn't in. Months later they did finally deliver. The only positive was what was going to be a big balance due payment was allowed to spread to the end - months later. Would I recommend them - no. Do the windows look nice? Yes. If you want to pay a ton of money and go through a 3 ring circus - sure roll the dice. Otherwise - shop around. Get the price YOU want to pay first. Paying more in this case did NOTHING and was a waste of time. Never heard from their original sales guy ever again after signing the contract. Way overrated. read more

Update: While the phone sales is way too high pressure, we did call them out for an estimate and they were very competitive. They had an excellent Energy Star rating and we got a tax credit. I seriously could not believe the horrible customer care this company has.. it flabbergasted me! Wanting a 90 min appt just to measure oh and then of course up sell. (Oh and because I can't make decisions for myself they wanted my husband there that might better understand the process ) I told them exactly what was wrong with my windows, exactly the type of window replacement I needed and that they were welcome to come out and measure the windows at any time. Then they could email me their recommendations and price. I do not need to sit through a 90 min sales pitch. What's comical is that sales 101 is get your foot in the door. They were so worried about making their 90 min sales pitch they didn't and won't get their foot in my door. If I were corporate I'd be embarrassed of their customer care reps. They just lost out on what would have been at minimum a 30k job. But they couldn't see the forest from the trees. Smh. read more

Definitely would not recommend this company. We chose Renewal by Andersen because their whole concept is a quick and easy installation that *should* be much easier than hiring a contractor. After all we've been through with this company, a contractor would have been better. First, Brett Neilsen of the central Texas sales office met with us on February 5, and sold us on the idea that this would be the easiest, most streamlined way of putting a door in where a window used to be in our home. They set up an installation manager to come check out the space where the project would be completed about 5 days later. That installation manager did not prepare us for what actually needed to happen, despite their "no-surprises checklist"-- which was a whole mess of electrical work. When the day came for the project on April 21, Jesse came out and immediately noticed that this project had not been properly set up by the installation manager. They had to cut the power in part of our house, and cut into the dry wall to move some wiring. And then, once that was figured out, and Jesse unpacked the door, it was broken. These doors and windows are supposed to take on hurricane-force winds and damage...so, it's damaged in shipping? The company had all kinds of gifts sent to our house like cookies and flowers, which was a nice gesture at the time. However, this still is ongoing... About two weeks later, we learned the door wouldn't be able to be installed until June 7. There was no option of getting this expedited or anything. So, a project that we booked in early February, that was supposed to be completed on April 21, is still not complete as of today, June 4. In addition to that, our walls are all cut up, and we're being told that can't be fixed until June 28! All during this, I have reached out to our salesman, Brett Nielsen, as well as copying the central Texas sales office, and haven't heard A WORD. Looks like they just cashed in on their commission checks, and couldn't be bothered to answer any emails. I have had to miss multiple days of work, and will have to miss more, because of all of these mishaps. One day installation? Yeah, right. So, save your money and look elsewhere. I can say that I did not go with Renewal by Andersen. I did have a consultation to replace 16 windows and was quoted a price of $60,000. That seemed excessive so I took two other bids from local Austin companies with 4.9 to 5.0 ratings on Yelp. Both companies came in with quotes under $15,000. Yes, these were vinyl windows, but if you do your research, vinyl are excellent windows. Andersen Fibrex is nice too, but your return on investment with Renewal just isn't in the ballpark of reality. I would suggest if you're sold on Andersen Fibrex windows, get a bid from a local certified Andersen contractor and you'll find you'll get near identical Andersen windows for $40,000 less, or that was the case for me in replacing 16 windows (actually since we're combining two single hung windows into picture windows, it's replacing 16 windows with 14). Please always get at least three bids or estimates on any expensive project. That's how I found out that I would have paid four and a half times more for Renewal installations. read more

He quoted "facts" about other materials explaining why they were so much better that as far as I can tell were not true. He did not show any samples or try to explain why his windows were so good because as he said several times it was not worth putting Anderson windows in a home like mine. He didn't even measure all the windows because it wasn't worth his time. When did companies think it was ok to treat their customers like that. They sent a gentleman named Michael who went and took measurements and then pulled out his iPad and showed me the cost of the job is 65K. He then punched in a few things and brought it down to 42K(promo discount whatever). Then he said this is your discount price that is only good today and I HAVE TO DECIDE RIGHT NOW. I've just met this guy and wanted an estimate. The fact that he put me on the spot was a red flag in itself. He just expects me to agree to a $42,000 job when he's been at my house for less then an hour?? Shady sales practices!!! Your price is your price I respect that but as a consumer you should encourage me to shop around call whenever I'd like. IDIOTS. read more

The sales person was prompt and showed up on time however I was disgusted by the quote I was given and they were running a promotion of 20 percent off. I was quoted $131,000 (before the discount) to replace approx 32-35 windows. Some are quite small while others are large but not floor to ceiling by any means. I am in a one story house. My significant other paid $17,000 to 24,000 to replace 20 windows in his house. He lives in Westlake and has some very large windows especially compared to my house. He obviously used another company. The sales person claims that Anderson Windows are a much higher quality. For that price these windows should be able to clean the house and wipe my rear. He gave one option the two bigger projects we had and completely dismissed me when I said it was not the aesthetic I was going for. Let me preface by saying that we love our Renewal by Andersen windows and sliding doors that were installed 8 years ago to our 20 year old home. Fast forward to last week when I called the Austin office to get someone in the service department to see if I can get a replacement latch for the sliding door. Was told by a very nice fellow that someone would be in touch with me about getting that part sent over to us. Fine. That was on Friday. Over the weekend though I kept receiving calls from unknown numbers that were ultimately blocked by my phone as spam calls. The phone calls started late Saturday night around 9 p.m. and continued through til the next day. Then my husband started receiving calls from unknown numbers but he decided to answer one of the calls. The person on the other end said that she was calling about scheduling an appointment to install 11 windows. I took a deep breath and calmly let her know that the issue was not installation of windows but of a small replacement part. She apologized for the inconvenience and hung up. Since no one has contacted us about the replacement door latch, I have come to the conclusion that Renewal by Andersen has issues with replacing parts that are still covered under warranty. I just went on Amazon and found the latch listed for less than $9 so I bought two. Figured I'd replace the other one in my room while I'm at it. Shame on Renewal by Andersen for not honoring nor communicating to whoever is in charge of parts about my issue. But since I am not one to sit around and wait I, with the help of Amazon, took the bull by the horns and resolved the issue myself. read more

I've recommended them for the windows and advised buyers to beware of the "Sub" contractors and the Austin owner employees. Make them do it the right way. These guys do have some great windows. But that is apparently the windows of the parent company, Anderson. My review is based on the installation of the windows by the "Renewal" company. The installation process has frankly been a nightmare. They said it would be done in one day, but we have taken two days off work and they are still fumbling around like the three stooges even after assigning their so called "best crew". I had the Austin Tx office replace all my windows (7) and my sliding patio door in August 2014. I am very happy with them and dealing with their people was pleasant. My home stays much cleaner and is much more quiet. I recommend this company. Now almost 3 years later I am very pleased and happy to recommend this company to you. Update.... July, 2018. Now almost 4 years since installation the company discovered a flaw in the manufacturing of my glider windows having to do with the argon gas between their panes. This was undetectable to me. I was under the impression that I signed a contract for $14,000.00 instead it was for $19,000+. Two days later, I got a bill for $7,000.00 from a loan company I never heard of for so called Entertainment Equipment after I got a call from them a month later stating I owed them money. After sorting it out it was for Renewal by Andersen who took two months getting the Sliding doors and windows delivered to the house to install. It took three weekends to install when we hit a snag - no screen sliding doors - took another four weeks before they delivered the screen doors after much wrangling and stress with them telling me it was not in the contract. Very frustrating to deal with them. Andersen windows are a great product - this company in Austin, Texas is not. I found this out the hard way and am not happy with the type of customer service this company gives. You can get a better deal shopping around for Andersen Windows such as Home Depot or other more reputable companies. Your company had a door to door salesman come to my house during the time of my baby's nap. Even though there was a sign that says, "Baby is sleeping, do not use doorbell", he proceeded to ring the bell and knock on the door, which woke up the baby. When I answered the door to see who it was and what he wanted, even though the baby was crying, he wouldn't give me a straight answer about who he was or what he wanted, till I said, "The baby is crying, hurry up and get to the point." At which point he identified himself as one of your salesmen and went into his pitch. Door to door marketing is powerful because it brings your name to people who would have never heard of you before, but each person you send to the door represents your company. What I know about your company now is that you hire people who are shoddy enough at their jobs to disregard a clearly written sign saying that ringing the bell will disturb the baby and who will also be unclear and obfuscatory with me when I need answers. I have never heard of your company before today, but now, knowing whom you hire, I will absolutely never do business with you because I know what your standards are. read more

Glen came out to my home to give me a quote, and he was incredibly paternalistic, condescending and outright rude. After he insulted me, he was asked to leave and then TOLD, but he would not go, instead insisting how his rudeness was justified (...how dare I interrupt your carefully rehearsed shpiel to say that I *understand* the science he was misrepresenting?). I told him repeatedly to leave, but he just kept yelling at me. I literally had to CALL THE POLICE before this churl started packing up his things. Window replacement was at the top of my list of home improvement projects, but this entire experience was so horrifying that I'm suddenly quite satisfied with my fifty year old windows. read more

We ordered our windows in August 2021, we are now in March 2022 and the project is still not complete. They only ordered half the windows to begin with, adding another 3-4 months to the whole process. Now that the second half has come in at least one is broken. They only sent one guy this time to install so it's going to take multiple days and ANOTHER reschedule as one of the windows is too big for one guy by himself.
